WC beaches

Our WC cruise is on the fantasy this September. None of the excursions sound interesting to me. Honestly I am a complete beach bum and would be most happy just finding a beach at each port and plopping myself down to enjoy the sun and sand. Are there beaches that are easy to get to at the WC ports that don't necessarily require that you go through a Disney excursion (overpriced!)? Has anyone does this before? Preferably places that are easy/quick/cheap to get to so that I can head back to the ship if I need a break from the sun or for lunch or something and then get back out to the beach afterwards if that's what strikes my fancy.

In Cozumel we took a cab to Paradise Beach. It was AWESOME!! Loved the beach and they have a pool, a bar and they serve food, and their bathrooms were clean. There were lounge chairs and huge inflatable toys in the water. There is a fee but it was reasonable. You can get a cab right at the port, it was very convenient.

I'll second this! We have gone to Paradise Beach twice now and plan to go again this summer.

Great question! We are on this cruise in Oct, and I've been wondering what to do. Many of the excursions are pricey and age restrictive (two families, 6 kids range from 4-13).

We walked to the beach in GC. Came off the dock, turned left and walked along the road for about 15 mins. There was then a small track on the left that went down to the beach. No facilities, but we had a lovely relaxing morning on the sand and swimming before walking back to the ship for lunch. There was a bar just to the left of the track to the beach. It was open when we were walking back, don't know how long it had been open though as we had walked around the corner of the beach. We had an excursion booked but it was cancelled as the port was stopping all the tenders early due to forecast bad weather coming in. Ours was the only cruise that stopped at GC that day, the others all cancelled but we were very pleased it did. It was a lovely relaxed morning and didn't cost a thing!
Eta: and we saw the most amazing iguanas - one of the highlights of the trip for DS!

We have done a couple of excursions in Cozumel, Caymans and Falmouth that weren't that expensive and we were pretty pleased with them overall.
Playa Mia in Cozumel has a nice beach area as well as pools and a lunch buffet , drink vouchers and transportation included in the pricing. We went there 2 out of the 3 times we have been in Cozumel and really enjoyed it.
The Caymans has the beautiful seven mile beach right nearby as you get off the tender.
Because it is a tender, you would want to plan a bit of time to get to the beach, back for lunch and then hit the beach again. We typically get off the ship and wander around a bit and then get back on to enjoy a less crowded Aqua Duck.
Falmouth has a Green Grotto Caverns tour and a beach/lunch stop included in that excursion. It was very reasonable and we enjoyed it a lot. The food was really good too!
On our first trip to Falmouth, we went to the Good Hope Estate but there was no beach stop with that one. But there was interesting history...and and really good lunch!

You could always take a bus to Ochos Rios and experience Dunns River Falls, which I hear is exquisite, but they tend to be a bit pricey.

Your kids would really love Paradise Beach in Cozumel! Ours did! There is something there for all ages kids and adults!

We took the public bus to 7 Mile Beach in Grand Cayman. The bus dropped us off at Public Beach and we hung out at a beach bar that rented lounge chairs and umbrellas. It was great and cheap!
