My niece's 7th birthday is next month. She has decided on a Pirate and Princess party (was originally going all princess but then wanted to invite 2 boys so we convinced her to add the pirate part).

We need suggestions for activities to keep about 20 kids busy for 3 hours.

So far there is going to be a pinata and cake.

Any ideas?

My dad will eat green beans at every meal too! Mom has to mix it up as she gets tired of them.

If only we all did what our doctors told us - I had pizza for dinner followed by a fun size twix :scared1:
Well, at least your dinner was better for you than mine! :rotfl:

THREE HOURS?! Yikes. I'd cut that time in 1/2, and then check out Oriental Trading Company's website. They have lots of great craft activities that would be fun for parties, as well as everything you'd need for goody bags. :thumbsup2 How about a scavenger hunt?

We all know how sweet Jan is, right? Well, I want to share another example of her big heart! Not sure if anybody remembers, but a while back, she posted a picture of the camo afghan she made for a baby gift, and I'd posted how much Tyler loved it when I showed it to him and he hoped Santa could bring him one. ;)

Well, look what showed up in our mail yesterday for Tyler:

I'm suffering from horrible biological calendar problems. I feel like it should be Friday today.

Good new is that we got an email this afternoon that the company will close at 2PM tomorrow.

I am slipping into vacation mode very rapidly, even though I go back to work for one day next week, Tuesday.

So, how do Sukie and I count anniversaries after we're married. We've been together for 21 years. What do we count? If it's from the wedding, I'll be 78 years old by the time we reach our 25 wedding anniversary.

Even scarier is that by the time we reach our 25th wedding anniversary, we will have spent 46 years of our lives together :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

The moral if this story is ... be careful who you talk to at a cocktail party. You might wind up, waking up 21 years later, looking over and thinking, "Who the hell are you?"

I forgot about Oriental Trading - craft projects would be good.

Thanks :thumbsup2

That is awesome!!!

IAN

SEE YOU IN EIGHT DAYS!

See the rest of the 'wedding gang' in NINE days.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

That is awesome!!!
Sure is! As soon as he opened the box, he immediately remembered seeing the picture of the other one Jan made and he just couldn't believe it! I just had to share how happy she made him. Thanks again Jan!

Oh, she's actually asked me (way back when she was speaking to me :lmao:) how I get him to eat veggies at dinner. I told her I put them on his plate and he eats them. :rotfl2: She says he won't eat them over there and I told her it's because he knows they have other options available. He knows I don't. I did tell his dad yesterday how he was even eating peas the other day, which he absolutely hates. After every bite, he'd say "yuck" and would keep eating them. :rotfl: He really only wants green beans with every meal, but I didn't realize we were out of them and I wasn't about to rush up to the store before dinner, so he had to make do with peas. He told me he doesn't like them but will eat them because he wants to do what his doctor told him to do. :thumbsup2

Tell her to get the correct freakin veggies!

Kelly, I just talked to my dad on the phone a few minutes ago. He called to ask if I'd changed my mind about coming to town this weekend. I told him that since Tyler's gone, I'd just rather come visit another time so that he can visit with them too, otherwise Tyler'd be sad about not being able to go see them. Then I told him I'm sorry if I hurt his feelings the other day about this, but that I really feel that it's my day and want to spend it my way this year, meaning I just want to enjoy my extra alone time and enjoy the peace and quiet. He told me "That's OK, but I'm still going to celebrate." I told him he can have a few beers that night in my honor and if I'm home, I'll have a couple too at around the same time. :thumbsup2 He got a kick out of that and then told me they're putting something in the mail for me tomorrow. Of course, that means my Walmart gift card! I told Tyler this year I want to buy the set of the original Star Wars movies with it! He thinks it's for him, but it's really for me.....I'll just try to share and let him watch it with me! ;)

Sounds like you made him feel better and got what you wanted in the first place... good communicating:thumbsup2

Pirate tattoos... gives the parents something to do (putting them on)

Pirate nailpolish too.

How to walk and talk like a pirate. Put a bunch of funny scenes into a fishbowl and they have to draw out a scene and act it out like a pirate. For example 2 pirates grocery shopping.

ha, I say that too, but our story is from a bar with Kamazies all around...you have 2 anniversaries now. The one from the beginning and the wedding. Since I'm so nice to my darling husband I picked our wedding day/date to match the meeting date (+5 years) and since I'm even nicer  I tell him we can just use the Friday after Thanksgiving instead of the real date (11/30) of course what I really mean is you owe me for 3 anniversaries, get it :dance3:

Here are some pics from last Sunday at AK and DHS:

We tried Yak & Yeti for lunch - very good

I had the Crispy Honey Chicken w/brown rice

And Darrell had the Sweet n Sour Chicken w/Jasmine rice

For dinner we went to Prime Time Cafe

I had the pot roast

And Darrell had the fried chicken

(Jackie this pictures for you :lmao: )

We also had the Smore's at Prime Time but there was nothing left but chocolate smears on the plate by the time I thought of taking a picture.

Thanks - I really like the fishbowl idea.

Not sure if the boys parents would like the nailpolish :scared1: But princess nail polish in the girls favor bags would be great!

And we did take pictures that weren't of food.

Notice Darrell's shirt matches the room - Yak & Yeti has a Dis green room!

And here is one of me - yep we were wearing matching shirts
