Hiya

Got a couple of questions about Premium Annual passes and if anyone can help its the Disers.......

Considering buying the premium annual pass for Christmas this year, April next year , possibly October then Christmas 2012...........and have a couple of queries:

If I activate the passes on 31st Dec 2011 when will they expire? 30th or 31st Dec 2012

Are there blackout dates with these passes? (tried looking at Disney.com but it reads a bit like japanese stereo instructions)

We're thinking about the passes because we can get 10 day hopper and water park etc for £393 each non expiry from a US site, but on my calculations its only £405 for the annual pass (the free parking makes it worth it coz if we use the parking only once we've broken even)

Any advice?

Hi,

I think it would be valid up to and including the 30th then renew it on the 31st.

As far as I can make out there are no blackout dates but you would have to pay if there are any special events requiring seperate admission charges.

Hope this helps

Lyndon :)

we have premium annual passes for exactly the reason you mention - the regular tickets we could have bought were so expensive that for just a bit more we could get the premium annual pass..
and there is always the chance that we'll go back within the year.

there are no blackout dates with the premium annual pass.

also, in addition to the free parking you get 20% discount on all merchandise purchases - so be sure to ask...

even on stupid little stuff (like the sunscreen i purchased from the cart at the entrance to the animal kingdom)..

everywhere on property - all the stores...in the parks, in DTD and in the resorts....every store and every merchandise cart....but you have to tell them you have a premium annual pass....they won't ask you...

and be sure to say premium....that gives you a 20% discount....(the regular annual pass gets a 10% discount)..

so for example, we bought tons of tshirts and gifts...all of that was 20% off...that's a significant savings..

and there are also discounts on the behind the scenes tours...as well as the various recreational activities..

the point is, always ask if there's a discount..

they'll ask to see your pass and they might also ask for an ID....most of the places asked to see both....

You need to see what discounts they announce for each year, last time we had one the only discount was at World of Disney No other merchandise.

This is the current list http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/merchandise-discounts/

yes, that's how it was in the past - discount only on world of disney - i was completely shocked when we were there in august. absolutely everything disney owned had the 20% discount.
even the pictures that you buy at the ride attractions (e.g. tower of terror, etc).
all of those are also 20% off...

it used to be only merchandise purchased at world of disney - which is why i missed getting discounts for the first few days we were there...
then i finally thought to ask about it and then i was shocked to discover it was on absolutely everything we tend to buy....
even the little nothings i bought at carts in the parks...

since there were 6 of us, and 4 of us were doing some pretty serious shopping, we saved a bundle...
i estimate we saved about $300 on our purchases.

The pass would expire the same date you bought it - so 31st December :thumbsup2

I would get it as you get the unlimited access to all the parks and the discounts and you can buy the TIW card for restaurant discounts :thumbsup2

Any advice?

4 trips in 12 months! - love it:cool1:

PAP is fantastic value, even for a couple of trips. If you eat on site then its probably worth getting the TiW card too - mine paid for itself after just a couple of meals (although there are a few blackout dates on this e.g. NYE, Christmas day etc)
