Really humid days, near the end of summer, being near a heavy farm area, STINKS! :rotfl2: Literally! MSU is very much an agricultural school, so they have tons and tons and tons of farms. The office building where I work is almost in the middle of the farms. GROSS! I only mention it because I'm watching the news, and there was a bit about how many newcomers to the Lansing area are disgusted by the smell. HAHAHA!

If they don't like it they can live somewhere else! Like in a CITY like me! Help revitalize urban USA. (Thank you)

The farms were there first. The US produces a LOT of food (and we give a lot away in times of disaster.)

What do they want to eat--rocks?

.HONESTLY. ....I'm just posting these to give Ian some help for all the days they'll be at DLR~ :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Speaking of which, is Sukie a vegatarian?

Here's the tomato, artichoke, mozzeralla sandwich from the Trottoria.

That's a dang good question....I don't know who all is attending??? :confused3
I know I'll be there, and Cheri and Ian and Suki (duh) and Kelly and Nan and family. I'm not sure who else of the California gang is coming for sure...I think (and hope!) Galyeen is and Bubba & Venitia...but I don't know for sure. Maybe some folks are planning on being surprise guests! I know Mr & Mrs Woody won't be able to attend (you never know for sure WHERE on the planet those two are :lmao: )

You never have to worry about photos when Cheri is around!

.
I'm so sad about not coming. I'm counting on tons of pictures!

It is a line from a a very famous Rudyard Kipling poem:

Gunga Din by Rudyard Kipling
You may talk o' gin and beer
When you're quartered safe out 'ere,
An' you're sent to penny-fights an' Aldershot it;
But when it comes to slaughter
You will do your work on water,
An' you'll lick the bloomin' boots of 'im that's got it.
Now in Injia's sunny clime,
Where I used to spend my time
A-servin' of 'Er Majesty the Queen,
Of all them blackfaced crew
The finest man I knew
Was our regimental bhisti, Gunga Din.
He was "Din! Din! Din!
You limpin' lump o' brick-dust, Gunga Din!
Hi! slippery hitherao!
Water, get it! Panee lao!
You squidgy-nosed old idol, Gunga Din."

The uniform 'e wore
Was nothin' much before,
An' rather less than 'arf o' that be'ind,
For a piece o' twisty rag
An' a goatskin water-bag
Was all the field-equipment 'e could find.
When the sweatin' troop-train lay
In a sidin' through the day,
Where the 'eat would make your bloomin' eyebrows crawl,
We shouted "Harry By!"
Till our throats were bricky-dry,
Then we wopped 'im 'cause 'e couldn't serve us all.
It was "Din! Din! Din!
You 'eathen, where the mischief 'ave you been?
You put some juldee in it
Or I'll marrow you this minute
If you don't fill up my helmet, Gunga Din!"

'E would dot an' carry one
Till the longest day was done;
An' 'e didn't seem to know the use o' fear.
If we charged or broke or cut,
You could bet your bloomin' nut,
'E'd be waitin' fifty paces right flank rear.
With 'is mussick on 'is back,
'E would skip with our attack,
An' watch us till the bugles made "Retire",
An' for all 'is dirty 'ide
'E was white, clear white, inside
When 'e went to tend the wounded under fire!
It was "Din! Din! Din!"
With the bullets kickin' dust-spots on the green.
When the cartridges ran out,
You could hear the front-files shout,
"Hi! ammunition-mules an' Gunga Din!"

I shan't forgit the night
When I dropped be'ind the fight
With a bullet where my belt-plate should 'a' been.
I was chokin' mad with thirst,
An' the man that spied me first
Was our good old grinnin', gruntin' Gunga Din.
'E lifted up my 'ead,
An' he plugged me where I bled,
An' 'e guv me 'arf-a-pint o' water-green:
It was crawlin' and it stunk,
But of all the drinks I've drunk,
I'm gratefullest to one from Gunga Din.
It was "Din! Din! Din!
'Ere's a beggar with a bullet through 'is spleen;
'E's chawin' up the ground,
An' 'e's kickin' all around:
For Gawd's sake git the water, Gunga Din!"

'E carried me away
To where a dooli lay,
An' a bullet come an' drilled the beggar clean.
'E put me safe inside,
An' just before 'e died,
"I 'ope you liked your drink", sez Gunga Din.
So I'll meet 'im later on
At the place where 'e is gone --
Where it's always double drill and no canteen;
'E'll be squattin' on the coals
Givin' drink to poor damned souls,
An' I'll get a swig in hell from Gunga Din!
Yes, Din! Din! Din!
You Lazarushian-leather Gunga Din!
Though I've belted you and flayed you,
By the livin' Gawd that made you,

You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

Did you see the movie about Rudyard with Daniel Radcliffe?

We're on hold to finalize anything until we've heard from everyone about the final total. It is the first weekend of school, so it is a very hard weekend for most people to get away, so I suspect we will be a small lovely group. :lovestruc

Oh my gosh, I WANT that tomato mozerella sandwich! YUMMY!!! OK Jackie, you're making me hungry, so I'm out of here. :lmao: But seriously, I have to hop in the shower, fold the clothes in the dryer and put the next load in the dryer, then head to Walmart for groceries and get back home to put them away before I pick Tyler up at 5. Oh.....I also have to get his shoes at Walmart. He wants to have shoes to match mine. :rotfl2: See, last week I found camo tennis shoes for him at Walmart. He loved them, but didn't want to buy them because he's been wearing Crocs all summer and not ready for real shoes yet. He wants to wait until it starts snowing. Well, I told him they won't have these shoes anymore by that time, so then he thought he might like the light-up Batman ones instead. Since he couldn't decide, I told him we'll just come back another day soon and pick. While we were there, I found some camo shoes for myself that are identical to the ones he tried on, EXCEPT mine have pink stitching and pink laces. They're sort of like Airwalk shoes (but just a cheapy brand) and will be great with jeans this fall. A few days later, Tyler kept looking at mine and told me he decided he wants the camo ones he tried on so that we can match. SO......here's hoping they still have his size after all the back to school shopping frenzy which we didn't bother with.

Have a great day everybody! You know I'll be back after Tyler's in bed. :thumbsup2

Sorry....can you tell I've been visiting the Disneyland restaurant dining review thread?

I guess I won't post pictures from Cafe Orleans....thouse beingets may just put you over the edge!

.

Now, I never got any of those when we were there in may. However, we have had a few at POFQ!!! Mmmmmmmm, yummy.

MARILYN CLOSE YOUR EYES..

I was just reminded that they have DARK chocolate covered strawberries at Pooh Corner......

Did you see the movie about Rudyard with Daniel Radcliffe?

Yes! We really liked "My Boy Jack," and it was interesting to see Daniel Radcliffe doing another role.

The sad part is that it's true. Rudyard Kipling never forgave himself for what he did to his son.

We are back from the movies. We walked up the street to the theatre on the corner to see "Tropic Thunder." We really liked it, but then we typically like Ben Stiller movies.

At work, my guys and I quote all the time from Zoolander.

I LOVED Zoolander. Was dragged to see it and laughed my behind off! :thumbsup2

Oh, Ian, I saw a good/recent review of Hook's Point, so you guys should try it (I'm now officially sad that it is closed on Sunday/Monday).

Seems I have found more places for lunch in DLR than there are days I'll be needing lunch! I wonder what time my assignments will start on Saturday??? Kelly, how many cupcake need to be iced and how many corn dogs dipped???

Well, it's PAST lunch time here. Peg slept in so no early movie for us. We might do a twilight instead. Think I'll hit the shower and throw on some clothes and get the ball rolling here.

.

Are you still ok? No after affects?;)

Thank you for asking.

No, I think I'm fine, and am going to be fine.

It was more like grit and not big shards of glass. Though I do have a odd sudden craving for Windex.

One of my guys had a cough last week, and after he would cough, I'd do a tiny little cough cough and say, "I got the black lung, Pop."

This would set him off laughing and then coughing some more.

Jackie - go see Tropic Thunder.

By the way --- what time do you arrive Friday? Any chance of Hook's Pointe then?

So far, I have the Blue Bayou for Wednesday night and Napa Rose for Thursday night, which is the day we get married. I had contemplated Hook's Point for Friday night.

I still have no idea what the festivities are going to be.

Funny, I was just looking at the movie times and wrote that one down in case my DBil wants to do a movie with us too.

I'm off to grab a gyro and then take a NAP!

.

Oh... so it's you guys that put up all those pages last night... A girl gets some sleep and trys to catch with the world and you guys just go on gossiping... and gossiping... :lmao:

(I'm just jealous you went on without me...;) )
