WDW announces new and expanded services with Advent Health

I spent some time this morning looking at the offerings on the Advent Health website. Looks like they are promoting use of their health centers, clinics, etc. That's all. Lots of their links are for virtual healthcare access, and the info for a lot of their FAQ just repeat what has traditionally been on the WDW site. I see this as more of an organizational change than anything else, and I don't see a speck of info on there about DAS. Does anyone else see DAS being an entity of Advent Health, because I don't?

I cannot think of any reason Advent Health would be involved with DAS in any way with respect to their new partnership at WDW parks. The only remote connection would be if an individual needs First Aid services in the park for a disability-related need. But that would not involve DAS.

Agree.
I use First Aid most days on every trip for my daughter. Sometimes to give medication, sometimes to catheterize her. DAS is not involved with First Aid use. I see absolutely no reason or indication that Disney would involve Advent Health in the DAS process or that Disney is planning any changes to how DAS is issued.

Just as a warning even though we all are pretty sure that Disney will not require this while filling out the form so I can go to 6 flags with my daughter I saw that Sea World Orlando is on the list of places that require the special card with drs note.

Sea World Orlando gives a discount for people with disabilities who are not able to experience all of their attractions. Since that is a benefit over and above access, they can ask for proof.
The Accessibility Card used by 6 Flags doesn’t guarantee any accommodations According to this link. I’m not sure, but think I remember reading use of that card is part of the Autism Certification.

6 Flags used to designate which rides people with disabilities were allowed to go on, based on their disability and ability to do things sit unaided, brace themself, transfer themself and hold on with both hands. I don’t know if they still do that, but if they do, they probably would use MD information to determine.

I can see this being useful to people. How often do we see people who ask questions about a bed, recliner, hoist, dialysis, nursing care etc. Now instead of having to call around and find someone who can help them, that can start with Advent care for these questions.
I too don’t think this will impact the Das system. They are separate concerns.

I agree - it's really great that they are going to be a resource for that kind of information! I had hoped to also see in-room or onsite caregivers as an option as well (we have had some folks here who need that kind of service for a loved one when they travel) but did not see that listed.
