In all likelihood, it will be at least 4 years, if not 5 or more before our family gets back to Disney World. :sad1:

But on the bright side, there should be a wealth of new attractions and features to enjoy, giving us a whole new experience, compared to our last trip (July 2010).

But what will those attractions be? Some we know; others we can speculate on.

We know the FLE will be in place at MK.
There will be a new Star Tours at DHS.

What else?
— A new land in AK?
— A new e-ticket in DHS? A Monster Inc. coaster, maybe?
— A new country in the World Showcase?
— Renovated Future World attractions?

What will Disney World look like in 2015?

My guesses:

— A new land in AK?
No
— A new e-ticket in DHS?
Yes
— A new country in the World Showcase?
No
— Renovated Future World attractions?
Maybe

I agree. Though I hope AK does get a new land and that Figment gets Re-done/goes back to the original and potentially WS gets a new more thrilling ride like some of the country's originally had planned for them.

I'd think that even if the AK "new land" rumors turn out to be true, expecting it to open by 2015 might not be particularly reasonable. I can't see Disney pumping in the necessary $$$ to do anything on that scale until FLE is completed.

A new land in DAK don't count on it.

Seeing that the MI coaster would be a D then no E for DHS.

New country in WS is actually the mist likely believe it or not

Renovated FW attraction probaly not but one can only hope.

Obviously, some of the stuff I mentioned in the OP (new country, new AK land, etc.) is fan-boy rumor stuff.

Realistically, what changes could be expected? Surely there will be changes on par with the SE or HM rehabs, or new attractions along the lines of the Laugh Floor or the Nemo ride.

I'd like to hear speculators' best guess of what attractions might be added/changed in the next 4-5 years. (Not just predictions of what won't happen).

FLE attractions will start to open in late 2012 and into 2013 -- and since it's supposed to happen in "phases" with no firm date on when it will be complete, there's a chance the last of those rides (Snow White) won't open until 2014.

Between now and then, my guess is they will milk the new FLE attractions and openings and not have major new attractions elsewhere in WDW competing for attention and headlines.

Also, given how long FLE is taking, I doubt they have the will to actually announce, build and open a major attraction in that quick of a period anymore -- although they could certainly announce something and start on it between now and then.

Put it all together, and here's my best guess: The next major (E-level) new attraction won't open in WDW until 2015 at the earliest, probably later. It will probably be at DHS, but AK is a dark horse to get one. I can't guess as to what that attraction might be.

In that time, you will probably see a Journey Into Imagination makeover, possibly something at Everest that makes the Yeti a little less painful to watch (but not a true repair) and probably the return of Spectromagic at some point. And there's always a possibility that one or more of the shows will get remade (like Lights! Motors! Action! given a "Cars" makeover).

Realistically by 2015 I expect this.

FLE will be finished!!!!!!

MI coaster im told still crawling along WDI was in there last week. So expect announcement when the film comes out.

New film for Soarin and maybe Brazil to WS.

Beyond that don't expect much.

I have my doubts about the Soarin' rumors. I mean, I don't doubt that it'll happen eventually... but with some of the consistently longest waits in all of WDW, I just don't see them spending a penny to change a thing there.

Maybe down the road, if the crowds slow... but until then, I don't see them doing it.

I agree that the major part will be FLE and its assorted items. I could see the plans for HS with MI...but that is about it, except maybe a new show or something to come in. Epcot, I think the soarin film is an obvious, the old one is already wearing out and they will need to replace it by then.

I see some interactive ques with characters (the whole concept of they know your name, etc....probably a pay for this wristband thing). I also see the "reserve your ride time" or FP overhaul coming out by then.

AK Yeti repairs will be on track...to what extent who knows. I see an announcement of an expansion of AK, but it will be a long way off. Lot of assorted minor refurbishments, etc...but nothing breathtaking.

On the resort side, you will probably see the Grand Floridian DVC wing started by then, possibly even some sales starting. A matching tower to BLT plans being submitted (with all the rumors of if it will be cash vs DVC). Possible plans for a major refurbishment at Polynesian.....

I'm going to guess the obvious...

nothing of note.

Look...2015 is 3.5 years away...and based on the construction schedules we've seen...that means that it would take at least 3 years to get anything up and open.

So that eliminates a country pavilion, a major thrill/ hi-tech attraction of any kind, nowhere near enough time for a badly needed new land at studios or at DAK, and i don't see much else taking shape between now and then.

I would hope they could repair or refurb imagination so that it is not the eyesore of EPCOT...because 15 years ago it was the BEST pavilion in the park...and its sad that it has become what it is.

But it's been destroyed for 10 years and i don't see the knight in shining armor riding towards it either...based on the fact its been left to rot.

I think they will waste lots of time on outsourced food and merch such as the now disasterous pleasure island project and similar type projects. And we'll see more "secondary revenue" things like tours, festivals and programs, and additions for conventions, weddings, and wide world of sports.

And another DVC being built...all but for certain at the Grand Floridian now.

But - regardless of my feelings about their financial exploitation and shrinking reinvestment in WDW - the problem is time...there just isn't enough for them to work with.

we might a couple of kim possible type diversions...that would be a safe bet. but a new significant addition looks like a huge longshot.

Frontierland had two Etickets it doesn't need another what it does need is a C-D dark ride or two.

they could put anything, anywhere at this point and i'd take it.

a flat ride in the employee parking lot at wilderness lodge would be much more to look forward to in 3 years than what currently is on the docket...aka "nothing"

I guess.

im sorry but what is "FLE"

fantasyland expansion...

or as disney calls it: the only we got on the docket...or have had on the docket for two years...that actually adds something to what you pay 86 dollars a day to enter a gate to see...and we increase that price twice a year.

there are some :rolleyes1 who are really up in arms about what has been perceived as a lack of reinvestment in the WDW property...which may be over or under exaggerated...depending on your point of view

FLE will give MK a desperatly needed boost in capacity and hopefully help with the lines of Splash BTM and SM. My problem is there is nothing innovative about it.

What Disney should really do is find a solution to the yeti at EE. Star Tours II should be enough for DHS right now. AK, IMO, is the most glaring need at WDW for a new land
