You know they like to play around with the park hours. We can make ADRs in a couple weeks and I'm hoping they will be accurate enough to predict the MNSSHP so I can get BoG. As for DTD, we used to drive over as well. Now, we just haul the stuff back on the boat or the bus. I imagine a lot of people grab the free parking there. Maybe they will offer FL resident parking passes like APs or free parking for resort guest with their parking sheet.

I don't think Disney will charge for parking at DTD.

Most malls and outlets in the US don't charge for parking (unlike in Brazil where almost all of them do! ), even Universal's Citywalk doesn't charge for parking after a certain time to allow people to come eat, drink and shop.

Disney wants people to enjoy DTD even if they don't go to the parks. Of course, there is the problem that, even though there are no direct buses from DTD to the parks, people can get to a hotel and from there to a park. We did this several times last trip instead of using Pop Century as our hub: AK to DTD through Port Orleans, DTD to AK through Saratoga Springs and Epcot to DTD through the Boardwalk.

What they might do is this: charge a smaller parking fee compared to the parks and allow people who parked at the parks to park for free and of course resort guests should be able to park for free at DTD just like they do at the parks.

I was thinking along the same line, if you are a resort guest or have a stub from parking at one of the parks lots, it would be free, of course I'm sure the will have a section for employee's of DTD, and everyone else would pay a small fee (I would think between $3 - $5 , basically paying for maintenance & security, but only time will tell

What I did find really interesting is a option on how it will be paid for, Reedy Creek is a governing town (owned by Disney) but can issue tax exempt bonds for the $85 mill needed, I'd be willing to invest in a piece of that, even though if you are not a FL resident you would have to pay your states income tax on the interest, I do believe you still would not have to pay Federal, if they indeed decide to issue bonds I'll find out about the Federal part from some of my friends in investment business

We're going to do the Luau this time. I did it back in the mid 70s on my first trip with my parents and got to be part of the show. Nobody wants to see that now.

The two I bolded are the only one's I think are worth removing. from the "skip" list. Captain EO only because it's a limited time classic (technically, but it does kind of seem like it's back to stay) and One Man's Dream is actually quite enlightening. JMHO

Out of this list we have never done American Idol, Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground or One Man's Dream.

Everything else we have done at least once

I think I will definitely include One Man's Dream in our plans for this year, now that my son will be 8 and will be his 10th trip to WDW all of us can appreciate it more and maybe learn something with knowing the parks quite well

I think I read the other day that they are discontinuing the Disney Junior show. I may be mistaken though.

It might not be a bad idea and maybe change it into some other kind of show or something, It is kinda cheesy, and it really needs more seats, it kinda reminds me of Romper Room Gone Wild

This is a busy time of year at WDW, in 2015 I hope to do to be at WDW during Easter break so being a planner I've come up with a strategy

Flower & Garden Festival + one of the busiest time of year this is how I would play it out

- AM do not go to the park with the EMH try to go to one of the two parks that do not have any kind of EMH that day, dig in deep hit big attractions then when it starts to get busier hit the line rides & attractions(examples Universe of Energy, Trails at AK, Carousel of Progress, Muppets 3D etc)
, During the peak of the day 1-5 depending on what park has EMH, this would be a great time to go to F&G festival or DTD, This brings us to dinner I would say that eating at a restaurant at a resort would Trump any restaurant in a park since I feel at the parks dinner would be rushed, Then for the evening I would go to the park with the EMH, skip parade or fireworks since most guests will go to see them and hit the attractions while they are going on once it hits the EMH and the parade or fireworks are done some of the crowd will leave this is a good time to do some meet & greets and major attractions near closing time if you get in line before they send a CM to the end of the line , it's all bonus time

Now if you want to see some of the parade's or fireworks the big thing to remember is location, for example the hub or MS at MK might not be the best place to catch the parade or fireworks during such a busy time, maybe watch the parade by the shooting gallery and watch the fireworks near CP to get away from the crowds

Even though it is a busy time, it is also a time that a Commando will excel since we usually think out of the box, can re-plan at the drop of a dime , and go against the grain , This is why I don't worry about crowd levels, for the majority of us this is not our 1st rodeo, so listen to your gut feeling

Our list is similar. I like France movie - great place for nap/ rest. I like the Norway movie because it has boats and water, plus I get to revisit my propaganda story moment. But, they aren't must dos.

We skip the Stitch ride for sure. It is difficult to get in all the shows at DHS because of their overlapping times, so we have to pick and choose. We skip the water parks since we are so close to Holiday World/ Splashing Safari, which is in the top 5 water parks consistently in US. Unfortunately, we've skipped all of AK for the past three years.

And yes Randall I do agree the zoo would have been Great today, it was really nice out here, I'll let you know when we are going again (just need it to get a little warmer) most likely it will be on a Sun since it seems like overtime days are easier to get off and since the storm the school schedule is solid from now till the end of June, I know you want to go and try to recruit some penguins

We are officially booked for our first trip to WDW. October 14th through the 26th. We'll be staying on site at AOA Cars the 14th through 19th then at a time share. Right now we are finalizing our calendar for when I call to get ADRs. Right now the plan is:

14th: Arrive about noon and Chef Mickey's for dinner.
15th: MK, CRT for late breakfast.
16th: HS, Lunch at Hollywood & Vine
17th: AK
18th: MNSSHP
19th: Switch resorts
20th: Gatorland or Cape Canaveral
21st: EPCOT
22nd: US IoA or Sea World
23rd: Day of rest
24th: MK
25th: Whichever park the kids want to do again.
26th: Fly home

DW and I are going back and forth on which day at Mk to do BBB with DD.

Please let me know what you guys think of my plan.

Looks like a good plan. We just can't do CM for dinner. Just can't tolerate the food, acoustics, or dark at night. But, there aren't many other Options for dinner. As for the BBB thing, we did it before dinner. I don't know if it was available, but I wish we could have done it in the AM and then had a late breakfast. CRT Breakfast is one of the best.
