So I just tried to make a dinner resie for Ohana at the Poly for our anniversary night......nope.....sold out already and it's not even Sept yet and I'm making a reservation for a Monday night at the end of Sept. Wow! I had no idea I had to do it so far in advance. Not sure where we'll end up going that night now. Any ideas?:confused3

Well, I'm feeling pretty proud of myself! I spent over 3 hours in the front yard working. I mowed (which only takes about 15 minutes in my front yard) and then worked on weeds on the side of my house and 1/2 of the front of my house. On the side of the house, there were literally TREES growing where they're not supposed to! 2 of them were all the way up to the roof. So that was work, getting those cut little by little until I could dig up the roots. Then I weeded, then I pulled all the growth in sidewalk cracks. I only have 1/2 of the front of the house to finish, but it was getting way too hot and the bees were starting to get aggressive as I was pulling weeds around their flowers. I'll finish that section tonight when the sun starts to go down. Then I have the whole length of my driveway to do, alongside the driveway up against my house are rocks which have become so overgrown with weeds, you can hardly see the rocks. I will try to do that this evening too. Then I'll tackle the backyard tomorrow, which is much larger.

My mom called to wish me happy birthday, and told me she & my aunt would like to come to take me to lunch tomorrow and possibly to the zoo, and they want to help with yardwork in the backyard. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow before they come I'll do a little cleaning inside the house. It's going to be a very productive weekend! Already starting to be so! :goodvibes

Congrats to you for being so productive and great to have mom and auntie help with the yard and the fun stuff! HOORAY!

GUESS WHAT I'M GONNA DO NOW!!!!

I'm headed out to play slot machines! I haven't been to the casino for about 3 years and just love the nickel slots! I usually take $20 with me and just have a blast! :yay:

I'll be back later tonight for your reading pleasure. :rotfl2:

Have Fun and hope you WIN!

Gydell said she would do a PC cruise too. Shw wants a long cruise and doesn't care where it goes!!:lmao:

Sounds great.....is Gydell going on the B2B Tortola with us? If not, why not?

We had b een hoping to do SC etc when we were going up the East coast, but I don't think we are going to have time now. However, we are still really wanting to see this neck of the woods and we will certainly do it again.

You can always keep it in mind for another time. You'll have fun exploring FL for now, there's so much to see there too.

I hope you were able to get some sleep and am glad you're starting to feel better Nan. :goodvibes

Thanks Holly and Marilyn too. I slept way in today. Got up at 12:30pm. The phone was ringing all morning with good news but I was sleeping....

Wilson qualified 2nd and kept 2nd at his heat race. :yay: :yay: :yay: The main is at ~1:30 pm and we have our fingers crossed. Normally he runs 4th or 5th with this crowd, but since he is at his home track he is doing really well. Also last weekend we all got on him for not taking the inside line on this one corner to push someone out and pass and ya know what, he did it this time :thumbsup2 He kept arguing that he was driving the perfect line which is fastest, but we said it was no good since he couldn't force a pass, so it was really good that he took the risk and made the pass :thumbsup2

Aren't we sort of doing that already here? ;)

yes you are correct we are watching it here, but I just figured it would be a perfect place to include the "rest" of the world in that specific conversation and not all our normal daily dribble...but I'm not a thread creator, so I leave it to Jackie's capable hands and it's her call.

Mental note - next time remember the cake,, must have cake for Nan to steal ;)

I just "borrow" the cake, but now that you mention it I'll have a big bite, yum!

Popped in on our 7 year old twin grandaughters' party. What fun. Fortunately for mum and dad it is only one party - there were 27 children there. :headache: They had a guy doing a disco. He was absolutely brilliant. When we arrived they were all dancing doing the moves to HSM, and later Hanna Montana. In between they played games. He was great with the kids, and didn't mind being seen by adults doing all the actions etc etc. Even when the kids were eating tea and he was playing music, he was doin actions, all on his own at the front of the room.

You should have seen the table full of presents. 25 x2. Filled 3 bin bags!!! Big brother Joel was not impressed with that.:lmao:

OH WHAT FUN!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I am... nervously watching the news and also trying not to declare war with my sister who has a total of 3 whole bottles of water and apparently not much of an evacuation plan if we do have to leave... I'm hoping not... but I have no idea what to do...

BTW...I'm beginning to think no one is reading Planky much... I told him not to take too much of a sabatical after the cruise... ;)

Oh NO Michelle, remember that Monica said she could feel the effects of the bands in Orlando and Gustav is just passing Cuba. Even if it comes onto land in New Orleans, you're way too close to it.....you're going to get hit hard. Aren't you on the water in Texas? It's supposed to hit land Monday sometime. New Orleans is being evacuated today. Be smart and be careful. I'm going to be worried about you now.

mint choc chip from Baskin Robbins for ice cream please:flower3: Ya know I scooped there for a year in high school right? The best job I ever had :yay:

Paul just called mid race (kinda freaks me out) Wilson is strong in 2nd place at lap 5 or 10. I couldn't listen to it in the background so I told him to call me when it was done. Fingers crossed

Depends on what you like? We really liked the Grand Floridian Cafe and a few people have said it is even better now. It isn't as expensive as some, and the desserts are fab!!! They do a chocolate fondue. If you fancy going off site, Season's 52 up on Sand Lake Road is fantastic. The best steak ever and a great adult atmosphere. They use foods in season, hence their name. We are planning on eating there twice in December.

Glad you got some good sleep eventually Nan.

Well done Wilson.:thumbsup2

HE DID IT!!!!!

WILSON TOOK 2nd PLACE!!!!!

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD DAY FOR HIM.

I wish I was there to give him a big hug!!!!

I get to see them in about 3 hours, I think we might make a celebration for him to come home to.

This is the best place he has had in the IKF series. This is the race series that we travel all around Northern Ca for. WOW, such a great day, I'm so proud of him

Ok, It is official that I can't keep up so I'll just keep popping in...did read a bit....saw some green and figured Deb was back:goodvibes
Deb, sorry you are still suffering with this, but it does sound like things are moving in the right direction. Do you know what the infection is?? Have they told you Staph or Strep or something else? I have had many patients battle this over the years and have had great success in getting it to stop coming back. I don't know if there are ND's in PA, but it might be worth a try, or you could PM me if you wanted some simple advice. Without seeing it myself I would have a hard time really treating you (or anyone) from such a distance. But my thoughts are with you....you can beat this!!! :cool1:

Speaking of that...Gaylean...weren't we talking about something right before I got sick....my mind is a bit of a blur, remind me if we were.......

Nan....CONGRATS to Wil. Can't wait to hear how he did in the final. Text me when you find out, I'm not sure I'll be on line too much this weekend.

I tried to do some searching on some Seattle sites I know for possible hints about DCL and AK, but I didn't come up with anything. So, I guess we just need to wait and see. Oct. 7 is the date, right?

I was able to go to the Hawks game last night and watch them win! :yay: It wasn't as bad as a typical game since it wasn't sold out, but I think I'll be able to manage the crowds as long as Scott stays on my L side. :cheer2:

Have a great long weekend everyone!
