Hey! I can't wait! It's cool if you don't know anything about vacation planners...any info would be helpful.

Lots of CPCM's, as well as regular CM's, here on the board. And welcome to the DIS, Shazy1212. Make sure to email Doc so you have access to the CM board, check the list here....http://www.disboards.com/index.php?s=

That's so cool, congratulations!!! :D :D

I hope you have a great time- I'd love to do the college program someday!

Thanks 'Dan Murphy'! I will be sure to do that. Who is 'Doc'?

Also, thanks to 'wdwgirl03'...you should go for it!

Oh, one more thing. :) You are from Chicago. Keep an eye out for our next Chicago DIS meet, probably sometime this summer. We just had one a couple weeks ago, we have about 4 a year here. Always fun. If you are in WDW then, well, come to the next.

And let us know where you are going to be working there at the World, some folks maybe can stop by and say hello while we are there, enjoying the Mouse, if you are working where that is possible. :wave2:

Check out the meet here..........http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=555316

Doc is one of the webmasters here on the DIS, and has 'the key' to the CM board. His email link is on the main menu I gave you, by the CM board section.

Hey Shazy! Congratulations! Vacation Planner is a great role -- you'll love it. Basically, you get to be in air-conditioned splendor all day, selling a variety of ticket media and helping guests -- wait for it -- plan their vacations. Most VPs I know usually went to work fairly early, but they were usually home around 3:30, so that's a pretty good deal!

The training, from what I hear, is longer than most (though not as long as hotel front desk), so make sure you bring enough Disney Look business clothes as I don't think all of your training is costumed.

What's your arrival date, if you don't mind me asking?

'Dan Murphy' -
Yep, I am from Chicago, and I will be in the city until the very end of summer. I will definitely check out that site for the next DIS meet! I will also keep you posted on where I am working. I'm sure it will be nice to see people from my home area! I will e-mail Doc asap. Thanks for clearing that up, I am new here...

Thanks! I have heard many good things about the Vacation Planner role. The air conditioned part is usually the highlight. I would say the getting to work early party and getting home around 3:30 sounds excellent. Right now, I am going to cooking school and I generally get up around 5, and get home in the late afternoon/early evening. So that schedule suits me. Thanks for the advice. About how long would you guess training was? Oh yeah, my arrival date is August 25, 2004.

I just smiled at the idea of "Disney Look" business clothes. :)

Congrats on that Shazy. I'm a WDW CP CM dad:earsboy: Actually DD completed the CP and is a regular CM now:earsboy:

Hi Soonerkate too:wave:

Congratulations!! The CP is WONDERFUL!! My DD did the program twice. She has now graduated from college and is a full-time CM in Entertainment--a face character. She loves working at WDW and definitely "learned the ropes" via the CP.
