I'm trying to decide between Chef Mickeys and Whispering Canyon Cafe for our Dinner. Never been to either but havce been to CM for the Character Breakfest. Have two kid (11/9).

Which is better !

We've eaten at both for dinner on our last two trips.

My kids much prefer CM. Though I'm personally not crazy about the food (it's typical Disney buffet stuff), it's decent and very kid friendly. The atmosphere is silly and Mickey and friends are everywhere which is always fun. I'm not sure how much your kids like characters at their age, though.

WCC has a lot of fans, but we didn't like it last time. We found the antics had gone down a lot since our previous visits, and our food was not that great this time. My kids didn't really like it.

When we were planning which places to return to on our upcoming July trip, all three of my kids requested Chef Mickey's. No one, not the kids, DH, or I mentioned WCC.

But again, you'll hear lots of different opinions on these boards.

Now...see....I would definitely say WCC! The setting at WL is much more interesting than the Contemporary and with the ages of your children, I would think the antics of WCC would be more interesting than characters. Also, the food is much better!!

We've done both and we'll be doing WCC again and skipping CM.

We LOVE WCC for breakfast, lunch, and Dinner. The atmosphere is so fun and light hearted. We especially loved the dinner with the pony races and all the hooting and hollering. We have ADRs for dinner on our upcoming trip in June and this time we are taking my ILs who have no idea what this restaurant is all about. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when the waitstaff starts to do their antics....my ILs will have a blast because they love to joke around and try to get (me) embarrassed when we go out. :rotfl: On the flip side, we have never done CM. We do have an ADR for our upcoming trip as well. My Dbro and his fiance went there for dinner in Feb and loved it, they told us since we have kids (6 & 3), that we HAVE to go. :goodvibes

I have done both...every year for the past few years and I love both. However, I think the food is a little better at WCC and I do love the atmosphere! But, I still like the food at CM as well and of course I love the characters! If you are doing another character experience that trip I would say do WCC. It gets crazy in there and kids at that age would definitely have fun...just have one of them ask for ketchup! Trust me...they will laugh and so will you! We are going in less than a week and I am excited for this one cause my friend has never been and his sense of humor is bigger than mine!
