Oh dear Michelle. Do you work in the financial industry? I really don't understand the implications of what is happening etc, but I hope things aren't as bad for you as you might be thinking.

I'm not in financial... but the money for our project may just have been blown to dust... too bad too cause it would have helped a ton of people...

it's hard to see how this will directly effect us not in financial industry, but I suspect that we will all be effected in some big taxes in the coming years. I'm so grateful that my mom's house is sold. I'm not convined that the housing market has met it's bottom here yet.:sad2:

We're not getting much done today are we Deb?:lmao:

Ut Oh, I was thinking that myself. We'll have to set a cut off, won't we. Are you ready to do that? I'm not sure.:confused3

I'd say sometime between Midnight and 3 am... but then again... that's usually when I'M up!!! :lmao:

I had to center it a little more but it looked good enough to steal, thanks Ian.

What?? Mine wasn't good enough??? it WAS first!!! ;)

Happy Monday Everyone!

After another horrible Hawks game yesterday I am ready for a new week.

Went to a doc on Friday....got some decent news....I can now see 20/400 out of my L eye (which means I can almost see that big E on the vision charts) and my upper field of vision is showing improvement, but my lower is still pretty blind. The sad news is that my optic nerve is showing signs of damage which doesn't make me happy. He also told me it could be a year before my sight is back...if at all....again, not so happy. But I'll take the 20/400 and improving sight! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Haven't read at all this weekend, and there is just too much to catch up on. Hope everyone is doing well, happy and healthy! If anyone needs it.....

Marilyn...saw that pic of your granddaughter....how adorable! She looks so beautiful in that pic. (thanks Nan for quoting it so I saw it)

Ok, off to see more patients....just stopping by between them.

Hi kaylee!!!

Hopefully it will get better... otherwise we're going to get you a bedazzled eye patch for the next pirate party!!!!

crap, you asked. I flaked again. I hate getting up in the morning. I promise to make it up tomorrow...:sad2:

One day at a time my dear... one day at a time...

I was listening to a piece about it on Public Radio this morning, the analysts are not expecting any improvement in over a year.

My broker also called me.

A lot this has to to with relaxing mortgage lending and then the big financial firms investing too heavily in mortgage funds. Well, with the collapse of the mortgage market ... poof.

I am not a great financial mind, so my understanding of these things tends to be limited.

thanks, I hope I can get over my crabby mood and kick start it again.

Nan... unfortunately it's Monday... but go ahead... tomorrow.. slap someone... :lmao:

I'll be holding my breath until I hear... oh well... :sad2:

I just sent an email overseas... will see what my future holds...

On a happier note, tomorrow is Sukie's birthday.

Oh crap... i forgot a card... thanks for reminding me...

so where do you think I should go to get one that matches his personality????:upsidedow

A gift for all of you ....

I realized that because of my connection with software, I might know about some things that some of you are not aware of:

Don't want to spend money on Photoshop or Photoshop Elements?

Try paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/). I use it at work for graphics editing. I have Photoshop Elements at work, and I actually prefer paint.net)

Can't afford MS Office. The open source alternative (just like Firefox is an open source browser, or Linux is an open source operating system)

Try Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/index.html). You can do word processing, spreadsheet, presentations and database. A very good suite of tools.

so what was the advice of your broker? I have to look back to the dotcom bust and wonder what people will hear and what people will do. I know personally we never thought our stock would devalue like it did. I would assume that people today are thinking the same thing. I told myself that if ever we had the chance to cash in on stock like that again we would, as "cash is King" but now I wonder where do you put the cash and feel safe???

I doubt that, I might be a little lighter but I doubt skinny will ever happen again for me in my life.:sad2:

I keep telling myself that I want to be heart healthy, because my body doesn't seem that it will ever be that 108 again! Heart healthy is good healthy! Keep going Nan.

Ok, permission granted. This is Molly a few weeks ago ready for her christening.

OMG! that child could sell toilet paper, diapers and anything else you put next to her. Absolutely beautiful.

I think it will interfere with both the beginning and ending of school depending on the dates. Of course the schools 2010 cal isn't out yet. I am looking at old posts from the last repo and it looks like they had rough seas going over. I wonder if that is normal for that time of year?

Where did you find that thread? We thought it closed and opened a new one a long time ago. It was rough and they said it was normal. August is usually rougher, but not on that TA.

I had to center it a little more but it looked good enough to steal, thanks Ian.

Thanks, I feel centered.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY

Ditto!!!!! :)

thanks, so very glad to hear your news. The big E is better than most of my family have been their entire lives!

Yeah - what she said....hope you have a great day!

Thanks.

It means that you will be able to vacation here 3 times next year instead of 2.

Yep, we're down $300K, can't take much more!. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

It's so hard to say. But under the mattress, may be a good plan.
