WDW AP Suggestions

Today I read somewhere that Disneyland is reimagining their annual passes. Then I went on to the comments section and read all the suggestions and complaints. So then I wondered what would be ideal AP at WDW.
My would be something like this:
It would be based on a level of access.
So base level would be just able to get into the parks.
A mid level would be the base plus just shows and non thrill rides.
Another mid level would be base plus ‘the best of WDW’ rides.
Top level is access to all
You could upgrade for a day/week from base to mid or from mid to mid.
What say you?

That would create a logistical nightmare for the ride operators, having to check everyone's tickets prior to entering the queue.

Agreed. Can you imagine the back up as people with the wrong type of ticket try to enter a line and then argue about it? Much easier to tier it by blackout dates or additional POS perks like discounts on food.

Plus, do we really want a level where people would only have access to get in and walk around? I personally want people in shows and queues so I can move in the walkways. A level that encourages people to just come, hang out, take really long meal breaks, and camp out for the best parade/fireworks spots seems like it would detract from the other guests' experiences.

No thanks to that. That's like going back to the ticket system.

I would be fine with something where you get a certain number of entries per year at different levels. So 20/50/unlimited or something.
Love the idea of x amount and days per year.
As an out of state AP holder, I would love something similar to the gold or silver select pass for everyone. We avoid Christmas week and all the other crazy busy times but don’t get the Benefit of the cheaper price.

I dunno, I think my platinum pass is pretty perfect. I think WDW has enough AP levels to suit most peoples needs, aside from out of state people who would rather have gold or silver level to cut down on cost. I'm out of state and don't want to be restricted, so I have no beef with how it is right now, and doing as you suggested would be a logistical nightmare. I also know VERY few people who would go for a pass where all you could do is enter the park, or even have ride restrictions.

My Grandma (RIP), the Disney haters (ex wife) are just some that come to mind. lol

I would be happy if they just bring it back like it was before. I'm out of state and always got the one where I had no date limitations, but no water parks. I can't remember what level that was.

With all due respect, have you ever stood in line at a FP entrance because a group that was not eligible completely blocked the line while arguing with a CM? Now extend that to a standby line for every attraction, every day, multiple times per day.
True. But why leave it up to a cm. Automate it. lol
I guess I was looking for alternate price points for my situation. Older parents that don’t get on any rides. Spouse and a kid that don’t like E rides. We got at least twice a year for four or more nights each time.

I guess we will find out soon. They are unraveling the restrictions. But something tells me it won’t be the same. Otherwise they would have given us a return to normal day or event.

I'd love to hear more about an automated ride access system because for the life of me I cannot imagine how this would work.
