WDW bus crash at Epoct

Oh my goodness what a nightmare. :( My prayers are with them!

Here's hoping for the best possible outcome.

I just saw this on Fox News. Said it happened on the loop on Epcot Center Drive. 5 hurt, 1 seriously. Prayers to everyone involved. Pretty soon, Disney is going to require everyone to be sitting in a seat on their buses.

Hopefully the driver has nothing more then a broken leg. I hear tell Disney just loves airlifting for broken legs.

Accidents happen. I think Disney has a pretty good track record so far.

I knew this would happen someday, Disney buses need some seatbelts.

Since the driver is the one who was seriously injured, I don't believe seatbelts or being seated was at all a factor here. The fact that the entire front of the bus is gone  would be the major factor in the seriousness of the driver's injury. I hope he/she is ok.

If it would have happened in my home town, the ambulances would have been lined up for miles. A friend of mine rear ended a city bus. Or let me say he accidentally tapped the back of a city bus. The bus driver didn't even know he was hit. They were carting people off on stretchers and neck braces and the ambulances were lined up. The police officer at the scene told my friend not to worry about it. He said they always do this. This obviously sounds much more serious. Lets hope everyone will be okay.

Wow...

Accidents happen, that's why they call them accidents.

Hopes and prayers for good medical care and healing and for all.

wow, very scary, hope all are okay.

i am surprised there are not more big accidents like this- with all the bus traffic (disney and not) through there, they have a pretty good record!

Hey Where in Louisiana are you? Im in Shreveport.

Sad to see this happen. But i can tell you that it happens a lot more in the US than people think. I work for a local transit company. We average about 14 wrecks a month. Minor to major wrecks.
The cost alone to repair that bus is going to be around $110,000 to repair. As far as seatbelts go. No transit system has seatbelts. Federal guidelines do not allow seatbelts for the reason of evacuations such as a rollover or fire.

I love how in the video the state trooper almost sounds like she's scared of Disney... "Oh, that's private property ! We can't do anything ! We're just investigating the crash, please don't beat us "

(well...words to that effect... ;) )

Like most of you reading this, I've ridden on those Disney buses when they are *packed* (perhaps over-packed ?) with people. So much so that even standing up was a tight squeeze.

Thank goodness that wasn't the case this time.

Although, the mind wanders about what could happen 'next time'.
