OK, a few photos from our vacation.

Kelly, no $ on Christmas, but I did see DVC points listed somewhere her on the DIS and they were higher than the Med, more in line with Baltic

Playa Santiago, our local fishing village from the edge of the site.

Looking back up the cliff we zig zagged walked down.

The other way.

A view up to the 'tropical' forest on the very top. la gomera gets all its water ftom the rain up there. The ancient Laural Silva soaks up the water.

OK, and one I said I wouldn't post.

But we do look to be enjoying ourselves anyway!!!

It is a very unusual place. The top is forest and the north is greener, cooler and a bit wetter. They grow bananas over there. The south where we were used to have farmers working terraces and you can see them built all over, but it was all unsustainable as it is hot and dry there. Now it is being developed for tourism. It can look bleak as you can see, but is also very beautiful.

Thought I share my photos as it was two years ago but lovely hotel but very steep like lots of stairs to walk up.

They planted botanical gardens which are developing nicely. There are lots of cacti.

Local developers have built a cliff top path along the edge of our resort.

It goes for a mile or so up to the local cemetery. They are preparing the ground for future development - hotel villas etc, but who knows when it will be finished. They began 5 years ago!!!

No real sunrise or sunset. We seemed to miss them, and sunset was almost behind us. Lovely skies though.

Oh god, are we crazy, but we made the money £60.00 for kids spend money for Tenerife (we are spoilt them)

This is the nearest I got to a sunrise.

We were a self catering resort. There is one large posh hotel on the island on the headland accross from us. There are a fe other hotels in the more German area, and a few small ones dotted in the country. Nothing as built up as Tenerife or Lanzarote at all.

We went too, back at 12.15 our time. Just been for a walk - it is warm and sunny and the tree colours are beautiful.

Same here! Warm, sunny & colorful! Since Thursday, it's been warm enough for shorts again and open windows in the house. VERY nice! Still supposed to be the same tomorrow too! But that will be the last day for shorts because after that it's only supposed to be in the 50s F for the rest of the week and probably won't warm back up again for the season.
