hi michelle and Jan

hope your mum is feeling better,Michelle...

Oh Greek Festival sound good...

Jan

Were you staying at Deck 1 while you were crusing at Panama Canal?

I cannot remember if if was you or another usa couple

last Feb, My husband booked Disney cruise for next year but he booked Deck 1:confused: because he felt the flight will be expensive for come home from San Juan...:confused3

Wish he booked Deck 5!!

Scottishwee35

We did have deck one for one of our Disney Cruises--may have been WBPC. I could go look if you want to know. I am not sure the cabin was any cheaper than an inside stateroom on any other deck. We always get inside staterooms. When we want a view we go to the top deck !!

I bet you will enjoy the cruise as long as you are on it!! :)

Friday was my last wound doctor appointment. I only have scabs left on both of my legs. The doctor says they still need to heal underneath, but there is no open wound anymore. They are dry and don't hurt. I have prescribed lotion that I have to apply to them but that's all. Then I still have to wear the stretchy coban on my legs to keep the edema down. When the scabs go away then I can go in the water. I still can't go in the tub, pool or ocean yet. I asked. They have to be completely healed and closed. So it will take a little longer, but this is the best that they have been in six years.

 !!! CONGRATS ON THE IMPROVEMENT IN YOUR LEGS !!! :yay:

:goodvibes do you think all the sleeping and lying around kept your legs even with your heart so the edema could go down and not only helped your tummy get better but also the leg infections since you were not walking as much? :confused3

We were all settled in the rental condo by Labor Day so got in a nice bike ride. All summer the weather was something yucky or we had a conflict. A bit over 7 miles to a McD for a come or McDoubles and then home.

:)

The lady who bought our condo is ripping out the kitchen walls, dropped ceiling in the entry way, half wall between the living room and dining room and the raised living room floor to make an open concept entertainment-great room. We sat and chatted a couple days last week while the crew were working. Two nice young men who work for her contractor.

I take a friend shopping almost every Wednesday after Bible Study. She is not a safe driver and did not pass the test for reflexes etc. so lost her license. This gets her out if the house. Not sure what she will do when we move. I hope by then she decides to move to the independent living apartments of a Senior Housing Community.

The other lady I used to help and was worried about passed away. I worried about what she would do when I moved since most of her "friends" were "users" and took advantage of her generosity. I wanted her to live somewhere with nice people. I thought i would leave her, i did not expect she would leave me. But I am glad she is in Heaven with God as there is no better place to live. :goodvibes

I have been busy with my scrapbook for the Mediterranean cruise. Tom took a lot of pictures. I took some. But we really did not remember everything the guides said and some had thicker accents than others so I am looking things up and writing captions on the pictures that are as descriptive as possible. It is fun but time consuming. I am learning a lot though as one thing leads to another.

:)

Good night. :wave2

Try to get in as much exercise before the cold weather comes in...

Open concept seems to be the "in" thing these days... I like it in some circumstances... we have it in our house. Some day I dream of having a nice big kitchen with an island...

Good for you driving all the friends in need... I'm beginning to help out some of mom's friends when they can't get to Drs. appts...

& I'm sorry about your friend... but I guess God took care of it for you. :littleangel:

hope you will share some pics with us! Which one did you do? I'd love to do Greece...

had to take in most of my plants last night. So now I have an herb garden in my dining room. Not sure how long they will last. I really should move things up to the office (direct sunlight in the AM...)

& my habanero plant has lots of buds still :scared1:

We went to Venice. Our pictures are no where as good as what you find on the Internet so there is nothing really good to share--but Tom took them and I am doing Internet research with mapping programs to try to figure out what we saw since the guides all had accents and the cruise was so port-intensive that our memories are a jumble.

I can tell you that those cute bridges in Venice-- the ones the gondoliers go under while standing-- those are stairs! And our "Secret Venice Walk" DCL excursion guide challenged us to count the steps. So, I did. The ups and the downs.
:scared1:
633 stairs
:faint:

And gondolas--they are W~O~B~B~L~Y!! VERY wobbly. The gondolier did not sing or talk except to tell Tom and the other man not to move around when taking pictures.

They chose who would ride with us --probably to balance the load--so we did not know the other 4 people either.

Amalfi Coast is LOVELY!!

And now we have done it. Tom said no more port-intensive cruises until he retires and can go home and rest up.

:)

The bus drove through Positano but we stopped and got to explore a bit in Amalfi. The towns are built on the mountain-side-- there is no flat land so there are stairs everywhere. Instead of streets or alleys there are staircases but no railings and few landings.

We were just wondering who would come and talk to us over here... we've been getting lonely...

Now that HOLLY had ditched us... :rotfl2:

The med cruise sounds glorious!

Sorry I haven't been checking in. We are swamped around here now that it's fall and school is in session. I'm trying to sneak in a trip to FL as soon as possible, but airfare and scheduling and $$ are not cooperating. Luckily, we do have a Carnival cruise in 4 weeks which will be stopping in Pt Canaveral and we are planning to spend the day at Downtown Disney with breakfast at Ohana. It's just not ENOUGH Disney for me.
