Yeah, that the reason. My trip would have been SO MUCH better if you were there with us.

Are you counting down the days until we see each other again? I'm still working on the deposit for 2010 ;) Maybe I can borrow the money from Steph :lmao:

I think you just saved many of us some hard earned money. We've thought many times that we'd take a cheaper vacation than DCL and jump on that ship... thanks for saving us. I am the cheapest person on earth, so that kind of thing would just send me off into the ocean. ...............

THRIFTY Kelly, THRIFTY!!

Jan :earsgirl:

Sure Sure, since I'm borrowing from Venetia!

Hopefully disney will still be offering their 1/2 deposit in october! Keep your fingers crossed!

I guess we'll just have to hitch hike. Oh wait....Venetia has already tried that!

Hi Everybody
Well Ian and I are going to Aberdeen (north) for Beach Ballroom for dance and I am looking forward to meet old friends there. My brother will be 49 on Friday. Good to have family together.

Scottishwee35

Do you do Ballroom Dancing? I'd like to learn some real dancing one day. Ken's agreed to do country dancing lessons with me at some point in the future :thumbsup2

So wish me luck I just signed up for BOOT CAMP! It starts after the wedding, so I can eat cake, or donuts, or whatever...

:scared1: BOOT CAMP - Good luck - Hope its fun and works for you :)

Brooke is fine now. She woke up this morning with no fever and no pain in her throat or tooth. I never took her to the dentist because she wouldn't see her while she had a fever.

TV is boring here in the summer and for some reason TV doesn't start when the kids go back to school. There are very few shows I like anyway because I like sitcoms and all we have is crime shows and reality shows. I did watch more movies this summer than I ever have.

My friend invited us for food and drinks this Friday and we are going to a party Saturday so that should be fun.

Glad to hear Brooke is fine again. New TV shows are starting in Sept. There's a new sitcom "worst week" with the dad from 70's show as the father-in-law, so maybe something funny to watch :confused3

And do you notice there are more pictures of the first kid? Tom's theory is that when there is one kid you have a photographer and a point person. When there are two kids, each is a point person and no one has hands free for the camera.

Jan ::yes::

Definitely more pictures of kid#1, her baby book is done better, she has a nice photoframe cross-stitch magnet on the fridge and Kaleigh still doesn't. There's just more time with kid #1. Also with Shaelyn there's lots of pictures of just her as a baby or her with one of us. With Kaleigh there's mostly pictures of her with Shaelyn more than her alone or her with Ken or I.

Hey Gaylean! :wave2: I'm trying to pop on here more regularly again. I have gotten so used to my sight as it is that I can read again which means I can post again!!! :)

Kaylee - that's fantastic that you can post again regularly :)

hi ya there over the pond. i'm up late with a sore throat. just can't sleep. i'm having a cup of tea with honey and watching bad tv, hopefully this will work...

Nan - I hope you got some sleep and are feeling better :)

I know Kelly wouldn't have done it on purpose - just being me ;)

Now just being nosey & getting curious!

:sad1: I didn't get anything :sad2: Okay I'm just being a wuzz, I don't get to go to the wedding extravaganza event, so no email. :lmao:

Birthdays are suppose to be the best day EVER!!!!! At least come on and have a beer with Shannon and me. Are you available? I bet Shannon doesn't have Monday off huh?

YES! I get Monday off :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Its a stat holiday here too. LABOUR day stat :cool1: Are we chatting on Friday night, which will lead into Saturday morning to wish Holly a Happy Birthday?

Sukie and I, like Ken to Barbie, are merely accessories.

You're out of touch - Barbie and Ken are history, they broke up in 2004. Its so sad to see a long time couple call it quits :lmao:

Sure Sure, since I'm borrowing from Venetia!

Hopefully disney will still be offering their 1/2 deposit in october! Keep your fingers crossed!

I'm hoping so too!

......
I keep laughing because our committee keep saying that our games won't be on the great extravagant scale as Beijing but will be different etc etc. Basically they are saying we aren't spending lots of money(?!) on them!!!:lmao:

However, some country is going to have to start down scaling the extravagance at some time I guess.

And very appropriate that the British return things to a manner of decorum and thrift! ::yes::

Jan :thumbsup2

Nan, I hope you're feeling better today.

I finally stopped seeing the clock around 4am. Woke up at 7 or so and have tried between now and then to doze. What a terrible night of sleep. I feel like I need to go to bed again, yawning all the time. Sadly I rolled over at one point and found Paul in bed too, migraine :headache: Poor guy he has been getting them for about a year or so. I wish he would get checked out at the doctor, but nope he won't do it.

Ian, your L story sounds terrible. I don't think I'd like being trapped in with no car.

That was a bad night (and day as it happens) you had. Hope you get a better one tonight.

I think this is a great idea....ease Tyler into the change.
Thanks Monica. I really hope his dad agrees. I'd love for Tyler to experience camp, but with this sort of trial period first. :thumbsup2

This will be our bedroom. Check out the balcony!!

That is the top of the pool netting you can see and a lake behind.
Very nice! :goodvibes

You know how I'm always saying stand in someone else's shoes? Think about it like this: you know how happy it makes you to think about the day that Tyler came into your life? And when his b'day comes how wonderful the warmth of his smile and laughter makes you feel. Maybe that's still how your parent's feel. It's that warmth of remembering how much they love that you came into their life. It's just a thought, not all parents feel that way. Our parents barely know it's our b'days, so my sister and I always do something special for ourselves because our b'days are so close together. Don't let them bum you out with their disappointment, it is your day and you go through different feelings at different ages.

Hey Grammaz, do you ever feel that way on your children's b'day.
Very good perspective Kelly! My mom doesn't have those feelings because loving was definitely not a word that described her. She never wanted kids and that was very evident in her parenting. We get along, but there are no feelings of love between us. More like a friendship. My dad, on the other hand, would probably feel the way you mentioned. Oh well, he'll just have to hold a grudge. It's my day and I want to enjoy peace and quiet. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

See Holly, they want to spend it with you because they are proud that they remembered it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
:lmao: Well, that might be true in my mom's case! She usually calls me near the end of September and says, "Um, I think you had a birthday that I missed!" :rotfl2: It doesn't bother me, because that's just how she is and I expect it. ;) My dad, on the other hand, starts hounding me 2 months before with "What do you want for your birthday" every time I talk to him. :headache: I never want anything because I have too much stuff, so he always gives me a $50 Walmart gift card. Occasionally I throw him for a loop and tell him candles (because I do burn candles every day and go through lots), and then he's happy because he can actually buy something. :thumbsup2

Looks like my dear sister is going to foot the bill for a quick weekend trip up to MD the weekend of the 20th of September  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: (what other smiley can I add to show my excitement :lmao: ). I have a 3 day weekend then.

This works out perfectly - Gydell leaves here on the 19th, and Deb & John don't get here until the 26th :goodvibes

Now just have to work out times w/ my sister to work around Sydney's sleep schedule.
Great news Monica!!!!
:jumping1:

Well, let's see.....that's a Saturday night, so I think so. BUT, I plan on treating myself to a casino run! I haven't been in about 3 years and with $20 I can go crazy with the nickel slots! :rotfl: I haven't decided if I'm going Friday after work or sometime Saturday.

Nan:      for you and Paul.

One afternoon, a wealthy lawyer was riding in the back of his limousine when he saw two men eating grass by the road side. He ordered his driver to stop and he got out to investigate.

"Why are you eating grass?", he asked one man.

"We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied.

"Oh, come along with me then."

"But sir, I have a wife with two children!"

"Bring them along! And you, come with us too!", he said to the other man.

"But sir, I have a wife with six children!" the second man answered.

"Bring them as well!" They all climbed into the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limo.

Once underway, one of the poor fellows says, "Sir,you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you."

The lawyer replied, "No problem, the grass at my home is about two feet tall."

Nan:      for you and Paul.

thanks, I'm dragging around here today for sure. Paul got up and showered, he is feeling better now. He made me go with him to the go-kart shop to get Willie's engine. It needed new springs and whatever. I really didn't want to go out, it's hot today 103 allready, but he forced me. Now I'm tried maybe I can have a nap and get some real sleep.

hee hee, I needed a good lawyer joke.

I just got another request to send my father's death certificate inorder to close out the propane account at the house on the lake. I'm so tired of telling people my dad is dead and even more tired of having to prove it. Paul was ranting that it's the stupid lawyer and insurance companies that have made it so hard to do business in a normal fashion these days. When I die I hope to make this part of dealing with an estate easier. I might have to find a way to haunt my kids in a good way so they aren't bugged so much by this like I am.:sad2:
