WDW 1/2 now full & Marathon 65% full(6/1/07)

Disney justed updated their website to show the 1/2 is 60% full and the marathon is 50% full. Looks to fill earlier than last year.

BTW, the DL 1/2 is now 65% full.(3/21)

I need to tell DSis. She was planning to make the WDW Half her first-ever event. She started training Jan 1. Then she broke her ankle in the Valentine's Day ice storm. Now she's on the fence about actually doing the Donald. (Who can blame her? First timer, and all.)

Dang. Last thing she needs right now is added pressure. But, I gotta tell her. It would be worse if she decided to register, then found the race sold out.

OH MAN... are you saying I have to make the commitment? I was waiting to see how well I did at my 1/2 in May before I decided on doing th Full or sticking with the 1/2.

I am leaning towards the Full as long as I have some WISHers to lean on if I fall back too far!!!!

I just registered DH today. We were waiting for that capacity update -- not b/c he wasn't sure he wanted to do it, but b/c we just hated giving Disney our money any sooner than necessary! I registered for the goofy so they're already holding $200 plus for me and I hated to give them another $100 for DH so soon. I was hoping to wait till early summer, but figured I'd better get him in now.

This does seem quite a bit earlier than last year.... but then again it seemed like last year didn't fill up as quick as it usually does.

At this rate I wouldn't be suprised if it's full by mid-May!

I had previously predicted when the Goofy filled that the marathon would fill in May and the 1/2 in June. Looks to be off for the 1/2 as I think it will fill even earlier . LY 1/2 by 8/10 & Marathon on 9/23.

I'm hoping I can register for the full after the Flying Pig half in May, but I'm going to keep my eye on the percentages. I may have to make my decision a lot sooner than that. I bet if they are not closed already by May, there will be a big bump from all the runners going to the Minnie expo.

Can you register at the Minnie Expo?? That would suck if the race filled up because of that. My 1/2 is May 20, and I am hoping to just watch the percentages until then.

My guess is that there will be a table for the marathon at the Minnie Expo. I bet they figure if you come in for one Disney race, chances are you will register for another.

I'll expect numbers to increase faster as now people get worried about getting in. The Goofy was like that. Goofy was 40% full on 1/15(7 days into reg), 60% on 1/22, and full by 2/6. The 1/2 & Marathon won't fill that fast but all those on the fence for the 15th Ann medal will be jumping off the fence. As runners complete races in the next 2 months, they will know if they are ready for WDW.

I agree that you have at least another month before any race fills.

I was hoping to wait until after the Minnie to decide. But now I dont think we have that much time.

I really want that Mickey medal (I have for 2 years now) but I just dont know if I can A) do it and B) commit the time to train for those LRs

Ahh! I just checked it this morning and it was still at 65%. Guess it is time to go register.....I wanted to wait until after the minnie, but I guess I will just do it.

Anyone know when Race for the taste filled last year? And how soon do you think the new ToT will fill? I want to do all these races, but I really don't want to bombard my cc with all these fees in one month

ToT is so new that I can't imagine it filling soon. Only us die hards know about it. I would expect RFTT not to fill(if it does) until another few months. A lot of RFTT runners are kipping it this year for ToT.

Robert, if I print out the DVC form from your website, do I still have to pay that processing charge? It is $6.68! And do you think if I send it in the mail I will get in before it fills? Also, do you receive any type of confirmation? I know I read that for the minnie people didn't. Thanks!
