OH MY GOSH, I just realized something REALLY funny! I didn't notice it at the time. When the newly volunteered Cubmaster told us all she still needs somebody to be the Popcorn Kernal and a den leader for Bears, Tyler turned to ME (not his dad) and excitedly asked, "Are you going to be den leader?" I told him that the Tigers already have a den leader and pointed her out to him. She volunteered before I decided whether I wanted to. He was sad, but I told him maybe next year I can volunteer quicker.

OK, I guess it's not funny, but sort of sad. Tyler never thought to ask his dad because he KNOWS his dad doesn't want to be involved in anything. :sad2:

Anyway after everybody left and I was helping with cleanup, the Tigers den leader told me she saw/heard what Tyler asked me and saw his excitement at the possibility. She told me she really only volunteered because the guy at that parents meeting volunteered for Wolves, and the other woman at that parents meeting volunteered for Cubmaster and possibly Popcorn Kernal, and she didn't want her to get stuck with everything, so she volunteered for Tigers to ease the Cubmaster's burden a bit. She told me she'd be happy for us to be co-leaders and take turns doing the meetings! :yay: I told her I'd need her to tell me what to do because I know absolutely nothing and she assured me it will be easy since there are only 4 boys in Tigers. Tyler's going to be SO excited!

Commercial so time to respond....

That's so cool Holly! It shows how much Tyler loves you & loves spending time w/ you. Glad that you'll be able to co-lead.

Yup! It was great tonight when he first saw me in the gym, he sort of gasped and yelled "Mommy!" and ran up to give me a giant hug. :goodvibes And I got another great squeezy hug when they left. I'm sure his dad told him I'd be there, but it probably still surprised him to see me on his dad's day. Hmmm......sneaky way to get more time with Tyler! :thumbsup2 Yup, I'm definitely up to co-lead! I'll still come when it's the other leader's week because I need to watch her and learn what to do....yeah, that's it. ;) And the extra Tyler hugs are a bonus!

I just realized I forgot to take my 3rd dose of St. John's Wort today. That explains the strong desire to beat Tyler's dad and my computer with a hammer. :rotfl:

I got a really sweet card in the mail today with a note written inside from the director of the children's programs at church. She says I've been on her mind and heart this week and wanted me to know she sees my struggle and is praying for me and that she hopes this week is going better for Tyler. That was totally unexpected and so nice! :goodvibes I should call her tomorrow.

Wow, I sure am jabberjaws today! :lmao: Sorry everybody!

Can you tell my migraine went away? It stopped sometime at work today about mid-morning. FINALLY. Three days sucked. And they moved my next appointment to MARCH. Jerks.

Means SOMEONE is placing you on her heart

Yup! I don't know her very well, but Tyler really likes her. She knows lots about him too from his former kindergarten teacher who also volunteers at the church doing their lights and power point stuff and sound stuff, AND she also runs the Cherub Choir. He really tried to do that last year because they get to sing in the Christmas Eve program, but he just couldn't hold himself together for that. They've already started practices, so maybe he can try again if he wants to.

GOSH, I'm rambling and it's crazy run-on thoughts. Sorry!

OH! About work. The attorney who really wants me to stay, the one who's trying to negotiate something, didn't come in until 4:50 today. His secretary urged me to run in and talk to him. I tried, but of course he was frantically trying to deal with lots of projects at once, so he told me we'll talk about this first thing tomorrow morning. I told him getting that call from the school yesterday was an eye opener and I realize leaving would be a mistake. He has 2 boys who just started college and he assured me I have many, many days ahead of me getting phone calls from the school. ;) He told me our firm understands that family comes first, no matter what. I do believe that now.

There are other issues going on that made me want to leave, the lack of communication, mismanagement, and the slacker secretary being allowed to only work for one attorney just because it's all she can handle while I work for 5. He told me that's a big problem and he wants me to work ONLY for him (and the other 3 that do workers comp with him), and then he'd also have his original secretary. She and I would work together on their stuff. That puts us back to the ratio the office is supposed to have and always has had until now: 1 secretary for 2 attorneys. He told me to make that work, we'll have to call the other 2 partners in on this meeting and get the one who handles pay to agree to paying me more, and get the other partner (the 80 year old) to leave me alone and use his own secretary (the slowpoke). He's confident he can make it happen and then HE will inform the office manager what's happening and she will have to abide by what they worked out. :thumbsup2

I sure am stirring the pot there! ;)

Then I have to do the dirty job of calling the place that hired me and tell them things have changed. I dread doing that because he's been without a secretary for almost 2 months now. :scared:

I totally forgot to ask you how this went....sounds like that lawyer is on the ball! Keep us informed :thumbsup2

Will do! I love the idea of getting to stay where I know the job so well, I don't have to think about it. That's a huge bonus! I now consider yesterday's phone call from the school asking me to pick up Tyler sort of a slap saying "HEY DUMMY, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?" regarding the new job.

I really want to stay up to read about Gaylean's scout trip to the fire station, but just can't. Too tired and with finally getting rid of that horribly long migraine, I don't want to risk getting another one from lack of sleep. I'll just have to wait until morning!

Goodnight Monica (and anybody else who may show up). :cloud9:

Ok... Whoever had EARS... not Mickeys... but Mom's... in the What's wrong with Barbara pool... please come and try and claim your prize... :lmao:

It's official... she's a ditzy woman with an inner ear problem...

ALL of the tests came out good... (and she's talking cruising in '10... Marilyn...I'll tell her about Sept and ask her if it's ok with her to think about it... :rotfl: )

The MRI, MRA, Dopler showed all clear. Not bad for an old dame!!! (I told the Dr. it's because she can usually answer all the Double Jeopardy questions right...)

She just has to work on her cholesterol and her blood pressure was a little high... Thank God she didn't have the tests done right after eating all of those :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Of course after all the tests, she feels like she should glow...:upsidedow
