Michelle - are you still "out"? Trying to do as much as you can on your phone?

Hope you're feeling ok.

:yay:

Couldn't really dis from my phone. The files were too large to open and then I'd just see lots of adverts, etc.

I can't believe how chatty you guys get when I'm not around.. :faint:

I'm ready!! Just say the word!!

:tinker::tinker::tink::tink::tink::butterfly

NO KIDDING!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know, I know, been MIA for a while.... Can't let you have all the fun though :rotfl2:

The ship won't know what's hit it! :cool1::cool1::rotfl::rotfl:

So have I. But this is something I definitely want to be a part of...

:thumbsup2

Oh YES!!! :goodvibes Pretty in pink please... :cloud9:

Sorry to hear this, Deb.. Take care, sweetie.. xxx

Boy.. you mention reunion and booze and look who shows up!!!! Hello ladies!!!!

Hi Michelle :wave2:

Morning Marilyn! :flower3:

Just popping in to have a placeholder. I do like the idea of a reunion cruise. For us I don't think we can do anything until 2014. As far as exact timing however, it will certainly depend on work schedules and kids schooling. Right now I am so busy with work I'm not even planning anything very far into February!

Hide the strawberries!!! :duck::duck::duck:

Michelle, did you drop your laptop to John to take to the kid to work on? That's my guess! :) Bummer that you can't see DIS well on your phone. That's the only way I access it. :thumbsup2 Sorry about your increased pain and upcoming tests. :hug:

Figured out why I'm so tired. I've gained enough weight that I'm snoring again. Ugghhhh.......

Need some patience vibes sent my way please. I haven't had time to mention this yet, but planning was underway for Tyler to get his Disney fix but now it's not happening. I don't get paid vacations anymore (since our big office transition a year ago). I can take time off but just won't get paid. It's not in my budget to lose pay right now because I'm working on saving for our annual summer trip up north. So Heather offered as an early birthday present to treat Tyler to 3 days at Disney if I could afford his airfare and send him down for spring break. I got his dad's approval for him to fly alone, and all was good. BUT.....plans needed to be altered a bit for a variety of reasons, and the new plan was that they were going to take him on the Dream 5/7 with a day at Disney before. He would only miss 3 days of school, and his teacher approved. But that happens to be his dad's week, so I needed his approval to switch weeks and DCL would need us both to sign authorization forms, of course, allowing him to travel without us. Just found out today his dad said no. That's his right, of course, but Tyler is going to be devastated. Dad told me we could discuss his reasons tonight but I'm too mad to be reasonable in a conversation about it, so I just said "No need, but can you please let Tyler know?" I shouldn't be so sad about it but he was so excited about it since he didn't get to go on the Hawaii cruise. But I need to keep in mind that he's certainly not deprived because many kids never have the opportunity to cruise like he has. Sorry to whine, but it kills me thinking how crushed he'll be. And knowing how Tyler never wants to hurt anybody's feelings, he'll probably tell his dad "it's OK, I understand" and his dad will never know how much it's NOT ok. :(

OH NO.....I'm not surprised that he ruined it for Tyler.....he always does. This is nothing new. The putz. Can Tyler still go on the plane to WDW without going on the cruise, since he already said yes to that part? Something is better than nothing.

Just checking in...

Here in Jersey for a Drs appt and a special but ohhh too quick little bit of a drive by dis meet...

Deb... Tell John I owe him big time for meeting me... I'm sorry my geography was off a bit... :drive: but my Garmin didn't know where the diner was either... :rolleyes2 I only wish that you could have joined him and hoping that next time it's a longer visit with lots of dis gossip!!! (and some bubbly!!!)

Another time.....

I will hold a few of you in suspense as to the reason for the meet... but I hope to be back here with you all soon...:surfweb:

Sorry.. no pic... it was late (as was I :blush:) dark outside... and I really didn't even think to take one. It was nice to meet the "Kid"...

Doesn't the kid look like John's clone?

Got to sit in that wonderful Jersey traffic today... reminds me every time why I left... and the potholes... Only in Jersey could you have a pothole big enough to swallow your car...

Went to see the neurologist for my annual exam/meds check. I've been having an increase in pain in the last couple of months and little zaps of nerve electricity. The Dr. tested my reflexes on the right side and they came out to be hyper... (in other words... if you hit my knee... I might kick you... and I can't tell you where... :rotfl: ) ALL of my nerves on that side are affected. So now I am going to have to undergo all of the tests that I've had over the years to get a new analysis. So that is what I will be doing in the next several months.

I DID try to get the Dr. to give me a script for a cruise... no go... she also said she'd have to go with me.. I asked her if she liked mice... ;)

Just here for an overnight. Going to hit Ikea tomorrow.. my favorite fry pan has almost keeled over... (mom likes to throw it in the oven with the lamb chops...)

I'll check in as soon as I can... :hippie:

Sorry about the changes in the pain and the nerves. Even worse is having to go thru all the testing again. I hope it goes easily for you.

Figured out why I'm so tired. I've gained enough weight that I'm snoring again. Ugghhhh.......

Plus it's winter....you want to hybernate and stay warm. In the sumer you want to be out and about. Food goes with hybernating.

I gained the weight back that I had lost just before the holidays started. So I'll have to start up all over again. Well, as soon as we can get the shopping done for the right food in the house. That's the hard part....the shopping and then the cooking.

I know I will do better in FL where it's summer all the time.

Karl and V and Holly......I would do Alaska again. I'm sure some others would too. John said he'll do a west coast again because he'll drive now that he has enough time off. After today, John has two days left and then he's done. He said they're working him to the bones though. They're not letting him leisurely go out. I'm glad that it's almost over.

No. I can't justify paying what the flight costs for what would be just one day at Disney. What I'm going to try to do is the reunion cruise and either add whatever cruise is the week before or after, depending on the timing, with a day at WDW or DL depending on what cruise is decided on, to give us 2 weeks onboard and just live it up, to make up for dad being an idiot. Or not do back to back and spend that time before or after at the parks. I'll let Tyler decide since he's the one getting shafted. He called me from school today to tell me how great a day he had today and judging by how happy he was, I'm guessing dad hasn't told him yet. So I told him the plans for the reunion cruise anyway, just so when he does hear the bad news, he'll know we do have a cruise planned no matter what. And it won't matter if this one falls on his dad's week because we're each entitled to 2 consecutive weeks vacation every summer. My satisfaction will be knowing how often Tyler talks about the great vacations we go on. :)

Thanks for the update, Holly. I was just thinking about Tyler.

Dad's a putz!

:hug:

Wow.....talk about killing a kid's dreams and after all the extra good work that Tyler did at school. His dad is a putz for sure. I'm glad you'll make it up to him. No matter what he says and I'm sure he loves his dad, but he will always remember that mom took him on the best vacations. Not only that, but you plan local activities with him all the time. You're the best! And his dad is just a putz!

You know... you guys are the 2nd and 3rd people to call someone a putz today... (I was first.. and it wasn't even Tyler's dad...lolol)

Must be a good word...

Isn't it Yiddish? We need Ian back to give us an education...

Has anyone talked them into a reunion? I nominate Cheri to do that... :hippie:

Thanks for the update, Holly. I was just thinking about Tyler.

Dad's a putz!

:hug:

Today I started keeping a list of things like this. The stupid, clueless things that show he has no clue who his kid really is. It just makes me feel better to put it on paper and out of my head. Helps me stop fuming over something I can't change. Healthier than stewing.

Yeah, we go all over. :) No worries, Tyler already knows this. He's told me.

That's a very good idea and a great way to deal with the frustration. One day Tyler will be old enough to tell his dad that he's going on a cruise and he'll be old enough that his dad will have no say in it. That day will come.

Tyler is not a baby anymore. He's getting older and he sees the writing on the wall. He will always love his dad, but he will know that you and him went everywhere and him and his dad went no where. That counts.

I was sound asleep when I heard a loud squeeking noise.....Ella got another mouse. That's the second one this week. Until I could get it and put it outside.....she was carrying it around in her mouth all over the house. I didn't want her to bring it to me.....like she usually does. So I had to stay awake and chase her down with it. I finally got it and picked it up with a plastic cup and threw it outside. It was already dead. At least she can't bring it to me in my sleep and put it on top of me. That's so gross.

Now I'm wide awake. Thanks cat.

This is a good reason why there will be no animals in our new place. They can all stay here with the kid.
