It's hard but maybe our generation will change things. We are a lot better than our parents were. Except they didn't have so many parents on crack back then so I guess we still have some worse parents

What about that mother in Orlando whose daughter has been missing since Fathers Day. Now they think that she chloroformed her kid to knock her out because she didn't have a sitter and she went out partying. That's just sick. If she did that, she deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life.

A forensic pathologist interviewed on the news said that they see it all the time and the kids are given all different kinds of drugs too. I can't even imagine this. Some people just don't deserve to have kids.

OK time for some leg care......an antibiotic scrub and a dry wrap. Oh sweetie......I need his help because I can't reach it myself.

Till later. It's almost 7pm here......that means that everyone is eating and drinking and hugging and laughing about now. Have a blast and don't forget to tell us every detail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Sorry I went MIA for a bit.....John just got home from shopping.

People are definitely different today and for the worse. We used to be outside everyday all year long. If your parent wasn't there, your friends parents could dicipline you. The whole neighborhood watched what you did, could dicipline you and told your parents. You behaved.

Especially at halloween, we trick or treated all over the neighborhood on our own from about 7 years old and up. We NEVER once had anything bad in our bags. People in society have changed. It's so Much More dangerous for kids today.:guilty:
I've never heard of anybody having anything bad from trick or treating, but I'd definitely let Tyler trick or treat with friends in our neighborhood in a couple years if we had kids around. Hopefully we'll have some by then. :thumbsup2

You have a conservatory????? OHHHHH.... How lovely.... :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I have a deck....
Don't feel bad Michelle, we have a cement front stoop! :rotfl2: If somebody sits on the step, you can't open the door. :rotfl: My goal is to eventually have a front deck to sit on in the evenings. My dad actually had planned to build one for me last year for my birthday, but I needed a new water heater, so he did that instead.

OH NO Mr. Bill.......

Anyone see those commercials on TV lately? They took it right from Saturday Night Live from many years ago. I loved Mr. Bill. I love the commercials.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I saw them quite a while ago but haven't seen any recently. The first time Tyler saw one, he laughed and said, "That's what you say to Bo!" Meaning his bear, Bo. I always say, "OH NO Mr. Bo!"

I remember the big bug...:scared:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
You mean this one?

Holly, it's nice to know that there are still some places in the world where it's still the same way that it was when I was a kid. I remember sitting out on the front steps with all the neighbors every summer night. We alternated houses, brought the lounge chairs and sat and talked and drank. They had alcohol and we didn't, but we all drank. The good old days. Then the kids would catch lightening bugs. Oh what fun!:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:
It's a lot like that here, but without other kids. The kids across the street are all teenagers. But we often go across the street to visit with the neighbors in the evenings when we see them outside, and a couple other neighbors will come over too occasionally to say hi when they see us outside. It reminds me of my neighborhood when I was a kid, except my mom didn't socialize with neighbors (or anybody actually).

See you later Holly......hugs to Tyler.
Deb, I didn't even get a hug. As I walked up to the house, I heard his dad tell him I was here and Tyler said a very disappointed "Ohhhh". He was grumpy and defiant and not fun to be around, so I was scolding him about speaking disrespectfully to me. His dad just said, "Oh, it's just the transition that's got him thrown off, because he's been in a great mood" and stepmom just stared at the ground, avoiding eye contact (I kept peeking at her just to see :lmao: ). I asked him in the car why he acted to upset about coming with me and he told me "It's just that I hate having to be at your house, I never want to leave my dad's". It was very hard to hear, but I told him it's fine for him to feel that way but not very nice to say it. Much later, after supper, he was apologizing lots. KIDS!

Funny about stepmom though. I wondered if she'd stay in the room with me, since she sort of was forced over that hurdle when I dropped him off on Wednesday and his dad wasn't home yet, so she had to see me. So, she sat in her chair in the living room this time, didn't run out of the room, but still no eye contact. And as we all walked out the door, I turned around and said "see you later" and she was stonefaced and stone silent. :rotfl2: I think I'll start referring to her as the Ice Queen.

Bummer, my computer won't open it. It loaded the whole thing, then told me something like, "we're sorry, windows can't locate the program used to creat this" or something like that. :headache: I HATE MY COMPUTER! I'll try to remember to look at this at work on Monday.

Well folks, I'm going to go sit down and eat the rest of my Subway sub. :thumbsup2

Like you said, KIDS! Well the next time he feels like hugging you, just give him an extra one from me too!

Ice Queen, good name for her. Why can't she just say she was wrong and sorry and get on with it. Whey does she have to hold a grudge? For Tyler's sake at least, she should act civil.

I don't know what her deal is, but I wonder what Tyler's dad thinks of her behavior, or if he even notices. Strange.

WOW Monica, that was SO COOL and Very Appropriate for this weekend.

Congratulations!

OH... don't you know I cry at weddings!!!!:flower3: :flower3:

I called mom upstairs and we watched it together... then over my shoulder I hear... Sniff... Sniff... She was crying!!! (I think she adopted them on our cruise...:lovestruc )

How you found it is beyond me... but I LOVED it!!!

Hi Shannon. What kind of an allowance do kids get these days? I remember getting 50 cents a week when I got mine.

Hi Holly, what's on the agenda for today? Sounds like a movie and nap day for you.

We decided to go with $5 a week, which is enought to rent a video game. They'll have to save 3weeks to get a new webkinz.
