Good Morning Holly! Glad you've got a nice day too! It's a long weekend here, Civic Holiday tomorrow. Not that it makes much difference to me this year as I'm off work right now anyway!

Kathe
Well, do still enjoy the rest of your long weekend anyway. :goodvibes

Lunch is about done cooking, so I'm off to eat with Tyler and then head out to Wicked shortly after. He's a bit grumpy today, had to have a time out this morning for telling me "no" when I asked him to get dressed, BUT....usually his 6 minute time out turns into 1/2 hour because he usually calls me names and throws things and tries to get up and run around, and each time he does something he's not supposed to, time out starts all over again. THIS time, I did NOT have to reset timer one single time! I pointed that out to him afterwards and he was pretty proud of himself. BUT still grumpy and on the verge of being disrespectful, but I suspect that has more to do with our very late night last night. The bouts of grumpiness only last a short time and he apologizes afterwards. Very strange how polite he's being. ;)

OK.....later!

Have a great day Holly, let us know how much you enjoy Wicked! I'm heading out to the deck shortly with an iced tea, now that I finally have some time to relax I'm going to start reading my next book,"The Pillars of the Earth". I finally finished the book I was reading on our cruise just the other day

Oh, I already know I'll love it! Saw it last year and am SO excited because I remember how great it is! But this is Tyler's first time. We talked to his kindergarten teacher from last year today at church and he told her we're going to see it today, and she's so excited for him! She told him to listen for the song Defying Gravity because she says that's her favorite part and she told him he'll love that part too. :goodvibes She's so cute!

OK, I guess we have to find something to do for 1/2 hour before we leave.

Marilyn, I would love to go on a DCL Med cruise in 2010. I guess the question on weather would depend on just how bad the weather might be  But, like Holly and Deborah, I'm not sure my budget would allow this. Will have to wait and see.

Kathe

I was really just wondering how far everybody would go as there is a bit of talk here about a reunion cruise in 2010 and waiting for the itineraries to come out. Personally I hope it isn't the Med/Northern Europe, but who knows yet?

Have a good afternoon Holly. I guess any 5 year old boy can be grumpy but it seems like he is getting better all the time. I can be grumpy too!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

Kathe

DH read this on the cruise (for the second time!)

Actually yes! I had not even thought of it. He will turn 60 on September 16, smack in the middle of our cruise.
Ok... Midnight between the 15th & the 16th... we celebrate... what do you think???

I see on a later post that you were lying about his age... I'll turn 47 on 9/15.

Well I thought that would be the case with a lot of US folk to be honest, but looking at the thread it seems lots would make the trip. I think it is cheaper for you to buy return fares from the US than for us to buy them from the UK.

To do the Transatlantic Repo you need a single fare one way air fare and these are expensive. When I was looking for our trip next year, a single was much much more than the return fare!!!:confused3 :sad2:

Many of us bought R/T and dropped the return. But we found the one way tickets to be cheaper on some flights and not on others.

The first week of June is great (so of course, that cruise sold out instantly) everyone who took the later cruises said it was like being on the sun in most places. In Villefranche the tour director told us that we were lucky to be there the 1st week of June because in a few weeks it would HOT!!!

So, would you all fly over for a DCL Med cruise in 2010? Would you book it if it was for the Baltic area, Northern Europe, which would not necessarily have good weather?

Reading a thread on the main cruise forum it looks like many would love this option.

I'd go!!! I think they would do the Med again... it was popular and they said they didn't even really advertise to the European market...

Good Morning

Holly, sound you had a great times at fair with Tyler.

Kathe - I will put the photo of you today

Ian - I don't have any photo of you and can you send me one of you and suski? and I would like to put it in nero today

what a miserable and guess what I got up at 10.30 am, must be heavy sleeping :scared1:

::yes:: we are hoping about it and not build up hope *** we don't know yet until this Nov/Dec.

Another question we would love to join with you all in 2010 but we have to remember that we cannot get our kids out of school as we might book for end of June or July or August, we know it will be more expensive:sad2:

We wait and see .........

Scottishwee35

I think we should pick a time when all the kids would be out so there wouldn't be any conflicts with that...

Sorry I missed you Michelle :upsidedow What are you up to this weekend? Weather here is beautiful today. Warm and sunny.
Kathe

Hi Kathe!!!

Running around today... my friend called at midnight and told me I could have her cabin today if I wanted (she was supposed to stay until tomorrow but changed her plans...) So I'm trying to pack for the lake...

AWWWWW... Come ON people!!!

We just went through 15 nights of almost heat!!! (It didn't cool down until
Cabo...remember???) We're tough... BRING YOUR COOL TIES!!!

(oh crap... I guess I'll have to start sewing again....:rotfl2: )

After church we realized we were near The Museum of Transportation and since we have 6 hours before the baseball game (time changed as it is to be televised) we decided to stop.

On our way to the door to decide if we wanted to pay to go in (nope) we passed a
:yay:PANAMA CANAL MULE !!::yes::
An original, General Electric 1914 mule which worked at Pedro Miguel locks. It was donated to this museum in 1964.

We took pictures. I even let Tom take my picture in front of it--holding the cable loop. (Compared to a P.C. Mule, I don't feel like a member of the pod!)

WOW!!! That's closer than ANY of us got to one!!! You have to post the picture later!!! :goodvibes

The Pedro Miguel MULE doesn't make my butt look fat!

Jan. :rotfl2:

What fat butt???

Planky's the only one with a fat butt!!! :thumbsup2

Don't tell him I said that... ;)

Here Jan... I posted this on DCL pic of the day too (save you some work...:goodvibes )

Hi friends.......I need to say thank you to Jackie, Jan, Lisa, Holly, Marilyn and Cheri......you truely are such great friends. I got your PM notes and they were very welcome. I just wasn't ready to respond yet.

It's a new month, whew! I made it through the one year anniversary of mom's passing and my uncle is out of ICU. It was rough there for a bit, but now it's over.

Another issue that I'm dealing with is increased weight which is also making my legs worse. Not good. So I started another diet food delivery service this week. I'm using birstromd instead of diettogo.....better food, same prices. I need to get my weight under control and my legs better.

My biggest dilemma has been the expense of keeping Ray at the private care facility down the road. He loves it there and it's convenient for us to remain a part of his life and to watch over his medical care. One year ago when this decision was made it was only going to cost me an additional couple of hundred out of my pocket and it was worth it. One year later after increased prices, moving Ray into a private room, prescription expenses, doctors appointments and medical testing expenses that his insurance does not cover, his additional expenses at Mrs. Bush's, it all totals to over $1500 each month. It's much more than I'm comfortable with to add to my budget every month. Ray has brain injuries from when he fell down the stairs four years ago. His illness does not do very well with change. My dilemma is how do I keep the promise that I made to my mom to always take care of him, I have a POA for him from her, and keep him happy and not flipping out of control and still not blow off mine and John's dreams. This additional expense is going to affect our plans to build and retire in Delaware in three years. And then the scary question of what to do with Ray in three years when we retire and want to move, but he's still alive and with us. Other than his brain injury, he's as healthy as an ox. His vitals read better than mine.

The other change in my life is that there's no one here anymore.....Sandi and mom are no longer in town. Me and John are on our own and we realized how much the grandkids did for us and helped us out. They were at our house all the time.

So life really has changed this past year and not for the best but now it's time to really take control and turn it around as best as I can. Some of it though, I still don't know what I'm going to do about yet.

I'm 50+ pages behind but I will read it all and catch up soon. I miss reading about all of your lives. Any comments or suggestions are always welcome if anybody has a clue how to deal with my Ray dilemma.

Now that it's Aug 1st I can say, next month I'll be in Mickey's world and everything will be alright again. That's why we love being with the mouse, it's always perfect and magical and fun.

SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK ::yes::

Will all these changes result in an earlier move to Delaware? That could mean one move for Ray to a new place near your new place and hopefully NICE but not so expensive?

Jan

Below in blue is an email I just got from Kaylee. I just read this myself, so I have nothing more to input. I know the power of prayer works, so we have a heavy task at hand for our dear friend.

So, I(Kaylee) am writing to you from my bed after spending the entire day in ER yesterday.....not the greatest email, I know but I need all good energy I can get. So I lost my eyesight in my L eye on Sat am (was kind of going away on F, but I ignored it). We went to an eye doc yesterday and the look on his face said it all, so we went straight to an ER where my friend had already spoken to the opthamologist on call. Well, after 7 hours there I let after a 1gm IV of prednisone and the diagnosis of MS. I haven't accepted that diagnosis yet and I have lots of docs appts starting at 7am on Monday. So far my vision is no better and it is the worst feeling in the world. Thankfully my mom is being great....which is helpful to Scott since he is having a hard time with this all...... I won't be getting on the boards anytime soon....but if you want to post something Nan asking for pixie dust and prayers that would be ok with me.....that list is great for helping people get better.

I'll be in touch with her and will keep you all posted on whatever the news is.

Nan

Oh... Nan...

Prayers all around :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Tell her we're all there for her!!!!

Let us know what you hear.

Nan, thanks for posting. How shocking and frightening for Kaylee and her family. We will both be praying - we do believe in the power of prayer!!

Please send her and the family our love and thoughts.

I have to say I'm in shock myself right now, feeling helpless for my dear friend.:sad1:

I'll be sending some flowers later this week let me know if anyone wants to join in with me on them.
