Gaylean, you asked about the economy.

Yes, the cost of living has increased substantially. Our gasoline bill alone is up about $400+ per month. Food has increased in many categories at about 30% in the past year. Bread has doubled. Our insurance went up nearly $1000 for the year (for a $2400 deductible that covers nothing, no meds), electricity, gas, water, sewer, trash went up a substantial amount. Many credit cards are lowering their limits by more than 50% Mostly AmEX across the nation, but increasing their APR. This means that our ratios are changing the FICO scores which affect the APR we get per person, per card. The value of our homes has lowered so much that anyone who had a second on their house has gone into forclosure because they can't afford their payments esp. when the variable interest increased. So, their house payments went up so high that they could no longer make them. With all of the forclosures (there are currently 10 million homes in foreclosure and an additional huge percent are 4+ months in default) which means that each state is losing tax money making the economy crumble. Schools and companies who get government contracts are losing their funding because they depend on the tax revenue. A lot of what is going on right now is because the banks and financial firms borrowed so much against the real estate boom and then spent way too much money. OK, getting tired. I get dizzy thinking about it. We are moving into an immediate cash economy where we will be using cash for everything and credit cards will not be a part of world for a while. Hope that helps explain it a bit.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Well I know we are hit hard but we lost a significant amount of money. I know things have gone up but :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: about what you just said. Don't get me wrong, I love credit but right now I wish I never had any.

Well of course you knew that when I spoke of risky moves that may have benefited him I meant Palin even though that was the deal breaker for me. If I were to ever vote for a republican it may have been McCain but not after he picked Palin.

I'm with you!

Off to bed, I'm exhausted. Just spent 12 hours putting the final touches on a marijuana presentation, now I have 4 more new presentations to work on. Each one takes me hundreds of hours, and I'm drained.

Has anyone been watching Priviledged? It's my new favorite show.

Here are some BFFs that I know

I mean Jose in the back ground!!!!

Taylor won all our money in poker, even though I think she is playing solitaire in this picture.

There is so much more but I can't be here by myself. It gives me a complex :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm use to being center of attention... if you didn't know that about me :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Aren't you glad you're not married to him???

Holly... forgot to ask... does he have any other kids???
Nope. He convinced women in the past to have abortions. Yup, he told me this when he was trying to convince me to have one. "I don't see why you won't, others did when this happened."

Holly, after reading everything over the past few days, I can only say what I would do if I stood in your shoes.

That other job would make you a nervous wreck.

Your child is your first, only and forever job. He needs you more than any lawyer ever will. It is so very OK to tell the new job the truth and that it would not be in their best interest, yours and esp. Tyler's for you to not be available for him at his every need. He'll never be able to count on his dad the way he can count on you. A job that allows family first and isn't going to close their doors in this economy is a job that you need to be a part of. If they offer $1 over your current pay take and say "I will make this work for Tyler!"

Another thought for you is that you can start a part time ebay business and make the $2000K per year. I made $2500 in 3 months this summer selling junk out of my house while I worked and went to school. You can do anything when you put your mind to it. Make it happen. You never know, you may make enough to stay at home and be a full time at home mom with your own business. Give it some thought.
Thanks Kelly. I was looking for an idea what to tell the new employer. :thumbsup2 I used to sell things on ebay and really never had much luck. I've given away lots of clutter, so we don't really have anything let to get rid of on ebay, but will think about it next time stuff accumulates.

That's exactly how I feel too, but probably for different reasons. ;)

OK, I have to be to work in 25 minutes and I'm not dressed yet. Catch you all later tonight!

Have a great day everybody! :goodvibes

Good Morning

I went to kids school for coffee morning but end up stay there for 2 hours!!

Teacher took me in assembly hall to see my son is"Pupil of the Week":thumbsup2

Then I got help from another teacher for my daughter, she is bad behaviour make me wit end.

She went out to play yesterday and never told me where she went.

I start worried and had go to work.

She finally came home and my husband had word with her. She was in the computer room at the Hay (round from my house) never told me.:scared1:

Also she was very cheeky to us now.

So I am meeting support teacher on Tuesday to help out for home behaviour.

Support Teacher said Olivia is a lovely girl and well behaviour at school.:headache:

Gaylean

Thank for showing the pictures and your kids look great:thumbsup2

Holly

How are you? Are you got the new job? or you decide to stay in old Job over Tyler?

I know it is not easy for single working mum.

Take care

Good morning one and all (and Nan).

I haven't been around a lot lately because I am just exhausted. Another extremely stressful week at work with more chaos.

I've been reading the thread, I just don't have the energy to write anything.

Kelly - good insights on the economy. I imagine that things are worse in parts of the country where the mortgage crisis is worse such as California and Florida.

I don't know, for me well, sort of a crappy roll of the dice:

- I work for an insurance company
- My life savings are with Merrill Lynch
- My bank is Washington Mutual (the one that failed yesterday and was bought by JP Morgan Chase)

I'm not worried about my investments or my savings, they are all safe, though I expect the investment funds to be in the crapper. I just consider myself lucky that I am not anywhere near retirement.

I just heard a piece on NPR (National Public Radio) that a media center in Berkley sees that Americans are using video games for escape, much as the Depression generation used movies. Video game sales are up 43% over last year at this time. Couples are playing video games together.

So, breakout that Wii or Playstation.

Well, I decided I want to stay at my current job, now it's just a question if they'll let me since they all now think I'm leaving and have brought in one employee and are interviewing another.

Way to go Keith! :cool1: And Olivia, well.....although she's stressing you out at home, try to feel good knowing she's well behaved at school! It's the opposite for us. ;) Maybe she feels she can let loose a bit at home because home is usually everybody's comfort zone? I'm sure the teacher will have some good advice for you on Tuesday. :thumbsup2

Ian, I don't know what to say, other than offer hugs.

Wow, this is the first time in a LONG time that I've had NO work to do!
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Well, I think that Jan summed it up, another time and age. My dad still tells me that if I believed I wouldn't get sick than I wouldn't and that I get sick because it's all in my head. Meanwhile I gave 5 viles of blood today to check my immune system at the cancer center. He'll never grasp that his child has a blood disorder because it reflects badly on him as a parent (in his mind) Your dad doesn't understand the brain and also probably has a bit of my dad in him. In my work I council parents all the time who can't stand the pain of watching their children in pain. They block out all reasoning consciously or unconsciously. You will find the right path for you to handle this pain. When your knees are better, your weight will be better and when it all comes together your head will feel better. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and if you keep looking it will shine a little bit brighter every day.
