She did!!!:lmao: Oh, sorry, perhaps I shouldn't laugh.(:rotfl2: )

Not 'proper' English. You should use a better descriptive word! Like 'lovely' of course!:rotfl:

What is funny about that?:confused3 ;) :snooty:

You're still laughing, even if you put it in parentheses (:lmao: ) see.

So have a nice day isn't proper? I guess you should know proper English.

It's funny. Picture it and you'd be in your jammies too!

:goodvibes Good Morning V, nice to see you here :goodvibes

Was woken up early this morning 6am or so to a strange noise, I thought it was the garbage truck, I was wrong it was our neighbor's employee driving his dump truck into our tree :scared1: Instead of stopping when he hit the tree he drove forward and ripped it apart. We are now having a large mature tree (20-30 years old) cut down from our park strip. :sad2: It was very pretty and gave nice look and shade. I've asked to have a Crape Mertle replaced for it. They have a pretty flowering plant, but of course it will be a small tree compared to its nieghbor (we had 2 in our parkstrip) oh well, it was just a tree and not a car or a kid.:sad2:

He drove forward into the tree :scared1: I can backing up into a tree, but how does he not see the tree in his windshield?:confused3

"Bubble wrap and huge ziplocks" REALLY?????

What kind of crazy stuff are you into? There are so many possibilities of odd things popping into my head :lmao:

I remember Angie saying it was a British thing to say lovely, but I always us it. Now, we are always discouraged from using the word nice. If we don't use the word, what is it for?

The business writing course I took last summer, also said to avoid the word nice because its been over-used and therefore lacking in descriptiveness. If everybody starts using lovely, in twenty years, it'll be overused and they'll have to pick something else.;)

Okay break time is over, and I'm all caught up :cool1: Now I have to get back to work. We had an evacuation drill this morning, so I did end up spending 10 minutes standing outside enjoying the sunshine :cool2: it's supposed to be raining again by the time I'm off work :sad2:

'Have a Nice Day' is definitely a US thing. I think we would say 'Have a Lovely Day!!!:rotfl2: Or, 'Have a Great Day'! But, our store workers etc don't use these terms like yours do. You would notice that here. Up here in the North we are more friendly bur down South they can be a bit frosty.:rolleyes1

I'll have to remember that while I'm visiting you on the way to Scotland :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You'll have to clean for me and invite all 8 grandkids!

And while I'm on an architectural kick, and promoting my city for the Olympics, I bring you the Marquette Building, and a great surprise, built in 1895:

I love Chicago architecture! Chicago is my favorite "BIG" city!

I will do, and they I will go out and leave you babysitting!!! Seeing as you like children of course!!!:lmao:

Well, here's hoping my slowly dying computer will cooperate tonight. I couldn't get on here yesterday because everything I clicked on, my computer just sat still. It's been slowly dying, bit by bit for a while, but maybe it's finally reached it's limit. I got a postcard in the mail the other day for a Dell laptop (can't remember what kind) for only $568 ($300 off!) and I can pick from a bunch of colors, so of course I'll choose pink! Or maybe purple, not sure yet. It's good until September 18, so I hope to order it in a couple weeks. :yay:

I can imagine that you guys must be pretty PO'd

I guess I'm in a funny place in my mind, because frankly it's not that bad. I'm sad the tree is having to be cut down, but it's just a tree and our neighbor is being SOOOOOOO good about taking care of it. The tree is already to a stump and it will be ground out by end of day and maybe even have the replacement put it. I guess it could be a thing to be mad about, but I think the stuff that has gone on with our rental has made me more mad, since those actions were taken on purpose and this guy was just dumb when he hit the tree.(stupid when he continued to drive away and split it in 2)

I just got a letter from Wilson's school and looks like we are being called on for back to school night on the wedding day, so best that I've decided already to make it for the weekend only, otherwise I'd have a bad parent wrap on my head for missing that school event.

No I remember saying it. It was before the cruise and I was trying to figure out how to pack some wine. It was before the cruise. I just can't believe I got tagged for that.

you were hoping for a rasual?;)

We were Norty :lmao: I'm laughing so hard picturing you running after Nan on the Magic :lmao: :lmao:

she is running after you, I ducked in the hallway cut out and pretended to be inconspicous (sp) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
