After reading all the wonderful things about WCC and how much fun it is, I thought it would be a great idea for my 3 kids, husband & !. I made my adr 180 days in advance, and checked in last Saturday night...while waiting for our table to become available, we saw all kinds of tables getting into the action- pony races, some comedic interaction, people getting up dancing....we were anxious. We were seated however......in the BACK of the restaurant AROUND THE CORDER with a HUGE WALL dividing us from the rest of the restaurant. we could see NOTHING, but the 2 other tables around us. I almost cried! you could hear the action but not see it!!! You could hear "WHO'S GOT THE KETCHUPPPPPP?" AND HAD no idea what that meant!
I rarely complain to any restaurant magagers nornally, but I had to express how upset I was. I walked up and asked for the manager and explained that we made our adrs for this restauarant for the atmosphere and we didnt just walk in tonigt, we made them 180 days ago! She politely said that sometimes people actually request that spot, for some quiet, and that she would see about moving me...but, the "shows"- the interaction- wasn't going to happen again for another 30 minutes anyway. In the end, we decided to stay with our table, by the time the entertainment was beginning and they had found us another table, we had started eating dinner. Our waiter was nice enough to take our 3 kids out to the main area when we were done and start up the hokey poked, telling the crowd of people eating that they were feeling left out! That was very nice of him. I read this board religously before we left and I don't think there was another post about this, unless I missed it. I just wanted everyone to know, so that when you go and give your name for your ressie, you tell them right away, you want to be seated in the main area, where all the action is! (unless you want the quietness, if you do- they have a great table for you behind a wall!_)

We ended up at the same table, while we felt left out, I was also glad for the quieter spot. By the end of dinner, I had a raging headache from all the shouting and banging of the tray tables. Food was very good though.

Thanks for the tip, we have ADRs in June. I really want to be in the middle of everything because we are taking my ILs with us and they have no idea what this restaurant is and all the antics that go on. I really hope they pick on my FIL, because paybacks are a b*&#!. He is a very loving guy, but yet he LOVES to pick on those he loves back....Lucky me.:rotfl2:

Same thing happned to us but for Ohana. We were in the back and literally couldn't see anything. My kids wanted to participate so bad my husband kept leaving his meal and bringing them to Hula & limbo.

DBF & I ended up in that same section too (actually, the table next to the fireplace with the hidden mickey!) We didn't mind because no kids for us yet so it was quiet and we were getting lots of attention as kids were coming over trying to find the hidden mickey, which I enjoyed helping them with! After some tips from our server I was able to find it and help out the kids that came by.

I would definitly think for a family with kids I would make sure to request the main area when making ADR's. Sorry for your experience but it seems like it worked out in the end anyways.

Tanx for the heads up don't wanna miss anything when we go!! :goodvibes

We always ask for an table in all the action. While the pony races are every 30 minutes, the action is all the time. Anyone can ask for the ketchup and they all hollar. I would have moved immediately. I also make sure to ask for a CM that really gets into it so that we have a really good time.

In 'Ohana we would like to be as far away as possible from that annoying lady that is the so called entertainer!
