I think I forgot to mention that along with the paperwork to send in for our certified wedding license, the state of California gave Sukie and I a very helpful booklet to advise us on what to expect and do during a pregnancy.

I'm not entirely sure that we'll ever really need that booklet, but is was very considerate of California all the same.

So, I was back at work today. It was not all that bad coming back, but I do have projects with approaching deadlines, and I am feeling a bit pressured.

I probably won't get to do photos of the trip until the weekend, given that all I want to do right now is have dinner and collapse.

I'm not really sure how to eat dinner without Jackie and Cheri there.

GRRR!! I had to call and yelll at Disney today. We are going down a day before the cruise and I wanted to surprise my family by staying at Disney since we get in around 3. So I booked POP last night but then found out DCL doesn't pick up there. OK fine. This moring I called to switch it to Carribean Beach handicap room. They said ok its done and I paid. I happened to check the reservation this afternoon and noticed it said Pop still. So I called back and they said I hadn't switched it and it showed I had 2 rooms.and they were sold out. I said its not sold out and I paid for it after me putting my foot down and demanding they fix it they got it fixed. The lady was great but I was getting very upset. Its fixed but my mom knows about it since she walked in on the conversation but she hates suprises so its ok.

On the bright side we got my dad to try a wheelchair and he likes it as he can get around faster. Now he WANTS an electric one!! Mom is going to get him one before the cruise so he can ride around. This is a great improvment and shows he is finally accepting is Parkinsons.

Will be working on my prototype this evening just cause I'm itchy and need something to work on that isn't needlework or the colors of the afghans that I'm crocheting for my nieces... (I should learn not to make such large blankets for them... :rotfl: )

Yes, Yes!

We always spend two nights at Cocoa Beach on the ocean before the cruise and then 4-6 nights at WDW after the cruise. When we're in Cocoa Beach we go to Fishlips on the water and have dinner and watch the Wonder leave port. It's awesome.

Think about joining us.....maybe some others that are doing that cruise will want to meet at Fishlips again. We had about 30 disers there before the PC repo cruise. That's when I met Cheri for the first time. Gydell organized it.

So what do you say. Port area before cruise and WDW after.:yay: :yay:  :yay: :yay:

Deb... I have a feeling we're all gonna be, as my nephews have always told me... attached to each other's hips... for a very good visit!!!

BTW... Brian's been attached to me for 16 years... :lovestruc

I'm home safe and sound! Had a FANTASTIC time playing at Disneyland & DCA. It was so great to see everybody at the picnic Saturday...has anyone posted photos yet? I have about 56 pages to catch up on, don't think I'll get through them tonight. :goodvibes

I was reading the magazines (cannot remember which one) about the migraine. It said if you had a long lie in the morning, you will get bad migraine. If you get up very early morning, migraine can be less?:confused3

I don't agreed with it as I get up early all the times with kids, still have bad migraine sometime.
Hi Deborah! I'm with you, I don't agree with what that magazine said. I only get to sleep in one day a week, so all the migraines I used to get shouldn't have happened if that were true. :thumbsup2

Order the fish! :lmao: :lmao:

Coffee break over...back to work.....catch y'all later tonight.

.

Hi Jackie and Cheri......welcome home ladies.....glad you're back with us too!

Thanks for sharing stories.....looking forward to the official photographer's shots!!!

Sounds like all's well that ends well, Jill. Disney never claims to always be perfect, but when they do make a mistake, they fix it. So that's good.

I'm glad your family is adjusting to daily life with this illness. It will get better every day.

Prayers and pixie dust coming your way!!!

Cake Topper

I read that there were a lot of questons regarding the cake topper.

I found the woman who does them, Jilly, on-line when I was looking for same-sex toppers.

I just did not like the standard commercial toppers available. It always looked to me like the bride was pried off and two grooms were stuck together.

Jilly did a fantastic job. I had sent her some photos of ourselves and description of whatever unique characteristics that might not show up in a photo (Sukie's nose ring, etc).

I also sent her photos of the dogs.

I provided her with a detailed description of what we were wearing but no photos.

Jilly did an awesome job. There was SO MUCH attention to detail, that does not show up in the the photos (the straw pattern of the hats, stitching on the shoes and clothing, the bead jacket buttons, etc).

Here is a link to Jilly's site:

Wow! I just checked out her site, read about her, and how she makes the toppers, and checked out the pictures. She's great!

If your scouts is anything like ours then you will have den meetings twice a month or even weekly (you and Tyler, or at least one parent at all times) pack meetings parent and son, and activities optional events. While it is fun to attend some of this stuff as a mom, most boys have a dad with them and it's a good bonding situtation for them. At our pack meetings it is usually the whole family that goes. We are a very inclusive pack of siblings since our Pack leader has a daughter same age as our girls (we joined the pack with friends) that daughter is also in my girl scout troop so we tryt o even combine girl and boy scout events when possible. I hope Tyler enjoys scouts. The first year or so is alot of learning & group activities and he will for sure need your help as social situtations can be tricky even without the issues he is faced with.
Thanks Nan, I finally received a return phone call answering those questions today. The den meetings are every Monday or Tuesday (to be determined later) and monthly pack meetings are always on Saturday mornings. So his dad will have to do the Saturday stuff, but I plan on telling him he's more than welcome to also come to the weekly meetings. I have many friends (moms) who always were the ones who took their sons to all scout stuff and were also den leaders or whatever they're called. :thumbsup2 Tyler's actually worried about counting on his dad to get him to the Saturday stuff and asked if I could be sure to remind his dad every day. I was told that for his age (and for a few years, I can't remember the cutoff) a parent has to participate with him, so I'm excited about that. :goodvibes Unfortunately, Tyler's dad often goes fishing on Saturdays, so his stepmom would probably be the one to take him to the monthly things. BUT......I guess summer is over, so he probably won't be fishing much longer, so that's good.

Tyler's really excited about all the activities to earn all the patches, etc. and can't wait to start! Hopefully we'll start soon.

I didn't get Holly's original post. I went to our first BS meeting last Thursday and I was surprised at the support they have. They said they weren't a babysitting service and they expected at least one parent to attend. In GS we had 15 girls and one leader and one co-leader. Most of the parents don't go to the outings in GS. It sounds like the BS expect someone to be there if the child is. I think there should be parent support but I also think it is good for the kids to be away from their parents. The other strange thing about BS was that they have the entire year planned out and in GS we ask the parents and kids what they would like to do. It is also a lot more money to register the kids and adults in BS and the uniforms are more expensive. It sounds like they do more activities though.
The uniform is very expensive, but Tyler's yearly membership fee is $10/year here. :yay: And the woman who signed him up told me at the first meeting, they'll probably ask me to join too, and that would be another $10/year for me. :thumbsup2

I think the parent participation is just because the activities they do are beyond the age level of the younger kids. Once they reach boy scout age (after Tiger, Bear, and whatever, and whatever), I think I read they attend the meetings without parents.

After many years of GS I found them to be very different. BS is a family inclusive club, GS is a grow your daughter independent club. Many things about the 2 groups will be different, I sugest don't assume anything, I did and we were very suprised.

Also, I think every council has money availble for sponsorships for children. Our pack even has a specific scholarship. So the money shoudl never be a reason not to scout. Glad to say we also have that same concept in our council for GS, and we in our troop have also sponsored some of our girls that are less fortunate too.:thumbsup2
That's a nice idea about having the sponsorship money available for kids to join who couldn't otherwise afford it. I think I read something about that. Trying to read everything and it all blurred together.
