We didn't get many of the old British films on TV. We got some but not many.

I remember seeing mainly Alec Guinness films and such, but very few Gracie Fields films.

Though, Gracie was a "crossover" in her day, and was known and popular in the US.

That was really quite an accomplishment in the days before television.

This was Mrs. Woody's favorite restaurant on Rarotonga, Cook Islands, so we went twice.

Very pretty! And the menu looks wonderful! I'd want to go there twice too.

In Rotorua, NZ, we saw the geothermal pools at Wai-O-Tapu. Artist's Palette is absolutely breathtaking.

The geothermal pools area looks so much like Yellowstone. But Artist's Palette looks amazing from the link you provided.

One built specially for going Transatlantic(and I presume any heavy seas). The hull is different to the modern cruise ships. The cunard regulars don't like us calling the Queen Mary 2 a cruise ship!!! She is an ocean liner!!! You should see the posts on Cruise Critic.

Speaking of Cruise Critic, I received a Happy Birthday email from both Cruise Critic and DISboards, one right after the other, but DISboards came through first!

Thanks Marilyn! I was planning on sleeping until noon, just because I can, but I'd forgotten to turn off my alarm, so it woke me up at 7:30am. I went back to sleep and then my dad called and woke me up at 10am. Oh well. I guess I should get moving and get my mowing over with.

OK, here's the final one. This was Tyler's first time sparring. The new class he started doing, the leadership program, requires much more equipment (which I've ordered but it hasn't yet arrived) and they also do sparring (for 30 seconds). He'd never done it before, and the kid they put him with has been doing tournaments for a while, so he's very experienced. His mom told me he often forgets that you're only allowed to make physical contact in tournaments, NOT in class! Fortunately, the teacher yanked him back as soon as she noticed.

Tyler told me afterwards that he wasn't worried because he's watched the other kid before and knows he forgets not to make contact and told me he wasn't scared at all.

Quick posting from Peg's house. Second storm hit last night too and I'm without power. Just my unit, think I got hit! Power compmay will be out at some time, but have a mess of bigger issues to deal with right now (we still didn't have everything back from Thursday's storm). Friday morning it took me over an hour and a half to get to work because of all the downed power lines and trees! What a mess. To cheer me up, Peg's taking me to breakfast, as if we wouldn't be doing that anyway
