Jackie,

If you go on the TA, we should have our own Edwardian night.

And by then I'd be slim enough to have a smashing gown!

Just not sure I can swing the $$ that soon after the Tortola cruise.

So looking at TA dollars, first tier Cat 11 is $2000 pp ($3000 for me solo). Sharing a Cat 5/6 would be $3800 pp (only $800 increase for my 'share' to upgrade to a verandah. Best bet, of course is sharing a cat 11 (and about $300 pp more for a split bath in a cat 10).

I wonder what kind of suprise we'll find on the web site Tuesday morning for Christmas!! (Deb, DCL won't release rates for the holiday cruises right now)

Monica....plan B looking better and better.

heck, I just don't know.....glad I have all weekend to mull.........(and make some phone calls)

.

Hi Gydell

wow, you are doing the first Baltic.

Well we are sending the email that we are doing the 3rd Baltic - 6 July 2010 as the kids start school holiday. So we are reunion with Med people which we met them last year also one of Westbound are joining in too.

We change the Cat 6 to Cat 9.

Hopeful we can afford it as everything go dark day again,

Scottishwee35

Beth and dh and Vicky and dh are doing the July 6 Baltic cruise.

Oh Monica... I hope they gave you something to help you get through tonight... It will feel better soon...

Maybe Disney came out with their prices to beat the others... but I think with the way the economy is going... Disney's gonna have to do some Magic with those prices to fill the boats...

I think people will book and then cancel close to pay off date like they did for ours...

BTW.. I got a email from Princess with a sale on the PC - I guess they are down on bookings too... & they didn't have Mickey, Minnie and Palo!!!

I am home (since 1245p) and finally awake. My mouth is a little sore - most of the good stuff has worn off.

Don't think l'll be staying up too long tho...feel whiped out.

Sent an email to Tom (ta) asking him for info on the Christmas 2010 cruise. This was his response....
The Magic will be sailing December 18, 2010 for 11-Nights and December 29, 2010 for 10-Nights.

The Wonder will be sailing Thursday, December 23, 2010 for a 7-Night Western and Thursday, December 30, 2010 for a 7-Night Eastern. I have no idea what the cost will be. DCL is really tight with the pricing info for these sailings. My best guess is about $3600 on the 7-night sailings and $5000 for the 10- or 11-night sailings for a single cat 11 or 12. These estimates are based on what past cruises for these same time frames have cost when they opened, the actual rates could be much more.

So not sure if that would be any better (really) than the 12nt baltic. OH WHAT TO DO???? :confused3

NOW-why can't the other cruiselines come out with their 2010 prices now? Doesn't the cruise world know that I'm trying to make a decision here???

Hope you get some much needed sleep tonight Monica.

I would love to see other cruiselines' itineraries too. Seems like a few of us are indecisive.

...sorry those drugs are wearing off!....

.....Plan B ???.....

I'm changing my mind pretty much hourly :confused3

I've already found out that I have people I really, really like on the EB TA, the WB TA and the Christmas cruise......so that's no help!:lmao: :lmao:

Going to try to sleep again. Nite. Sorry if I have annoyed folk with my moaning about the 2010 sailings. I think I am just so very disappointed. Perhaps I will wake up feeling better tomorrow!:lmao:

Hi Marilyn - don't worry - you're not the only one disappointed about the 2010 sailings....definately not the locations just the cost.

Sleep well :goodvibes

Hi there - good to talk to you yesterday :goodvibes

I'm not crossing anything off the list of possibilities yet (except the TAs). Things would be made alot more easy if the 2010 rates were out for everyone. Plan B will be researched well. :thumbsup2

I wish but I will be in 300 level classes and it would be to hard to catch up. I will wait for the new ship.

I am sooo excited I get to train in Photo Lab again tomorrow at work. I really like it and the guy who is in charge thinks I am good at it and wants me to come up there. I hope I can. OH and his aunt was the original owner of my favorite local scrapbook store (she recently sold it). I have been going there since they opened. I am going on Friday b/c they are having a yard sale. People line up over and hr in advance to get in. Then its in a small area in the back and you can barely move. But it is soooo worth it.

Hi Jill - hope the Photo Lab works out for you.
Can't believe how close the cruise is for you now - I'm jealous!

I'm going to sign off---yawning a bunch (and hurting a bit more every time I yawn) so talk to you all in the morning :goodvibes

Monica, I hope your mouth feels better quickly.

Jill, I hope you get to work in the photo lab again tomorrow. It's always nice to get to do some work you enjoy! :goodvibes

ughhhh --- hate this!

I am moving my dummy to the E TA --- hopefully we can afford it at some point -- i the price is what they list --- it is less than the PC

Hi V :flower3:

That is my plan too, but no DH or kids.

I have to decide what cat to reserve, that will depend on pricing...I'm bumming they are giving us any time to see the prices and then decide. I feel trapped like a rat! I guess I will book a cat 6 and then if I have to move it to an 11, but will they still honor the $999 per person later????

I'm also hoping for extended stay in Europe afterwards. At least heading to London to visit my cousin (& Marilyn). I figure gettng a one way home from London will make it worthwhile.

Lisa, got you on the list of who to talk with when I book. I think for now I'll just move over my room as a single, is that smart or not?

Thank you! I was very excited and they really noticed that. Of coarse it was broken most of the first day I trained. oh and the first thing I did was break the tape dispencer!!!:rotfl2: He laughed and put it back together, and I later used it successfully.

Marilyn... it was like in the next couple of months... I don't know if that's a great time to do it.. Either that or they've had alot of cancellations and need to fill the statrooms... :confused3

I'd recommend booking for two ('cause if you book for one you'll actually be paying for one and a half anyway). That way when you find a companion, you've locked in the lowest rate for person #two. If you were adding a second person a year from now, that person would pay the current rate...NOT the rate you booked for yourself. You're moving over an existing reservation right? You'll only have to pay the difference in the deposit balance (as it will be more than for a 7 day).

I'm pretty sure whatever I book, I'll book for two people, since I'll have the 50% off deposit.

I can't believe we won't know the holiday rates till Tuesday. That means signing on the site (when a zillion other people are) and 'shopping' to see what catagory I'm comfortable booking for two people. THEN decide if I want the Christmas cruise at whatever rate that is, or go for a TA. I THINK the trans atlantic cruises won't sell out right away, but I don't know how quickly tier one pricing will go. WILL the holiday cruises be priced so high, that they would be the same as a TA including one way European airfare??? :confused3 :confused3

.......sigh

Thanks Jackie. :thumbsup2 Should I use a name, like Paul's or leave it open ended. Has anyone done this?

I know you used to be able to do a 'tba' for the other parties, don't know if they changed that recently. Even so, a name change for anyone other than the primary is a nominal cost and probably only applies after final payment...but I may have just made that up! :lmao:
