WDW Commando Club

We are officially booked for our first trip to WDW. October 14th through the 26th. We'll be staying on site at AOA Cars the 14th through 19th then at a time share. Right now we are finalizing our calendar for when I call to get ADRs. Right now the plan is:

14th: Arrive about noon and Chef Mickey's for dinner.
15th: MK, CRT for late breakfast.
16th: HS, Lunch at Hollywood & Vine
17th: AK
18th: MNSSHP
19th: Switch resorts
20th: Gatorland or Cape Canaveral
21st: EPCOT
22nd: US IoA or Sea World
23rd: Day of rest
24th: MK
25th: Whichever park the kids want to do again.
26th: Fly home

DW and I are going back and forth on which day at Mk to do BBB with DD.

Please let me know what you guys think of my plan.

Looks Good:thumbsup2 Are you going for the Hollywood & Vine with Fantasmic preferred seating package, I know when we did it there were 2 choices, you had to book under the Fantasmic package to get the preferred seating, I'm not sure how they do it now but at the time it was 1 TS either way:confused3

Looks like a good plan. We just can't do CM for dinner. Just can't tolerate the food, acoustics, or dark at night. But, there aren't many other Options for dinner. As for the BBB thing, we did it before dinner. I don't know if it was available, but I wish we could have done it in the AM and then had a late breakfast. CRT Breakfast is one of the best.

Chef Mickey's for dinner is a compromise. I want to kick off our vacation with breakfast at CM but DW thinks that would be tough to get the kiddies up and moving that early on the first day. So we decided to do it the day we arrive. We're also kicking around the idea of doing CM on a different day and doing a DTD restaurant on our first night. I still have time to change my mind. Plus we are trying to decide where to go for our anniversary dinner. We're looking at Saturday. Flying Fish and California Grill are two we are looking at along with some off site places Trip Adviser recommends.

Ron, I'm so sorry this is late but. . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!party::bday: :cool1:

:welcome: You are member #230 :cool1: You got a nice solid day planned:thumbsup2, Are you going to any of the parades or fireworks:confused3, that could change some of the ride line up since some areas are pretty empty during those times:banana: IMO Belle, Arial & Little Mermaid will be the heaviest lines, I don't know if they have FP's or not since we went on a dress rehearsal, If you getting there at 8am after BBB I would definitely try to get that area done 1st before it backs up, or at 9 have Hubby get a FP for Belle or Little Mermaid:confused3.

We are planning to watch Wishes, but more of a stop wherever we end up at that time. Really I plan to do the commando style for the first half of the day. The second half is when I want to fit in the characters and such. I am hoping to charge through the list of rides so we can slowly stroll and enjoy the park later in the day. We don't usually take breaks. We go to Disney for 2 weeks, but only go to each park once. We always have a rest day or two in between park days, so staying all day isn't an issue for us.
:goodvibes

You got some good solid days planned:thumbsup2

For the Water Pageant it depends on what your preference is

- I would not recommend Wilderness lodge it has a long dock type trail to the water, but being a observant nature type I have noticed a lot of spiders hanging out in the brush close to the path, night-time is hunting time so I really don't want to take the chance in case they spin a web to get to the other side:scared1:

- GF & Poly you can sit on the beach catch the parade and wishes

- The Dock at the Contemporary, my all time favorite spot, you can sit on a bench, usually not many people there but IMO it is the closest you can get, one drawback you can't see the fireworks, the Towers block the view

- By The MK, usually really crowded with people leaving the park

Our next trip we are doing it at the Poly since my wife wanted to go to Hawaii this year, well this is about as close as she's gonna get:rotfl2:

I agree that CM breakfast is a great way to start the vacation, and we usually do it when staying at BLT. But, I get how children are tired. As for dinner, CG was great before th re-model and I would easily pick it again. We did not have a good meal or experience at Flying Fish, and won't go back for those prices.

I didn't know there was a thread for people like me:cool1::banana::hippie::hug:

Welcome, and I see a lot of posts and planning. You have found the right spot.

Lots of detailed planning, and my favorite - a day off in between. I will second the CR for EWP. When we have stayed at BLT, It starts there at 9:30 PM and makes it way over. I'm not sure if the time changed for June. But, if you parked at MK, walked to the CR terrace for Wishes, and then down to the dock for the EWP, that is a great view. There is also a beach behind the CR where you could get some chairs, but you couldn't see the castle from there.

Be aware of potential lung soreness if you've never breathed in compressed air before breathing from a reg and air from a scuba tank. The air inside the tanks is compressed and very dry, and can inflame the lungs if they are not used to it. Once you get used to it, your lungs are fine, but it's something to be aware of, especially if you are flying. Take this advice from an x scuba diver. Scuba diving is amazing, and have had some incredible experiences underwater over the years, before I had kids.

It's been kinda slow on the Dis scene with Rumors & News lately so being a little bored, I'm trying to complete my Sorcerer Card set, I got some trades in the works and if everything pans out , I'll only need 1 more card to complete the set:thumbsup2, of course once I complete the 60 cards you can get in the park, then the challenge is to get the other 10 cards:scared1:, I already have one but these a tough since you would only get 1 of these cards with the game you buy at $14 and there is no way of knowing what card is in the game:confused3

Then I have to find the MNSSHP card but I have the MVMCP card to trade for that so it might not be that hard:confused3

I hope by the time August comes around I have the set completed with all the cards:cool1:

For those of you that are collecting the Sorcerer of the Kingdom Cards, I found a Great Thread here on the Dis Boards to trade cards, I've made some trades and I'm down to the last card to complete the 60 card set:yay:

The name of the thread is Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Trading, so if you have some duplicate cards and still need others give it a try, it's a good source of Disney Magic in the down time.

There is also a couple traders who have Transportation Cards, I've also made a couple trades with them:thumbsup2

Hello Commando's:wave2:
I'm back in Disney mode. I have updated my PTR and would like to update it some more. The only thing is, I would like to begin to add photos. Does anyone know how to do this on here? I see we have people posting plans, that is wonderful. It is super helpful to see what everyone else does. With school I am noticing how now I have to put everything on a schedule or I just don't get to it, that includes my Disney planning:goodvibes Hope everyone is well.

First, get a photo upload account like Photobucket. There are others out there that are free. Then you upload your picture to that site. Then, copy the IMG code and paste it here.

Yes, yesterday was my 180 day mark. I couldn't get the +10 to work on the Disney website, App, etc so I called. I was hoping to get it around 6:00 PM, but I did get the day I wanted. It fills up quickly.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I'm waiting for my 180 mark to hit so I can start booking ADRs. Here is what the calendar looks like right now.

Monday: Fly in, DTD in the afternoon/evening
tuesday: MK, BBB at 8am, CRT late breakfast
Wednesday: EPCOT
Thursday: AK
Friday: MNSSHP

Sunday: Cape Canaveral/Gatorland
Monday: DHS, Hollywood & Vine lunch
Tuesday: IoA
Wednesday: Whatever park we want to do again

I still have a few days I can tweak it. I'm actually thinking of switching Wednesday and Friday around on that second week. What are the Commandos thoughts?
