Thanks - I think I saw foam pirate chest kits at Michael's. With coupons I could probably get them cheap.

A friend of mine did some lovely things with chests made of paper-machette (?sp :confused3 ) and another friend got a chest made of wood at the end of Bible School at her church. They might have several options, ask a clerk!

Wow, one of my neighbors, one I don't see often, just rang my doorbell and asked what's Tyler's favorite superhero. I told her he hasn't yet become interested in superheros because he's stuck on firefighters! She just said, "Oh, OK....that's good info to know." :confused3 She asked me what grade he's going in to and I told her first. She was surprised and told he she thought he'd be going into 2nd or 3rd because he's tall! I don't think he's any taller than kids his age, but we do hear that a lot. Strange conversation though. And then she left. :confused3

:cool1: Ohhhhh A SURPRISE!! for Tyler!

Let us know what happens!! ::yes::

Jan :thumbsup2

Ok... I just realized if Gustav comes close, we may lose power and then we're all going to have to sit around and look at each other... too much family togetherness.....

We just picked up this board game and enjoy it quite a bit after only 3 plays:

You can always play a game of good family murder when the power goes out!

While we were doing our grocery shopping tonight, I brought up the subject of wedding songs.

Apparently, Sukie knew that there were such things as wedding songs, I did not (what can I say, I've lead a very sheltered existence).

We discussed it an have chosen our wedding song.

I had a lot of trouble finding a good version of it on line, so I have created my own video for it and have done my very first YouTube upload.

And so, without further ado, I now bring you, our wedding song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8Otwq-bVHI

What sort of dance will you do to that? A waltz won't work and I think a cha-cha would be choppy. Have you a choreographed routine including a tap segment? :confused3

Jan

How about a link on page one?

Our submarine IS in it at 1:17 in Miraflores Locks.
Look behind the white standing-up pole on the bow of the ship and right behind that is the sub! So at least some of the footage is US!!

At .40 into the video it shows the blue container ship that was in front of us at Gatun Locks.

The speed version of the Gatun Locks at the end is not us because we did not have a white container ship in the north channel. The blue container ship was in front of us and the sub in the north channel, so that is 2005 footage.

No... Ken left for Norma... Midge wasn't part of the deal... but Madge was...

(and for everyone I just confused... My parents names ARE Barbara and Kenneth... My step mother is Norma and Madge ended up being my step grandmother who took off with all the family money... or so we think, but I'm still convinced it's under the 9th green at White Beeches Country club...:rotfl: )

If she took off with the money, what happened to the money and what happened to her?

Where is White Beeches Country Club and when will you start digging?

Jan :confused3

HERE IS THE CHAIN OF THAT CONVERSATION:

I HAVE SPOKEN

:cool1: :cool1:

and I have listened ::yes:: that means I'm in for Alaska:thumbsup2

can't promise a repo, unless it went to TOKYO in 2010, July :rolleyes1

I'd quit my job and go... keep Marilyn out of trouble...

& Gaylean... we'd have to send you with the St. Bernard and the cask of rum... Nan's just going to bring multiple mugs with her...

If Marilyn is paying I could help keep her out of trouble :rotfl2:

.....What might I be paying for? .....

My fare on the ship so I can help Michelle keep you out of trouble. :thumbsup2

:confused3 NO?

Jan

one more before I go, shouldn't someone ( :rolleyes1 Jackie) start a watch thread for October release dates??? and should someone ( :rolleyes1 Jackie) post that link for us here. man I'm needy huh?

Or she could post the dates here and we don't have another thread to follow that has a lot of strangers in it. :scared:

Or, she could just PM each of us

She is sweet like that, :cutie: yup she is!

Jan :thumbsup2

It's not the most danceable song in the world.

Well, it's your song. :thumbsup2 You picked it, we did not assign it to you.

We all assumed you KNEW you would be asked to DANCE :cool1: to YOUR song.

TAMMY!!!

So good to hear from you. I was just asking about you last week.

Sorry about the depression, but not surprising. Just remember we're here for you

Glad to see that you're considering putting up w/ us again in 2010 --- I really hope we can do a reprise of this cruise.

Deborah - glad you're home safe & that you had a good time.

I am also interested in what you think of Brideshead Revisited. I loved the miniseries (mid 80's I think).

The topic at next week's WW meeting (which I will miss because I'll be in California) is carrot abuse.

(Actually, it's on abusing zero point foods)

.

I've accidentally abused carrots once and well to put it delicately - things changed colors :scared1: . (I mindlessly ate 2 lbs baby carrots during an 8 hour shift )

Thanks - I'm going tomorrow to check out the selection - plus I have 2 50% off coupons so Darrell is going with me :thumbsup2

ok - my carrot confession scared everyone off.

No luck sofa shopping today. Tomorrow we're going to Rooms To Go to see what they have. Anyone ever bought anything from there? We need something in a neutral pattern, durable fabric that will hide cat stains. (Think living with toddler's) so we're not looking for expensive furniture - I don't want to put plastic slipcovers over everything like my grandparents had.

Well, that is the plan. I think we might have quite a few interested from the WB repo. I hope so. I can't think of a better group.

We saw Tropic Thunder today. We both enjoyed it - though agree that Pineapple Express was funnier.

If I haven't already mentioned stay away from the movie Mirrors - we saw that last weekend and found it too long and bad ending. Wait for DVD.

Tomorrow we might see Death Race or Hamlet 2. Anyone see either of these?
