I don't like BBQ sauce, absolutely hate it.
So, if I order the skillet at WCC, I know the beans are out, but what about the meat? I am not that familiar with American-style cooking, so does all the meat in the skillet have this BBQ-sauce on it, or not?

Thanks!

Just as the PP had said, it comes in a seperate cup....however they may have a hint of it cooked right in, but I am not sure. The skillet is so good, but if you don't like BBQ, there is other things on the menu that you can order from that doesn't have the BBQ on it. I'm sorry to hear that you are not a BBQ fan either because WCC has a really good tasting BBQ sauce, that is what brings us back each time.

Personally, I'd avoid the skillet. We did not care for it at all and DH actually got sick on the meat in the skillet.

We had the skillet and the only meat item on the skillet with BBQ sauce was the ribs. The chicken, pork, and shrimp did not have it but there was a seasoning on the chicken. It also had mashed potatoes & Corn on the cob.

It was really good and we enjoyed the skillet.

Why do you want to eat at a country western style restaraunt if you don't like BBQ? Hope it works out.

You may be able to ask for no BBQ sauce on the ribs. I know sometimes these things aren't avoidable but you never know.

How do you know this? I just wonder, because if your DH ate the whole "skillet meal", it is probably the LEAST likely that the MEAT made him sick. All the meat in that skillet is smoked, and it's extremely difficult to get sick off of smoked meats. Plus, how do you know that it was specifically the meat that made him sick? I would probably target the lettuce in the salad as the MOST likely culprit of food borne illness...if that is indeed what your DH got from that meal. Tainted lettuce (washed with bad water at the processing plant, or cross contaminated) is the most likely candidate out of everything served at that particular meal to make one sick. Just saying...

I love the skillet at WCC. And, there is NO SAUCE on any of the meats. They are smoked, so they have a smoky flavor, but there is no sauce on any of it when they bring it out to you.

I did as well. I actually thought I had food poisoning, but I think it might've just been the extremely fatty meat.

I know because the only things I didn't try out of the awful skillet was the ribs/chicken and he was very ill the rest of the night after he ate them. I'm not saying it was the sauce but as the previous poster indicated it may have been the fatty meat. I know some people love the skillet--and I'm happy for them. We both thought it was horrible, along with the service.
