WDW Commando Club

Looks good :thumbsup2

Don't miss the Mango pie at Yak and Yeti! Delicious!

No dining reservations for Epcot? I was pleasantly surprised at the quick service Electric Umbrella, but the Via Napoli pizza was incredible!

OKay. I'll put the pie on my list. I had some ADRs for Epcot, but just wasn't sure they were the best fit for us. I think we're going for counter service that day, unless anyone here has something better to recommend. The Electric Umbrella is counter service, right? I'm thinking Via Napoli is not? That might actually be something we could agree upon. I might breeze over and see if I could still get reservations for that.

TSM - Toy Story Mania

Jedi Training sign up is now 1st come 1st serve, they start sign ups when park opens over at Star Tours, they give you a ticket with what time to come back, it fills up quick so you have to get there early.

For us Commandos this is great, since you get a confirmed time 1st thing in the AM, you don't have to have to waste time during the day inbetween shows trying to get a spot:yay:

I meant Toy Story Mania Fast Passes, which I understand are a must first thing. At Star Tours, I will sign my kids up to participate in Jedi Training. My oldest is really into Star Wars, so that is our biggest must do of the trip.

Thank you!

A couple of things I just read about on my favorite blog It's A Disney World After All

- Lightning McQueen will be replacing Herbie The Love Bug in Lights, Motors, Action extreme Stunt Show in June:cool1:

Rumor - Jedi Training is possibly moving to the Sounds Dangerous Building, with a possible living character initiative version of Yoda:woohoo:

I find that the info on this blog is very accurate, as a Commando I got to keep on top of this kind of info:rolleyes1

Thanks for the info! I'm going to have to start reading this blog as well, I'd never heard of it before.

Do you know when this could happen. We're going in June, and I want to be sure I am on top of this one.

Right now it's only a rumor:confused3 But IMO this is what I think could happen

1- it's already in the works and they unvail it during the Star Wars weekends:confused3

2- since Star Tours is going to mobbed when it opens (TSM lines will probably shorten up a bit:cool1:) they are going to need the space where Jedi Training is now, it only makes sense to move and update it:confused3 Depending on the crowd level that Star Tour attracts would depend on weather they move Jedi Training or not:confused3

I think this rumor will pan out, (when I have no idea:confused3) I also think that Star Tours FP's will be a heavy hit at rope drop:confused3

If we're any indication, you could be correct. We're now to this, so we're planning to use Unofficial Guide Touring plans, except for Star Tours. We'll still send a runner of TSM FPs, but our first ride will be Star Tours after signing up for Jedi Training. I suppose any other Star Wars fans may follow a similar strategy.

Be sure to check out some Disney blogs and WDW news, they keep adding stuff all the time and will keep you current, if you just use a guide you will miss out on alot of new things that are not in the books:scared1:

Well, I certainly wouldn't want to miss out on anything. Do you recommend any specific blogs, etc.? I feel like the touring plans in the book are good place for me to start with my lack of experience, but I am very open to other sources of information.

On the top of the page on the info bar, News will give you info on happenings at WDW, there is also some Blog links on this page in the Dis Updates section:cool1:

As for Blogs there are tons of them, my favorite is It's A Disney World After All

There are a bunch of new Meet & Greets that will start May/June
-Angelica POTC Blackbeards Daughter
-Refurbed Cars M&G for upcoming Cars 2
- Magician Mickey
- Phinias & Ferb:woohoo:

OK Commando Club, please tell me how this works.

We are going to HW in August & will want to go on both the new Star Tours & Toy Story Mania. How do you get on both? Do you send 1 person to get fast passes for TSM & the rest of the family to wait on line for Star Tours? Or do you get fast passes for both? Can you have fast passes for 2 different rides? Sorry for all the questions!:worship:

My question about the Jedi Training: is there an age limit? DH would probably love to do this and I'd love to make it happen for him but, well, he's 37.

OK, I'm new, so not really the expert on this, but you can only get one fast pass at a time, which will have a time printed on it for the time you can get another. My plan is to send one member for TSM fast passes while the rest sign up the kids for Jedi Training. Then we'll all meet and ride Star Tours without a fast pass.

It's so hard to be a commando and a DVC member! Most DVC members slow down in the parks or skip the parks etc. We are the total opposite. My poor brain nearly exploded today with planning. We can change our DVC reservations for our Dec. trip in 2 days. This morning I went into overdrive trying to come up with a plan! Most DVCers wouldn't take into consideration making rope drop when deciding on what resort to stay at! Thinking about BWV my husband was like..well we could leave early, skip the boat and walk to be at the front of the pack at DHS. Thinking well..how would rope drop be from the international gateway? We went over the transportation times and possibilities from every dvc resort to every park haha. We need an intervention!!!! :scared1:

That's a great plan!

If you want counter service in Future World think about going to Sunshine Seasons in The Land building by Soarin' instead of Electric Umbrella...I think it's WAY better.

Thanks. There are so many choices that it is pretty overwhelming to those of us with little experience. :)

That would be how I would do it:cool1:

Side Note, If your FP says for ex. 10:05-10:35 and you are doing something else at that time, you don't have to rush to get back to the ride, as long as you go back past the start time on the FP you will be OK, even if you get back at 5:00, it's basicly good for the whole day past the time:woohoo:

It's for ages 4-12

I'm not sure, but I think they might have some events adults can do during Star War Weekends in June:confused3 I'm going to be following events that go on this year, since we want to go to it in 2012:woohoo:
