It is 95 degrees in Anaheim today. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

95 degrees in DC today and tomorrow too. Hanna is coming our way for Friday.

Daniel has been living in the Comfort Inn. His apartment is still not done. I guess it could be worse. They make his bed, clean his bathroom and feed him breakfast everyday.

We are hoping the apartment will be ready by the weekend. If so, I get to go to Blacksburg and help him move in!! I miss him a lot.

I was scanning and found this. This is strange. There should be a dozen stories like this but only this one comes up. Why didn't anyone tell me?

Are you in the papers lots of times? :confused3
Then, you are more famous than I thought! :thumbsup2

Jan :goodvibes

Hey Lisa! How've you been? What have you been up to? I'm sure you're missing Daniel already.

Yes, I do miss Daniel. How is Tyler....how is 1st grade?

Is anyone going to watch Sarah Palin tonight?

No way would I watch Sarah Palin. ;)

1st grade. Well, Tyler likes it and likes his teacher, but it's not going well so far. He still has issues with getting physically aggressive with the kids. BUT.....today is only day 2, so I'm cautiously optimistic. The way his teacher worded it today was, "I'm not ready to pull my hair out, but it is an issue" when referring to his aggression. However, that's an IMPROVEMENT for him. I jokingly told her, "Just imagine what he was like before meds!" No, he was nowhere near when I said this of course. I explained to her that before, when he got to the point of being physical, he was like a runaway freight train, unstoppable. So this is a major improvement. :thumbsup2

Oh, Jan, I'm too lazy and tired to switch to my email, so I'm answering your question here. Yes, Tyler would like to do that. I talked to him about it in the car on the way to his dad's and he said, "Well, yeah, I think I would like that." :thumbsup2 I assured him I'd help him as much as he needs.

 Thanks Jan!

Lisa, did your mom move in with your brother? How's Frank?

Ok, ok, I'm watching a bit. At least I don't hear people in the audience yelling, "Iron my shirt" like they did at one of Hillary's speeches! :rotfl2: I LOVED that and was laughing a whole day about it! :lmao:

Reading this book I'm reading makes me want to drive up to Tyler's school tomorrow on my lunch hour and give him a hug. He'll just be going outside for recess after lunch when I'd get there. :thumbsup2

OK, I have to get to sleep. Alarm goes off in less than 7 hours. Goodnight all!

Ok... I'm not trying to offend anyone or get political...

But if you close your eyes... doesn't Sarah Palin sound like the Barbie from Toy Story???

I'm waiting for her to wave and say

Buh - Bye... Buh - Bye... :wave2: :wave2:

Well my family got more bad new today. They don't think my step-dad will be able to walk anymore. He had Parkinson's. It is really sad and he is upset. My mom was going to cancel their cruise but he said he wanted to go as this may be his last chance. My mom is beginning to freak out that I am not going with them and begging me to go but I don't have the $$$. It is really sad but I am redoing their excursions but don't think he'll be able to get off at Grand Caymen. This was supposed to be a fun vacation but my mom will be stressed and that will stree my sister and that will make my step-dad feel bad. He thinks he can walk and won't admit he can't and tries and them falls. I wish I could go so I could tell them what to do and where to go and keep the peace.

Sorry for the vent!

I forgot to say I hope everyone else is doing well.

Holly- Things will calm down with Tyler as the newness wears off. September is when my disability is at its worst too!

Deb- I hope your legs are feeling better.

I've never heard that before. Maybe the rate went up because it is a newer car :confused3

The $900 is what it would have been for the newer car (without the accident). With my old car(2005 Accord) it was $750!

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Oh well we never heard about kids running about as we are deaf - we are stone asleep:rotfl: :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am on page 185. Lots to read and too much life in Indianapolis to let me do it. Ratz, you guys are more fun.

A friend sent me a link to a You Tube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfevfJNDuIg&eurl=http://www.eagles.org/aef
about an eagle:

"Added: April 24, 2008
Named in honor of the lost space shuttle crew, "Challenger" has performed free-flights during the USA's National Anthem at hundrews of events coast to coast—raising substantial public awareness for the Bald Eagle protection cause. He is the first Bald Eagle in American history trained to free-fly during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. He has helped educate millions of people about the need to protect the USA's National Bird."

He is shown flying several places, with Roy Disney, Presidents Clinton and Bush, Dolly Parton, and probably other famous people you may recognize but I do not. Great song has been written about him which honors those who died.

Jan

This is very cool, Jan! Thanks!

I just called Ian, they should be here by now, but couldn't reach them. It is 95 degrees in Anaheim today.

I've already packed my sweat bands! :scared:

Thanks Cheri, that really helps! I guess I really am just worried about a repeat of last year. You made good points and I appreciate the input. I'm actually going to share your words with his dad too to help ease his mind as well (but of course, not the mention of his dad).

Glad it helped! You're welcome!:goodvibes

I would say you were right except she goes to bed at 7:30 and wakes up at 7:00 and since she started school she has been sleeping about 2 hours during the day and that doesn't count what she is doing at school :lmao: :lmao:

It wasn't unusual for first graders to fall asleep at school at the beginning of the year. Heck, I almost fell asleep at the beginning of the year! It was so hot, and it takes a lot of energy to be attentive for 6 hrs. when you're not used to it!

I guess that works too. I've just never heard of a teacher working that hard :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: just kidding Cheri!

 SURE you are!

hi guys! How is everyone?:) :) :)

How many peole are heading to CA this weekend?

:cheer2: :yay: Hi Lisa!!! Jackie and I are driving over on Friday and coming back Tues. Wish you could be there! Say "hi" to Daniel!

 to you, Jill!

He wasn't old enough last year. He's been patiently waiting and keeps asking me now and then, so I'll look it up this week if I remember. Just like everything he decides he wants to try, he really only wants to do it because of the uniform. That's honestly how he picks what he wants to try. When he decided he didn't like hockey after all, he still wanted to keep the uniform and all the gear. ;) Yup, the kid is weird.

But what a great Mommy to let him try everything! :thumbsup2

Chief Okemos Council looks like it is the one for your area.

Mean mom strikes again. Tyler just yelled out, "Mom, I can't sleep" and I yelled back, "Too bad, do it anyway!" :rotfl2:

My Dad used to tell us to lie quietly and rest because that was good for growing bodies just like sleep was.
Sneaky Dad! :tiptoe:

Greetings from Disneyland.

This is just a quickie, because it's 9:00 PM and with the time change I'm about to pass out (remember I usually go to bed around 9:30 PM back home).

The travel went very smoothly.

We got to the HoJo (which is great value for the money) at about 2:30 PM and were in Disneyland by 3:30 PM.

Sukie insisted we sit in separate seats on the Matterhorn Bobsleds because we aren't married yet.

We ended up not eating at the Blue Bayou. The only vegetarian dish they had was a grilled portobello mushroom and Sukie doesn't do funghi.

I apologize for not saying more or commenting. So many of you are going through so much, please accept our best wishes and hope for bright outcomes.

OK, and now, to bed, before I pass out.
