WCC... does anyone like it??

We love it. Have been twice, love the skillet, love the entertainment, love the smoothies. Ask to sit in the main dining room so you're in the mix! Otherwise it's not as much fun!

We were there for dinner and didn't enjoy the food at all (yes...skillet!). It actually would have been OK with us if we had been entertained like we were expecting. Our server was a little meh, and though we waited 1.5 hours, there never was a pony express during our meal. We were on the DDP, but if we had had to pay OOP for this meal, DH and I would have been REALLY disgusted (it was pricey for what it was)!

I saw some other items on the menu that looked appealing, fresh trout comes to mind. I wish I had ordered something different. With the skillet, it seemed like they concentrate more on quantity than quality of the food. The salad was delicious! It went sharply downhill from there. We were staying at the WL, so we didn't have to go out of our way, and seeing the lodge itself wasn't a factor in the dining experience for us, so maybe that played a role in our perspective too. Artist Point and Roaring Fork were both terrific for what they are (signature dining and relatively limited quick service). Friends of ours went to see WL and had a bite at RF and they really enjoyed the experience. It's also a nice break from MK for lunch.

We thought it was only okay. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't spectatcular. What really sways me to give it a negative review, though, was our service. It was so slow and extremely unattentive- the worst I've ever had in WDW- perhaps the worst (as far as inattentiveness) anywhere. As a server myself, it takes a lot to annoy me, since I know what they go through, but yep, she annoyed me! So, I guess I would say to give it a try, but I hope you get a better server!

My family and I loved our lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe last March.

I will tell you, however, we didn't have any of the ketchup-stealing antics or people waving bandannas over their heads or whatever. The restaurant was very empty at the time we were there. But our sever was awesome and our food was scrumptious.

I reviewed our meal in my last dining review!

I'm confused. I think lots of people like it. When we stayed at the WL, we tried to book an impromptu lunch or dinner ADR there during our 6 day stay. No dice. We could book plenty of other restaurants - popular ones. But WCC was booked solid every day.

We love it! It is the only restaurant that our boys specifically request. How can you top all-you-can-drink milkshakes? Tons of food, pretty tasty (we liked the ribs), and super fun. The boys also loved the Lincoln Log table - we could hardly get them away.
I love the hotel - I've never stayed there, but it's on my wish list!

I posted a negative post about WCC, but that was based on Thanksgiving dinner and really terrible server. We still like the BBQ skillet although we haven't tried it in a year or so. We also enjoyed breakfast there. We will be going back on our next trip, I'm sure.

We have gone to the WCC on our past 2 trips (1 breakfast and 2 dinners). We enjoy the food and the atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again or recommend it to others.

We ate there about 2 weeks ago, and no one in the group was overly exicted about it. The food was good, no one had any complaints with that ( no skillets ;)) The noise was unbelievable. We were there for about an hour eating, and there must have been about 30 calls for ketchup, another 10 birthdays, and a bunch of other stuff. I think if it had just been a few times, we would have thought it was funny, but you literally couldn't hear anyone else at the table during the whole meal. Even the kids weren't happy with everything going on.

I certainly would tell others to try it - the food was good. But just know how loud it will be.

we have been to WCC and while i loved the food, i was in bad mood from something earlier and didn't enjoy the atmosphere, so it is somewhere that we will definatly try again in the future!

My family and I went the first week in Dec and LOVED it.
We got the skillet and it was great- salad was wonderful, ribs- tender, meaty, not fatty at all, fell off the bone, Brisket- very good. It was our favorite meal of the trip. Infact we cancelled CP on our last night as we were able to get back in WCC again. My very picky husband has requested we go there every other night when we go back again.:rotfl:

I've been to the WCC twice (Aug. 08, Dec. 09) and enjoyed it. Both times I ordered the Skillet. I've learned never to judge a restaurant until I try it myself. I've been warned about WCC, Coral Reef, and Ohana and found all three of them to be very good.

We went for the first time in November. It was a highlight of the trip! Our waitress was wonderful. The little guy with us loved the pony race and we loved watching him. While I don't know that we'll do it every trip, it's a definite for 1 trip/ year.

We didn't get seated in the main dining room and it definitely affected our experience. We were there when it opened for dinner, so I'm not sure why they sat us all by ourselves on the other side of the main room, but we felt so isolated and out of the action. The food wasn't bad, and the skillet was sooo filling. I'm more into the atmosphere of a restaurant and I just didn't like being separated, pretty much out in the lobby with people walking by while we were trying to eat.

DH and I both had the skillet and unfortunately were very disappointed. We love the Lodge and will return to WCC on another trip, we just won't order the skillet.

WE have eaten here 3 times. Each time I ordered the skillet. It's very good and filling!! The last time in May 2008, we had a late reservation and ordered the skillet. We asked for more of one of the items in the skillet (they brought out another full one) We really didn't want all that food and no way could eat it. The server asked if we wanted it packed up for later! I couldn't believe that we walked out of there with a huge bag of food! Enough for 5 of us for lunch the next day!

My complaint is also about the service. We had a 5:00 ADR and we were 1 of the first families seated for dinner. We were seat in the main dining area and as we were seated the greeter said our server was "Bob". Ok, we then waited about 10 minutes to see "Bob". Other tables around us we being served by 2 other ladies and they had ordered their drinks and were having them delivered and were moving onto taking dinner orders; still NO "Bob". Well, finally he shows up, can hardly recite the milk shake flavors and was coming up with some strange flavors and is slurring his words. DH and I looked at each other and thought "OMG "Bob" is drunk!" Well we decided maybe he wasn't and we'd see how things go. He comes back to take our drink orders and pulls out a crayon to write with, when he realized he had a crayon, he chuckled and finally fumbled with a sharpie. He did what we thought was writing our drink orders and said he'd be back. So, we resume looking at the menu (we are now 20 minutes at the table!). He comes back and says "What was it you wanted to drink again, I've lost my slip?", so we tell him again, but DH says we are ready to order too, and "Bob" says "OK". He took our order and disappeared, tables all around us are getting their orders and we are like what's up with this. So, DH gets up and goes to the check in area and explains he is concerned about our order and our server, so a manager comes out of an office area up front and then our server follows her back to her office. He then is sent out of the restaurant and we got a new server. Our drink orders had never been made, our food order had never been turned in. All in all it was a horrible experience! We were there over an hour and we were rushed, we had a server who we got dumped onto and she was already running around like crazy, we'll never go back again. There was no excuse for the server being as drunk or stoned as he was. He could barely carry on a conversation, I don't know how he drove there or home.

Well I also like WCC and we enjoyed a lot. Food was really good and we have also ordered skillet. The atmosphere was awesome that time we really enjoyed all the moments.

We've eaten there five or six times -- the first one was in 1999 and last one was during Christmas 2007. We've gotten the skillet every time, and always enjoyed it. I don't think the meal is as impressive as it once was (Remember when WCC had its own barbecue sauces and there were like four of them?), but my boys are real carnivores and have always enjoyed it.

My family and I have a reservation here for our next trip because we wanted to try a new restaurant that we have never been to. Now, I'm undecided if we should keep the ressie or not! :confused3
