Got 10 days before we will be in the promised land, on a park scale I would put that at the gate waiting for entry in the A.M.

No way. Since we don't fly, I get that excited the day before because I know I'm driving thru the night. Last year, we left around. 3:30 PM. I'm going for 3:00 PM this year. Pulling into BLT parking lot at 6:00 AM was great. That is RD equivalent.

Ok, so it isn't really sudden considering we are leaving september 24 to fly to wdw, but for me and my crazy planning needs this is certainly a short time to plan.

My best friend decided that he would mention to his family that I might be interested in going with them to see the mouse on their family trip. I had offered him up my planning books and my laminated planning guides from my trip in 2010 and apparently he realized this was a sign...hahahaha... He has always known I am crazy for disney but I don't think he realized just how crazy until then. Well, his family was down for the idea and the next thing I knew DH and I were booked on a flight to florida!

We have our military ids so my bff decided to offer to pay for our plane flights since we could get the discount. It is a Christmas gift!


This leads me to my commando panic. They aren't into the planning like I am. He said he wants me to plan like I normally do, but his family is VERY opinionated about everything and when I told him today we should make ADRs and decide on park days it went like this "well, last time we figured we would do one a day but we ended up hopping around. We have the car so that makes it way quicker than using disney transportation."

I don't know what to do. I know I should just go with it and accept that they are gonna run everything and I am just tagging along on their vacation but I am panicking. I need commandotherapy! help!

I do see the panic I would plan like normal but not tell them all the details, the more you dump on them the more opinions will pop up, Since they are picking up air far, I would let them think they are running the show but would always be ready to bail them out when they get caught in the headlights (you know it's going to happen at some point), in the long run you will be the one that saved the day, and they will want to do whatever you suggest

I told myself I wasn't going to go Commando this trip and just take my time and relax and play it by ear, but of course free dining became available and that idea just went right out the window!!! Its been almost 4 years since my last trip to the world, so I cannot help but plan every single minute!!!

There is no cure for the commando. The support group here just wants to make you plan more.

Yes I am going solo... well, partially.. staying at POFQ myself but a friend of mine will be there the same time, staying at BLT- we have the same flights and all and we will be meeting up, and have 2 meals together. But yes, I am going solo.. another reason why I shouldn't go commando and just go with the flow! LOL I'm sure when I am there, I'll relax a bit!

Then if you are that Worried about it, don't make yourself sick. See if you can plan time just for the two of you and see if you sneak away from the herd. If not, go with the flow and just have fun.
