That's what my sister said too....my response "no" - I'm not going to use this for MD as I can get nonstop flights as low as $177...I want to use those tickets for a higher cost location :lmao:

Good thinking! let me know if you want to take me with you...he he

Yeah, well, that's not going to happen. My replacement starts tomorrow morning. AND they're hiring an EXTRA person to help the worthless secretary we have that can only handle working for 1 lawyer. That makes me SOOOOOO angry, now I'm glad I'm not sticking around here because I'd get fired for the things I have to say about that. If somebody can't do the job, get rid of them and hire somebody who CAN. Every other secretary before this one was always playing solitaire on the computer because that position doesn't produce enough work to keep somebody busy. And sure, I play around on here when I don't have work to do, so I'm not complaining about that part, what pisses me off is that nobody else had trouble handling that job, so she shouldn't. Or she shouldn't be here. :headache:

I'm GLAD I'm leaving now!
:yay: you found your silver lining ::yes::

WELCOME BACK Monica!!!

I'm back from the doctor........the leg is infected, but it's not cellulitus yet. We caught it early this time. We took a culture but don't have the results yet. We're stopping the antibacterial scrub and we're back to wrapping with the burn cream. We're on antibiotics again. We have to stop the weeping or we will keep getting infected. We have to lose weight, elevate the legs and use the compression sleves.

I'm going to Mickey's house and I'll worry about it all when I get back. In the meantime I'll stay on the antibiotics and keep elevating the legs while wrapping with the cream. We're still on schedule to leave tomorrow night. I'm excited and can't wait!

Can you use the compression sleeves on the trip and wear them while sleeping?

Or is it like a sock you can put on in the morning before getting out of bed when the swelling is down from having been elevated all night and thus help keep the swelling down during the day?

Do you have two pair?

If they get wet from the fluid you can wash them in the sink in the room and hang them in the room over the fan to dry while you wear the other pair.

OH Deb, sorry to hear the news from the Dr. But you have such a positive outlook on this, I know you'll be right on top of it.

I'm still having 2nd thoughts about losing so much time with Tyler. Now I won't see him from Wed early morning until Sat at 5. We at least had a bit of time together before and after karate. Oh well, he's excited about getting to do the after school program every day now, so that's good I guess.

So now we'll only have about 2 hours together Mon & Tues after work, Saturday evening, and all Sunday. Permanently. Just doesn't seem fair. Doesn't seem to be enough time with a little kid. OH well, nobody said life is fair, I guess that's just the way it goes. :sad1:

Too bad I can't find a way to take summers off work. Well, I guess I'll just use my vacations in the summer now.

Supper is cooking in the microwave, Tyler's anxious to eat fast so we can go out in our neighborhood to try to sell popcorn. Unfortunately, work is so small, not much chance of selling there and his dad doesn't like to take fundraisers to work so he doesn't. So wish us luck! :goodvibes

Not going to do it. I would have to take the machine that plugs in and the hoses that connect between the machine and the sleves and then both sleves, one for each leg.

Or is it like a sock you can put on in the morning before getting out of bed when the swelling is down from having been elevated all night and thus help keep the swelling down during the day?

No it's tarp like plastic and both sleves fit from thigh to ankle. It's very cumbersome and hard for me to do by myself.

Do you have two pair?

Nope.....just one.

They don't get wet. My leg will be wrapped and if the wrap is wet, we'll change the dressing and put a dry one on. My left leg is not wrapped, but it is not as swollen and does not weep.

Jan

It's so sweet of you to be concerned. But I think we'll leave the compression sleves home and do it after we get back. It's only 10 days. In the meantime, I'll elevate them on the trip.

Thanks Holly. At least we caught it in time and it's not bad yet.

Good Luck selling popcorn tonight.....do great and sell a lot!

OR space your vacations out throughout the year when Tyler has school vacations! :thumbsup2

You are a creative person and you will either find a great way for this to work or you will find a different job with the flexibility you crave.

You can do it! ::yes::

We used to buy more than we needed for our family of the microwave Boy Scout popcorn and wrap it up for the boys' Christmas gifts to Grandparents.

good luck, we are deep into our sales here. Wilson is trying to reach the $2500 goal to get the Boy Scout college scholarship. Prior years he sold $1700 & $1300. What we didn't know is once you sell $2500 in one year every year thereafter any amount you sell will add to your scholarship fund. :thumbsup2

Yup! What I could do is take a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off when he has a vacation week from school and then we'd have from Saturday when I pick him up until after his dad gets out of work on Wednesday. :goodvibes And yes, I'm still looking for something with flexibility. It must be out there. Sure, I'm leaving a job with flexibility, but sometimes the almighty dollar has to take precedence. Not to mention the insurance I so desperately need. :thumbsup2

Good idea, maybe I can purchase a bunch of extras and give to co-workers for Christmas gifts.

Ian - LOVED your arguments about who is a Princess and who isn't - had me laughing out loud!

Hope everything is good now w/ the new internet thing.

Found out that I'm Ariel (Nan - I knew we were sisters :lmao: ).

Monica ... Fear not!

I know that there the topic of who is and who is not a valid princess can cause a conundrum.

Therefore, to help avoid potential awkward moments, might you in Disney World, or on a cruise, find yourself face to face with such a person, I've made this handy print and cut out wallet reference card for you:

Simply cut this out and carry it on your person at all times.

You will avoid many a potential socially fatal faux pas.

Yup, I heard about that scholarship fund too. Unfortunately, since the pack fell apart last year, nobody could find people to get things organized this year, so we missed the start of popcorn sales. Tyler's goal is just to get to the $300 prize level, and I'm just not sure that will happen. We'll do another street next time he's home, but that won't be until late Saturday. We came up with $120 sales from work and $50 from our street. I have a few friends I'll email and see if they'll purchase. That's about it though.

Unless his dad & stepmom will cooperate and take an order form to work, but he still hasn't even talked to me about Tyler being in scouts, so I'm not sure he'll help with sales. Jerk.

I sure hope Wilson makes his $2500 goal! GO WIL, GO!!!

:rotfl2: I love it! I hate to ask, but who are Esmeralda and Megara?
