Still have about 10 pages to catch up on...but I'M HOME! Got full power restored AND the AC works! I'm a very happy camper. Do have to throw out a mess of stuff from the fridge (condiments and the like), but was going to do a purge before starting BristoMD anyway. I did forget to take my eggs over to Peg's, so the only real loss was 10 eggs.

I got a call at 2AM that the APS guy was at my house, so I threw on some clothes and got over here. He did find a problem in my fuse box...the breakers LOOKED like they were in the full on position, but weren't. So he took care of that and then hung out for a few mintues to make sure when I turned the AC back on it wouldn't blow everything out again. All was good, so I headed back to Peg's to finish the night out...planning on getting back here early to open up the house and let it cool down as much as possible before turning the ac back on. Well....guess what....I slept till 9:45 AM! I NEVER DO THAT! So I've just been cooling the house in small increments.

Gotta go find some food soon, then must come back and get myself organized here...I've got a trip coming up!

Something to consider! Especially if I can talk JACKIE into spending 1 week in our cottage (in Norfolk). I may have to really think about that...

So what are we planning here? A week in a cottage then a transatlantic? I guess I'd better go catch up!

Why do I need to save money? I think we'll be in San Felipe in October and a few more times this year and I'm sure the river will be in our plans for next summer. Are you saying you want to come along

Kelly, your post brought back memories of the 5K I did at WDW (Epcot/MGM) quite a few years back. (04?) It was so wonderful to walk through the parks with no 'guests' there. I was at the back of the pack and at times felt I had the place to myself, except for the CM's cheering me on! I'd gone to support a friend who was doing it and I told her I'd just bring up the rear and make sure she hadn't wandered off course during her race!

Sounds like it is OK to walk at these marathons. I thought people all ran. If it is OK to walk, then I might want to do it .

Running--nope The last time I ran was probably 20 years ago, I jogged two blocks and had MAJOR PAIN in one knee and the opposite ankle for WEEKS No more running or jogging for me.

What is the cost?
What are the prizes?
What is the schedule?

If it really is OK to walk, I am interested in DETAILS!! For the last four years I have walked in the First Lady of Indiana's Walk for Woman's Heart Health--2 plus miles at the State Fair Grounds.

I too love the old musicals. My favorite it Camelot. I could sing the entire show. I use to listen to the sound track for hours when I was in about 4th grade.

As great as that thought is, it won't happen. Some maybe, but getting us all to agree on the perfect trip is not possible.

Can't remember how long it is since you were here, but much of the discussion has been the 2010 itinerary!! Rumours are noiw strongly for the Med, but if it is alaska, there is a group on here going to knit you and me woolly scarves, socks and complete underwear!!!

Yes... in glow in the dark lime green... John won't be able to sleep for a week!!!

Poor Deb is suffering bad with her leg but John is taking good care of her.

Michelle is riding out Hurricane Gustav in Texas. She has been sharing some of her family history - like a movie it is!!!

Jan...a quick response before I head out to grab some food.

For the WDW marathon and half marathon and I think the 5K's, you have to be able to do a 15 minute mile AVERAGE to avoid being swept up the the 'straggler truck'!

I know but it was funnier my way. We do go to the same places every year and then we throw in a big one every few years. We went to Florida for a month in 1999 and Hawaii in 2004 and the cruise in 2008 so that isn't that long apart is it We went to Scottsdale last year too and we usually go to Palm Springs a few times a year but we haven't yet this year. San Felipe is free and the river is great because we can usually find people to go with.

That is amazing, just out of the blue like that There is always room at the river because we either stay in Laughlin or rent houses in Havasu. The house in San Felipe is small but we could make it work if everyone is willing. If not we can plan a separate trip. We also know some nice places to stay if we want to get A LOT of people to come. It is up to everyone.
