Me? The cold weather is getting to me. It happens whenever the weather changes - especially from hot to cold.

We should be getting Indian Summer later this week - up to the 70's again.. I'll be back in shorts... all will be fine.. until the temps drop again. You know how they say someone with a bad knee knows when a storm is coming? My whole body know... (and then wants to take out a neon billboard to tell me it!!! )

Mom is going to make an apple pie this weekend so I have to go to the farm tomorrow and get apples and CIDER!!!

Michelle, I hope you are having had a great night's sleep.(Not that you would know I am saying that if you are sound asleep! )

This time of year is a good time to go away for some heat and sun because of the change in temperatures/atmospheric pressure.

Apple pie will help everything!!!

Sorry if you've already answered, I'll catch up soon. But......No grass in your yard? Is that all over or just in your neighborhood? Sorry to sound clueless, I've just never heard of that. Even the houses in the city here have yards (just very small though). I think we all need a picture please!

Yards are always solid - paving, concrete etc etc. They can be Builder's or other such big yards that store products etc, or at a house. No grass, but can have pots of flowers etc. If we haved a lawn, it is called a garden, which of course can have planted borders, vegetable patches etc. It is just a difference in naming things and it sounds funny when i hear you say you mow your yard!!!

Kathe, we're thinking the same. Folks like us who are used to cold, will be very comfortable on this cruise. What's cold for some will be nice for us. At least I hope!

I don't think it will be cold, just not hot once out in the ocean. From New York accross it would be, but you will be going well south.

Something funky is going on with my knee. I used to ski and run up and never had knee problems until I originally gained all my weight 6 years ago. Lots went on very quickly and I started having knee problems when I was at my highest weight. My doctor told me to just lose weight. Duh, that's a no brainer, but not so easy. Anyway, after I lost that 45 pounds before the cruise, my knees were perfectly wonderful once again! Then I started gaining weight back slowly, but after gaining back about 20 I stopped gaining and have remained the same. My knees never bothered me with gaining that bit back, other than occasional pain now and then, but nothing to stop me from doing much. Today though, every few steps it feels like my knee twists and wants to give out on me. Very strange feeling and I have to sort of catch myself from falling. It was noticeable enough that Tyler asked me what was wrong. It's just one knee, so I'm trying to stay off that one as much as possible.

One week on Friday, we are going to Tenerife

Oh I need a break - my necklaces snip half and it was broken as I bought it from Amsterdam then my hair straigher was broken, thought maybe fuse. Ian changed it and won't work. Then my printer won't print out

I feel that I had enough with it. I need a break.

We emailed to DU to move our dummy dates to 6 July 2010 for Baltic But no balcony So we wait and see. If problem later, we can cancel it (well I hope not).

I know that it won't be same with Panama Canal Disboard People

Sorry everything is breaking around you Deborah. Just 8 days and you will be on yhour way. It is still hot over there.

What we all would like just won't ever happen - all our Panama Canal friends cruising together again. So sad. But at least we might get to see a few of our friends at different times.

You will have an amazing time on the Baltic though. I have decided we just won't manage one of those cruises. Not as many excursions on the Transatlantics, so looking at those at the moment.

I know exactly what you mean about missing the ocean Deb. When we moved to Reading 4 years ago I missed the sea like crazy....and still do! In fact we've moved further away I think! I lived right by the sea for 40 years, in 'smelling' distance, and listening to the waves was my favourite relaxation. It's quite rural round here but there's no ocean for miles!

That's why we like cruising, right?

Becky's fine thanks. She went off to University a couple of weeks ago and I miss her like crazy! She's having a great time but finding it very tiring I think. At least she doesn't have time to get homesick!

So Mark and I get to have a second honeymoon after 6 years together, we have some alone time. Seems very strange!

I LOVE living within "smelling" distance of the ocean and listening to the waves lapping on the shore. I do so miss it.

That's exactly why we like cruising. I love sitting on the verandah in the middle of the night and just absorbing the sea. It's entoxicating.
