Deb - great to see you! I have/had no doubt that John would be taking great care of you :lovestruc Take care of yourself too - check in when you can :goodvibes

Already starting to deal w/ outer bands of Gustav - it's amazing how HUGE he is.

Getting ready to run over to IKEA - 3 day labor day sale - famous comfy chair (starts w/ a P) on sale $30 off so off to get that.

Spoke w/ Lisa, Sydney, Ian & David (BIL) today - had to get times finalized for trip to MD.

Cheri - good to see you back.

Will check in w/ everyone later.

Hi Monica, thanks for all the good wishes. Yes, John is a keeper.....when we said vows to take care of each other in sickness and health, I didn't know that the sickness part was going to last a whole year......!!!.....Ian, Sukie, take notes!!!

Wow! Gustav must really be big if you're feeling the effects of the outer bands in Orlando when he's still in Cuba. Wow! That's Big! John and me are looking at the storms past Hanna.....coz they should be getting to land about the time that we're getting to FL and we've already been chased off a cruise and out of Orlando from a hurricane in the past. We ended up riding it out in Charleston, SC. It was nice, but not what we were planning to do.

Hope you got your chair at IKEA. Take a pic and post please.

John says you should be flying back from MD just about when we hit the road to drive down to FL......we'll wave to you as we pass!

John and me talked about the 2010 cruises this morning over coffee. We said the Magic and the Wonder are not ready to do an Alaskian trip. The pools would have to be enclosed. So they probably will wait until 2011 and 2012 to do Alaska when the new ships are out. That leaves the Med and the PC. We probably won't be able to do the Med because of airfare expense on top of the cruise expense. We said we would do another PC crossing if all of you are doing it too.....we just won't get off the ship for most of the ports.

John said, it looks like I'm going to have to start doing a lot of OT at work to pay for our cruise plans.

Oh, I so hope it is a PC cruise. I started the drip drip drip at John today. I think he has cottoned on!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hi Marilyn, did you miss me??? That's what Gaylean would say!

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope this is the last time we have to go thru this too. I will stay positive and believe it, so maybe it will work.

I did miss you deb, but you had said you might be out of action for a while, so I knew you would be back. I did want to know how you were though.

Looks like Gustav is going to be nasty, and on its way to near New Orleans!:sad2: I didn't actually realise you would be affected by it though.

Where is Ikea? Do they do a cheap breakfast deal like they do here and in Spain?

Deb... tell John we love him for taking such good care of you... :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I always said my story would make it on Oprah...

Oh and my ancestors were tossed out of Quebec for being horse thieves...

Oh and about the cake...

:rotfl2::cake: :rotfl2:

Hi Michelle, I did tell John what you said and he said you are the best! It really touched him......you're so sweet! Thanks!

I love hearing the stories about your crazy family......particularly your dad's side! Ha Ha it keeps me laughing trying to sort thru it all!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks - I loved formal nights!!!

Hi Lisa, hugs back at'cha!

I must say, speaking as one of your dinnermates and having had the privledge of seeing you each night, you and Darrell looked absolutely splendid during the formal nights. You both really looked sharp! ......Good enough to compete with Ian and Sukie!!! Ha Ha :lmao: :lmao:

You still had some left  What did you get from Baskin Robins?
I actually haven't even used my Baskin Robins freebie yet because I had the other leftover. But I finished it for breakfast! ;) Might use the Baskin Robins one later today.

See? I knew I'd find the update if I remained patient! Deb, this doesn't sound good, but I'm so glad you're not in the hospital. We were all worried about that happening. Thank goodness you have a great guy like John to take care of you.

Hi sweetie.....no, it isn't good at all. I'm so afraid of going septic, meaning the infection spreads to my blood.....or worse yet, losing a limb because they can't control the infection anymore. Either way, it's very scary that it's not healed after one year and that it can get worse again like it's doing now.

On the bright side, it must be manageable this time because they didn't put me into the hospital again. YEAH!

I am extremely fortunate that I have John to take care of me. I can't even imagine my life without him. I'm so thankful.:lovestruc :lovestruc

Well, I'm feeling pretty proud of myself! I spent over 3 hours in the front yard working. I mowed (which only takes about 15 minutes in my front yard) and then worked on weeds on the side of my house and 1/2 of the front of my house. On the side of the house, there were literally TREES growing where they're not supposed to! 2 of them were all the way up to the roof. So that was work, getting those cut little by little until I could dig up the roots. Then I weeded, then I pulled all the growth in sidewalk cracks. I only have 1/2 of the front of the house to finish, but it was getting way too hot and the bees were starting to get aggressive as I was pulling weeds around their flowers. I'll finish that section tonight when the sun starts to go down. Then I have the whole length of my driveway to do, alongside the driveway up against my house are rocks which have become so overgrown with weeds, you can hardly see the rocks. I will try to do that this evening too. Then I'll tackle the backyard tomorrow, which is much larger.

My mom called to wish me happy birthday, and told me she & my aunt would like to come to take me to lunch tomorrow and possibly to the zoo, and they want to help with yardwork in the backyard. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow before they come I'll do a little cleaning inside the house. It's going to be a very productive weekend! Already starting to be so! :goodvibes

We had no where near the accessories though!! :rotfl2:

Can't wait to see you guys next month!!

GUESS WHAT I'M GONNA DO NOW!!!!

I'm headed out to play slot machines! I haven't been to the casino for about 3 years and just love the nickel slots! I usually take $20 with me and just have a blast! :yay:

I'll be back later tonight for your reading pleasure. :rotfl2:

Marilyn, if you do another PC cruise then I'll do another PC cruise! Normally, I would say, been there.....done that, and not repeat the cruise. I didn't even like most of the ports. My favorite ports on a DCL trip was the Southern Caribbean....they were the best! I would do that trip again and again. BUT if you're going to do the PC, then I'm going to do the PC.....unless they offer a Southern again!

I did miss you deb, but you had said you might be out of action for a while, so I knew you would be back. I did want to know how you were though.

So sweet!

Marilyn, you and John should try to visit Myrtle Beach, SC and Charleston, SC while you are here visiting on your next trip. Myrtle Beach is very fun with lots of amusements.....it's like a mini Orlando. Charleston is very historic and beautiful. Both are seaside towns with beautiful beaches.

Conveniently, they're not far past the Georgia border. If you were going to travel to Savannah, GA, then SC would not be too far out of the way. You should check it out on the internet at any rate......JMHO.

& my father's side does provide some laughs...

but mom's is a hoot too.... :rolleyes1

One must have dinner!

What a perfect birthday treat that would be.....to eat ice cream for every meal of the day! :woohoo: :yay:

Gydell said she would do a PC cruise too. Shw wants a long cruise and doesn't care where it goes!!:lmao:

We had b een hoping to do SC etc when we were going up the East coast, but I don't think we are going to have time now. However, we are still really wanting to see this neck of the woods and we will certainly do it again.

I've been showing Planky's TR to my nephew today... :sad2:

He thinks I'm a nutcase...

I told him he knew that long ago!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Popped in on our 7 year old twin grandaughters' party. What fun. Fortunately for mum and dad it is only one party - there were 27 children there. :headache: They had a guy doing a disco. He was absolutely brilliant. When we arrived they were all dancing doing the moves to HSM, and later Hanna Montana. In between they played games. He was great with the kids, and didn't mind being seen by adults doing all the actions etc etc. Even when the kids were eating tea and he was playing music, he was doin actions, all on his own at the front of the room.

You should have seen the table full of presents. 25 x2. Filled 3 bin bags!!! Big brother Joel was not impressed with that.:lmao:

You a nutcase?:lmao: :lmao: Nooooo never.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Michelle, are you still in Texas?

I am... nervously watching the news and also trying not to declare war with my sister who has a total of 3 whole bottles of water and apparently not much of an evacuation plan if we do have to leave... I'm hoping not... but I have no idea what to do...

BTW...I'm beginning to think no one is reading Planky much... I told him not to take too much of a sabatical after the cruise... ;)
