Late night drive by....

We are beat... Had a good couple of days the full story to come when I'm home on the couch.

Short story, Wilson finished 10th That's 10th in the Nationals (so 10th in the country) (well you get the point) It was a drama filled race as there where lots of errors with the flags and Willie missed his checkered flag and had to come off of pit row to lap it again and take the checkered.

He drove well, the girl that usually takes 1st in his region came in 5th. And if you recall he usually places 5th in the region, so it really makes sense that he placed at 10th for the nationals with her at 5th.

We have uncovered some issues lack of confidence in over taking people on corners and fear of sliding out and also the "we don't use our brakes rule" is now in place, that and always do an extra lap for your mama and when they ask you why you tell them about the time when you were racing kid karts at the Grand Nationals....

This weeks events will be the stories that Wilson tells his kids and grandkids one day so for that I'm happy it all turned out well...

Here is the link of the local news cast for the event.

Tomorrow we are headed to Hearst Castle for a family day of fun. Tonight we enjoyed a side trip to Solvang (we missed it the other day, due to a fire at our hotel) hey we made the news twice in one day in Santa Maria and these people don't really even know me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Michelle did you call ahead to warn (rat me out) them????

That sounds really cool. I wonder if they'll send one here. Ethan really needs a whip...or maybe I need one for him :scared:

:lmao:

That's what I'm wondering....and anyone else who begs me :worship:

Please come on our cruise Gaylean, and bring Tink and Bubba.:) :rolleyes1

Hi Marilyn, and anyone else who cares. I'm checking in. Today I went to my mommies house and we had lunch at a really good mexican restaurant and now I have heart burn. When we got home, Brooke informed me that she had gum in her arm pit so I spent awhile trying to get that out. The entire time I was just thanking God that it wasn't in her hair Now I'm trying to decide what to do for dinner because Jon was going to BBQ and he is going to work late today. My troubles are small today but who knows what tomorrow brings. I did realize today that there are only 25 more days of summer :sad1:

Gum in her armpit???!!! sorry about the heartburn - I suffer too after certain foods or a longer spell of over eating or eating too many desserts!!!

Today's Saga ...

Sukie and I went this evening to do our normal weekly grocery shopping. We drove up to Evanston (this figures in later in the story).

In the supermarket, a guy come hurtling after us with his cart and stops Sukie. "You were in that documentary, weren't you? I really enjoyed you!" Sukie murmurs thanks, and we walk away.

I have to admit that sometimes, Sukie reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet if you please).

On the drive back, Sukie says that he prefers shopping in Evanston, because you meet such a nicer class of people. Then he warns me to mind a pothole, which I need to say is on the opposite side of the street.

Usually I hold my tongue but this time I said, "Yes Hyacinth."

He shot me a rather unpleasant look.

You too are just too funny. :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao:Thanks for the well needed giggle I can always count on you guys!
Kathe

Woohoo Kathe, you're back!!:yay:

Holly, I was wondering that too   Gaylean :confused3
Of course, with kids you never know. I still remember years ago when my husband called me at work to say he was taking my son to emergency:eek: Seems he had told our son (two at the time) that he couldn't leave the table till his food was all gone. So, when his dad wasn't looking, my son stuck all his little cut up pieces of meat up his nose! Of course his sister just watched with amusement and let him

Kathe

:rotfl: That's a good one!!

One of our sons was brought home from junior school once because he had a small marble up his nose!! He didn't know how it got there!!!:lmao: :lmao: We had to go to hospital.

I remember that my son had put cotton wools up his nose and it goes further up and leave stink (strong smell) and he had to go to hospital for removed it. Club thought something to do with his BUM! I told them NO it was his nose.

Then Olivia had put my tiny hearing aid battery down her ear (lucky another side) as she have an implant cochlear in another ear!! It started leaked and I don't know what it was as she said Keith punched her so I decided to take her to doctor. Doctor horrifed and took it out:sad2: After that she never doing it again!!

Yes, Virgin to Orlando and back on the QM2. On long holiday of 5 & 1/2 weeks. The transatlantic voyage on the QM2 is 6 nights.

:lmao: about Keith!!! Our daughter did that too and it was the smell we noticed first.

They all seem to do something don't they!!

Our niece put a peanut in her ear and had to go to hospital to have it removed. She enjoyed the attention so much she did it again!!!

Flights for next year seem very expensive whatever the airline.:sad2: That is one reason we are going for longer and making the most of it(and John is almost retired of course or we couldn't do that anyway)!!!

We have a guy who lives down the street who owns a landscape company. He got a RED Smart car convertable about the same time ian got his. It is so cute.

Well it was gone for a while and it showed back up a few days ago. It is now a PIECE OF ART!! He had it painted with a lawn and lawn mower....I know it sounds strange...but it is just beautiful!!

Then, today, I saw another painted one today....it was FLOWER POWER like from the 60's, so very cute!!

I will take a picture soon and post it here...just don't want him to see me taking a picture of his car!!

Smart Car owners seem to be very attached to their cars. Not sure why, but we love Mrs. Fezziwig and she is not the first car we've had.

Mrs. Fezziwig is what Smart Car owners typically call a bumblebee, yellow with a black strip.

Maybe I should start selling advertising space on her.

Awesome! Give Wilson a Huge Congratulations! from us!

Congratulations Angie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: (and to Dennis too....isn't he done as well?!)

Carol & Monica:  to you both during this time.

Have a great rest of the week....we are out of here for Great Wolf Lodge!!!:yay: Ken....I'll let you know what we think of it.

Have fun! I'm thinking of taking Tyler the last week of August to the one we have here for a day or 2. The summer child care program at school is closed the last week before school starts, so I'm taking off that Mon, Tues and Wed the end of Aug. I could use my neighbor across the street for back up because she runs a day care out of her home, but I'd rather spend the time with Tyler and have a last summer fling before school starts. :goodvibes

We stayed a couple of nights at the one here in Ohio when it was the Great Bear Lodge. it. It was a great time. Would like to go back but Disney and cruising just seem to get in the way. :rotfl:

There's always somebody selling candy bars, or catalog stuff, but mostly kids get their parents to do it at work, so not too many kids come door to door. I'm a sucker for the girl guides and boy scouts if they come around in their uniforms.

MADD drives me crazy - I've donated to them a couple times right after I had Shaelyn, and then they call all the time, so I've finally told them to stop calling. There was also issues with that group having very high admin costs, so very little raised actually went were donors thought it would.

Gaylean - are you excited? I quoted you 3 times already today! ;) ;)
(feel free to send me a mental smack for attitude!)

We get a few kids selling at our door. Mostly the neighbors. The Girl and Boy Scouts usually set up tables outside of WalMart around here. I know that when I worked someone was always bringing something in that their kids were selling. Wish we could have done that when we were younger. Would have been a lot easier than going door to door.

That sounds great - I could use some goodies right now! Well, actually my tastebuds want them, but my butt doesn't need them.

Completely Off-topic - the girls watch me do WiiFit and they now recognize the CarolWii when she's standing there doing stepping or throwing me a hula-hoop!:lmao:

Shannon, Love to see your and Ken's Miis on WiiFit. It gives it a little personalization. We got one from a Scott when yours came in and can't figure out who it is. It looks a little like Sukie.:confused3

Marilyn, you need to set your Mii's up to travel so that we can see them on our Wiis. If you need help let me know and I will PM you on how it is done.

Just a quickie folks (I'm at work).

The results are in for the Energizer hall of Fame.

The following is from Shalisa:

Dear Supporters:

I wanted to let you know that Ron Bachmann, a really amazing individual, has won the Energizer Bunny Award for 2008.

I want to thank all of you for your incredible support and dedication to making this nomination possible. I know that through this campaign many people were either introduced or reconnected to Merit in ways that I know will benefit our organization serving thousands of deserving students in Chicagoland. What the Energizer Corporation may not know is that we have an entire field of Energizer Bunnies right here at Merit!

Thank you again for your amazing efforts!

Best,

Shalisa Kline Ugaz

Joy Faith Knapp Music Center

Sorry to hear she didn't win but she has a great attitude and that is what makes her a great teacher. We all tried our best. Bet the other guy didn't win by much. :)

Carol, we are sending good vibes in your direction. We hope you are ok.

Thanks Ian. The test results are all in and I now have an appointment Wednesday with a Urologist. Seems my right kidney isn't functioning properly. They had some long medical term for it but I couldn't tell you what it was. You couldn't prove it by me that it wasn't functioning properly. It seems to be doing just fine to me. Maybe the Urologist will find nothing. :confused3

Here is to Steph and Shannon and anyone else who likes it:

I kissed a girl and I liked it.
The taste of her cherry chapstick.
I kissed a girl just to try it.
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it.
It felt so wrong, it felt so right.
Don't mean I'm in love tonight.
I kissed a girl and I liked it.
I liked it.

I wish everyone could hear the beat because it is awesome!

Hey guys, what's the name of this song? Don't think I have heard it.

Love "Keeping Up Appearances" and your stories.

We always have better than average gas prices here. (lower gas taxes). Right here at my house it is $3.69 and in Blackburg today it was $3.49!:goodvibes (I can not believe that I think those are great prices!!)

Our prices around here are usually below national and depending where in town you are you find it for $3.69 and $3.49.

We had originally wanted a convertible (Cabriolet) but instead we have our little orphan.

And a lovely little orphan she is. It is always good to give an orphan a home.

Way to go Wilson! Such great memories. :cool1:  :dance3:

If you could send some prayers and pixie dust to my step-daughters it would be greatly appreciated. We got a call last night from the youngest that their mother has passed away. She has been very ill for some time and I am sure is in a better place now. Her father and I will probably be making the trip to California soon. Will have to see if I can change my appointment.
