WDW and IOA/US trip day 3
Cast of characters:

Me - 41 (obsessed with Disney and planning, planning, planning)
DH - 45 ((goes along with my plans and the occasional How much is this going to cost me?)
DS - 15 (Loves Disney as much as I do)
DD - 11 (just glad to be on vacation anywhere)

Traveling with DB - 61 and his family (DW 50, DNEIC 8, DNEPH 11)

For some reason, when I first posted this, nothing showed up! So here we go again, hopefully it will take this time.

We decided that morning to do US since we did IOA the day before. The kids wanted to spend some time at the pool today since it was our last day before we head over to Disney. We decided to do the morning at the pool and then head over to US. We went to breakfast at "The Kitchen" at HRH which as I mentioned before does a buffet. We then headed out to the chairs. The pool is fairly large and has a water slide. The entire pool, though, is only 3ft 6" which may or may not appeal to everyone. Since I rarely swim, this was fine for me. Also, DNEIC is a new swimmer so it was perfect for her. We decided to sit fairly close to the slide near the front of the pool close to a cabana (which you can rent for a mere $100 per day). I brought my new book I just started reading (The DaVinci Code - highly recommend if you haven't read it) and settled in. THe kids had a blast! DH even went down the slide but because of the depth, he hurt his elbow and mangled his sunglasses...LOL see what happens when adults try to act like kids!! Anway, the HRH lifeguards were plentiful and they even organized a pool basketball and wiffle ball games. By 12:30, we decided to head back to the room to get ready for the park. We leave for the park about 1:15 and head over to Shrek. Because we stay on-site we had FOL pass and we bypassed a huge crowd of people. We still had to wait for the next show which was about 10 minutes. I have to say that I do like the show but was a bit disappointed. I think the story line is cute, etc but some of the special effects were a little too jerky (the seats) for me. I love how Disney does the Honey I shrunk the Audience, they do a much better job. After, the show DNEIC got her picture taken with Shrek. Really cute. Next we head over to the Mummy Ride. I have been waiting to do this and boy was I not disappointed! I love this ride. I love the theming and the drop's and turns. It is similar to Space Mountain (roller coaster in dark) but IMHO way better! If you get a chance, I highly recommend giving it whirl. After the Mummy, we decide to catch the 3:30 show for the BLues Brothers. Kids are getting hungry and we sit down in some shade in the street and get everyone hotdogs to eat while we are waiting. DD is looking very peaked so I encourage her to eat and drink. She is still looking overheated so I decide to take her to the first aid station which was located not to far from where the show was. The First Aid station was great. They gave her some tylenol and let her cool down a bit. The gave her two freeze pop's which she happily ate. After she was cooled and felt better, we left to meet up with the rest of the group. We missed the show :) but they all enjoyed it:(
We notice some black clouds rolling in so we decide to head over to Jaws. As we are walking, we can see lighting flashes in the sky. We get over to Jaws and it closed down! Maybe, because of the impending storm? Not sure...Anway, we decide that our best bet is to probably head over to the Nickelodeon studios for the next show. We backtrak all the way to the front (still watching those clouds roll over us) and make it to the line. We wait here about 15 minutes and they finally let us in. (At least we were out of the sun, they have a canopy overhang whle you wait in line that has fan's blowing on you....ahhhh,nice:) :) Plus, I am looking forward to sitting down in A/C! What could be nicer????LOL
The kids also enjoy this show, DNEPH got picked for one of the games. Last year, DD was picked to get slimed, that was a hoot! We were hoping maybe someone we knew would get picked this time, oh well.
Kids decide to do some shopping and it looks like the rain storm just passed us by. We all decide that it is time to go have dinner so we head out of the park and head over to Citiwalk. We stopped at, you guessed it, Margaritville! We again had seats on the porch. The man in stilts doing the balloons came by and made some balloon hats for the kids. DS was being a good sport for the younger kids and wore his hat. DB and SIL order Margarita's in the souvernier glasses. The kids have milkshakes. We order some appetizers for the table. DS orders hotwings and DNEPH decides to try them. He seemed to enjoy them. By the end of the meal, everyone is stuffed and DNEPH is having some stomach problems (we think it is the hot wings he tried :( so we let DS and DNEPH go back to the hotel while we settle the bill. I finish my margarita and my chicken ceasar salad which was great. We walk back to the HRH and settle in for the night. Tomorrow morning it is pack up and move over to the Disney Hilton! Stay tuned for Day 4
