We are going to WDW for three days in Aug. before we go on the Wonder for the 4 day cruise. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort.
My dilema is this. We are going to fly into Orlando the afternoon before our first day in WDW. We are considering booking another night at the CBR so we do not have to rush the next morning moving from a hotel by the airport.
Has anyone done this before or have any opinions on it?

Thank you.

How late will your flight get you into Orlando. If it is very late at night I would say stay at the airport hotel, but if it is before 7 pm or so I would head to the Disney hotel. Are you renting your own car, or are you taking DCL transportation at all.

We were going to do that with our trip, but the resort was booked full, what we found was a night at the holiday inn express with shutlle service to and from MCO for $55.95 ! we can't even get that rate in small towns here in Illinois.
that gives us a rest from the flight with some swim time and we will just ride the shuttle back to MCO in the morning to catch the shuttle with are transfers and get use of the park hoppers for the first day :D
(although it would have been nice staying at the world we saved over 200.00 for the night!)
just my 2 cents!
Have a great trip

We did this on our 3 land/ 4 sea in Oct...but we added the Discovery Magic plan and 3 additional days to it, so I certainly wasn't going to miss out on one character breakfast, so we flew out the day before. Our first 3 nights (the added on days) were at AKL, and when I called to add on a another night seperately there, it was like $350!!! So we ended up booking the extra night at ASMu for around $85, much more respectably priced, I may say! We just took Mears there (our flight got in around 6:30 pm), grabbed a late dinner in the food court and headed off to bed to prepare for our first day! (check in there was a nightmare, but that is another story!)

Some things to consider if you book at a WDW resort...you'll have to check in twice, once for your "extra" night, and then again the morning of your land/sea package. I had forgotten this step, as we were ready the first actual day of our package, we had to take a cab from the ASMu to AKL so darn early in the morning to get our keys to the world so we could get in the parks and eat with Pooh!

I have no idea how much one night at CBR is, but I was SHOCKED at one night at AKL. If you decide to stay at an all star resort to be close and get an early start for your first day, don't forget you need to actually check in at CBR to get your KTTW card!
