How close is Amsterdam to Barcelona? I just found a flight for us on 9-16 for 383 +218 taxes.

So I found out it is 14 hours but the drive or train ride would be unbelievable. Anyway, I'm super tired so I should go. I woke up last night with sever acid reflux

:flower3: I'm here, just reading.

Hi Gaylean, Nan, Kaylee, Michelle, Holly, Shannon and anyone else I forgot:hug:

Hi V!!!!

YES

she said "I don't know whatever to do"

That sounds solid to me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now John is another story ;)

Ah... John's a pussycat!!!

This one time on the Magic......we made a lot of friends but only like a few of us could hang out at Rockin Bar D because the rest were wusses and Castaway Cay was so freakin hot that even the Konk Koolers didnt help and we couldnt wait to say goodby to that god forsakin island but we still stayed in contact with eachother and now were all so broke we cant cruise together and have all this fun again which is ok because Gaylean thought that the canal was boring and the food got boring and Acapulco was boring and her kids got bored and wine tasting was boring and she missed all the shows.......thats facinating????:confused3

Yup... so you're coming, right?

Did you just call me a wuss????

I thought I was a puss? (Gaylean, please insert that cat with the DISbubbamug here)

Them's fightin words... :snooty:

You went to 4 or 5 shows, or you PUT ON 4 or 5 shows????:rotfl2:

There was entertainment on that ship?

:scared1: :scared1: that's quite a jump for an 11 to a 12

It's still gonna be cheaper than what I paid for the Repo... I had to get a cancellation... but it was worth it!!!

I need to get some studying done and get some sleep. Night everybody!

Hi Shannon! Goodnight Shannon!!!

Yeah... what he said!!!

Just in case you wondered.....Venetia and Gaylean are on the phone discussing why I dont want to go to Europe. :confused3

Did they figure it out yet?

You're still going, right? ;)

Well, during the ride home and while eating dinner, I've changed my mind a dozen times about what I want to do.

Since the 1/2 price deposit is still in effect, I was thinking of booking two cruises (Christmas and a TA ?) and just wait and see how things shake down. THEN I thought I should pick ONE and book for TWO people (maybe in a verandah) and just wait and see who would want to go/share with me. Then there will also be the non-DCL Plan B, a UK trip/non DCL cruise with my soul sister

I tell you, these prices are making it easier to expand my cruise horizons and look at other lines...especially for port intensive itineraries. The Christmas cruise only has three sea days....which once again, makes the TA the most attractive for being on a DCL ship. It's the sea days that I enjoyed the most on our PC. BUT, a lot of that had to do with all my cruise pals.

All this is making my brain hurt :headache:

P.S. I know what Suze Orman would tell me......................:sad2:

i think far away??

OH WHERE IS MARILYN WHEN WE NEED HER!!!

Think we can talk her into it????

She is on the plane now, flight home to England Rainy day!!

I have found the holiday cruises to be the most expensive. I think they have people stuck because of kids in school. At least for us that is the case. We have done Xmas and now upcoming NYE. I'm telling myself to stop cruising at the holidays and look at going without the kids. Sucks for them huh? What a mean mom...:scared1:

NOT FAIR :sad2:

The airport at Barcelona is beautiful and very easy to navigate. I'd go there alone, and I'm not much to travel alone. Hope that helps

Maybe I'll plant the bug in Paul's ear that he can get rid of me for a while for a TA. I'd love to do either one, but like Deborah can't take the kids out of school like that again. It was hard on them to miss so much. :sad2:

We went to Barcelona for 3 days before Magic Cruise and we had a great times and Med was beautiful, very romanic. I want go back there again, but sadly Ian don't want go back there as he want Batlic.

It is very pricey:scared1: :scared1:

He pick the dates for 7/6/10 so we wait and see what the price first.

ya If I go, I'll bring the rum.

::yes:: :thumbsup2

Good morning all!

I emailed our travel agent last night and asked them to book a Cat 11 for us on the eastbound transatlantic. So, that's that.

The Christmas cruise has 4 sea days.....only three intervals.....but 4 days. I'll skip getting off the ship at St. Maarten so that will make it 5 sea days out of 11....that's not bad.

Not fair, Deborah, if I do make it aboard the Christmas cruise in 2010, I would love it if you and your family could come too. Not fair to not be allowed off work in December.

Now I'm even happier to be sailing with you again in 2009 because we definitely will not be doing the same cruise in 2010 and we'll miss you not being there. At least we have 09!

I'm glad you made up your mind and stuck to it. You're going to have a wonderful cruise and I'm going to want to see those pictures!

Thanks Lisa. I am hanging in there. How have you been?

My family is good. Daniel is pretty much getting straight A's this year so far at VA Tech!! (and Tech is winning in football.....so his life could not be better). He has gotten a full scholarship to study in France next summer...should be interesting as he speaks Spanish and NO French. He is thinking about taking Elementary French spring Semester.

The girls have both had a big change this year. Gretchen started middle school and promptly tried out and got a lead role in the middle school play (Suessical) and then in community theatre (Ages 10-20) in a production called Children of Eden. She is dancing 13 hours every week and still doing girl scouts!! She is also preparing for a mission trip this summer for 2 weeks in West VA. Lots of prayers and fund raising for that!!

Annie's life pretty much works around her new high school schedule (she has to get up at 5am to catch the HS bus) and she gets home at 2pm. She is still working at ChickFilA and so far has straight A's in 9th grade!! She is in the midst of planning 2 mission trips for next summer, one to Crank's Creek KY and one to the Gulf area. Fund raising for her starts next weekend.

I have taken my mom to Charleston last weekend where she will stay until we get back from our Thanksgiving cruise. I go back to Charleston next weekend for my niece's wedding!! My brother is totally FREAKED out at the cost....they are spending over $100,000 on this wedding. I think that is just CRAZY....I have told my girls not to get ANY ideas from this wedding!!.

I will continue to pray for you each day. Take care of yourself!!
Much love,
Lisa

no, that would be piggish, oh actually it wouldn't but taking the midship cat 3 for a 15 day repo would be huh ::yes::

I think I'd want to share with someone.

I just talked to Paul and he said no more cruises for him. He is just bored with them. But....he is fine with me doing one alone. I'm sure there would be pay back in there somewhere ;)

Keep me in mind for one of your partners....as everyone knows..Don and I always vaction apart :lmao: :lmao:

You're so funny! Now my decision is even harder.

Hmmmmmmmm....how much do I 'invest' in assorted DCL deposits? :confused3

.

I'm making a list of who is going on what cruise so PM when you know for sure.

So far I have Ian and Sukie on the EB TA and that's it. I'm not even on the list :lmao:

Maybe if you're traveling alone you can let me know that too and we can start a list for people that want to try and find a roommate.

Good Morning Gaylean.....me and John are trying to do the 11 night Christmas cruise. I already emailed DU and I'm waiting for a response.

I would love to do Christmas and New Years too, but I'll wait and do one at a time because they're usually very expensive.

Thanks for doing the list. I'll PM you when I firm up my plans.

Good morning. I would love to be on the ship on New Year's Eve since it is our anniversary. I actually found one to Hawaii and it wasn't that expensive but it wasn't Disney. Why do they have to be so darn expensive? Let me know what the TA says. I'm sure it will be a lot though.
