WCC... does anyone like it??

I actually just added a reservation today for our trip in August. We went last July and had a really good time. Both DH and myself are not huge fans of bbq, so I was hesitant to order the skillet. But we decided to for the whole experience. Well most things I did not like, no fault to the restaurant...just because I don't like bbq. But the chicken breast was amazing! I asked for more chix breast and was brought out a few more no problem, even though we hadn't eaten much of the skillet. We also really liked the cornbread and corn on the cob. The mashed potatos were just OK.

But we're going back because we had so much fun there last year!

We had a great time once we got seated, had ADR for 7:30 and got to the table at 8:45!!

We were seated next to the rail by the lobby and had so much fun with the ketchup and all:banana:

There were 8 of us and 6 ordered the skillet and 2 ordered just chicken. Our server kept the drinks coming and was very interactive:cool1:

We are not going back this time just because there are other places we want to try.:yay:

This last trip was the first trip in about eight that we didn't have WCC for breakfast. :sad1: We enjoy it for breakfast or dinner and, having said that, I'd rather go there for meatloaf than anywhere else. We have plans to eat Thanksgiving dinner there this year and we might squeeze in a breakfast there too.

I haven't eaten here for years and years, but I did like it. I guess. Well maybe not since I haven't been back in 10 years! :lmao:

I think it's pretty good. I never had the skillet but any of their regular menu items we ordered we enjoyed. That includes maple glazed porkchops (which was one of may favorite WDW dishes ever), steaks, pot roast, maybe meat loaf? I don't remember what DH had but it's all good.

WCC is a must for us each trip and now we will be staying at WL, so I considered eating there more than once during the trip. I don't understand the negative reviews about the food, to each his own. the skillet has always been very good and all you can eat doesn't hurt. :) the atmosphere is good as well, just don't ask for ketchup if you don't want to be part of the show.

don't let other peoples reviews keep you away from a place you want to try, the only way to know is to try for yourself. if you don't like it you don't have to go back.

We ate there our last two trips and liked it both times. We share the skillet and love it! I'm a little sad that our upcoming trip the kids didn't pick here, but we are trying new places so that is ok. Go and enjoy!

We ate there a few weeks ago, and it was one of the best 3 meals of our 8 day trip (others were TRex and Flametree BBQ). 4 of us got the skillet, and the cornbread was so good! Ds12 got the ribeye, and said it was delicious. We tried to make another adr for later in the week, but nothing was available. This is definitely a must-do for our next trip.

In general, I think dining reviews are very much a shot in the dark. It is probably better to compare to something everyone knows. Is it like Chillis? Is it like Outback? Is it like iHOP?

When we ate there we really enjoyed it too! THe kids loved the huge glasses, and we got tons of ketchup when we ask for some for DD fries! :cool1: It was fun!

Hated it; won't go back (it's just Hollywood & Vine on the NEVER return list). Food was awful, service was awful.

However, everyone has different tastes, expectations, likes and dislikes. Some people love Brown Derby...we didn't care for it. Some people hate Mama Melrose and we've always had great meals and great service there. This can be said of almost every restaurant--everyone is different.

This restaurant it definitely personal taste. My dh and I love it, but my sister hates it and we went together. It was my dh's number 3 choice for this trip (after Ohana dinner and breakfast), mainly because he loves the shakes you can get with the meal. The kids thought it was fun and the food is pretty good.

I would suggest giving it a try and deciding for yourself.

What I find the report in the Herald and the original press release, is that nobody seems to have very checkted the deep white matter of the painting is done, and there is no mention of those who do something for the ducks.
