Yeah Michelle, my dream dinner guest...lactose intolerant vegetarian.:rotfl2:

Hi - throwing my 2 cents in!:lmao:
There's lots of lactose free options out there - do a veggie spaghetti! :thumbsup2 As long as there's no cheese in the sauce, you can just add the cheese afterwards for those who want to.

My favourite lactose free food is called "wacky cake" - its the easiest, moistest chocolate cake recipe ever ::yes:: . I found the recipe as a kid and started making it long before I knew anybody that was lactose intolerant. You can mix it right in the pan (:woohoo: no dishes), and then into the oven. If anybody's interested I'll find the recipe tonight and post it.

I think Gydell should be back from Cabo now, and Connie was back from her cruise last Thursday. They must be busy, but I'm looking forward to hearing about their trips.
ME TOO! Details and pictures! :yay:

Good morning everybody!
I came into work early for a trial, and of course it still hasn't started yet, and I've been here for 3 hours already:eek: only 9 or so hours to go. Oh well, its a legitimate excuse to check out disboards. :lmao:
And I had to take a cab in this morning because my van's in getting the wipers fixed - I didn't think of it yesterday:confused3 , but its getting fixed at the dealers, so I should have asked them for a demo car to drive last night

I painted the front landing and down the stairs a nice soft sagey green last night - poor Ken, its much greener than he thought it would be. He called it "dis-green" when it was still wet, but it dried much more subdued. This little project started as just re-doing the floor, but then we added in painting the bottom off of the stairs, and now that's done and the top half and trim all look crappy, so next week I'll start painting those, and then we'll finally lay the flooring down. Today Ken's going to order the new kitchen cabinets :cool1: :cool1: So in a couple weeks, we'll be demolishing the old stuff.
Now I should get back to work. Hopefully, I can take a break later in the day and check in again. This place is such a nice sanity break!:hippie:

Just bought annual passes. Rumour has it that prices will rise on all tickets on August 3rd and we would have been buying them in December anyway.

With present plans the passes cover us for 6 weeks or so over the year!!

Marilyn, did you get your AP's through DVC? Hope so, they can save you a lot of money.

Glad to hear that everyone in California is doing fine. had a friend who moved to San Jose from here tell me he would much rather deal with their earthquakes than our tornados.

Been dealing with some medical issues so haven't been on for a few days. Every time i think that I am going to stay caught up something comes up and I am 20 pages behind. I am trying though.

Carol

Tyler would probably like to help with it - you put the dry ingredients into the pan, mix them together, and make 3 holes. Put oil in one, vanilla in one, and vinegar in the last hole, then pour a cup of water on top and mix it all together. It sounds weird but tastes great. For kids its neat, because the vinegar starts to bubble when it gets added. My kids love pouring stuff in when I cook - they like adding the stuff more than the mixing.
Anyhow - I'll post it tonight.

Now I'd better get back to work!

Wow, that's a lot of work you're doing at home! It will look so nice when you're done though. :goodvibes

Oh wow, that sounds so cool! Yup, he'd love helping make that. :goodvibes

We were on the same trip Michelle. I remember everyone grumbling about their similar trips that day, but our guide and driver were very good. However Acapulco did nothing for me. I didn't hate it like Gaylean though. It felt seedy and run down - not the locals' fault, just the end of a great era I think. The vendors were a big pain, though of course their livelyhood is going too as tourists stay away. I felt it was sad.

Acapulco ---> poo

(Just my opinion)

You know... I think I'm more of an east coast kind of girl... East Coast of the US... that is... Give me the Vineyard anyday... and my lake of course...

Hey, guess what. This is the first week EVER that I've been on time to work every day that Tyler's with me! I'm always a bit late because it usually takes soooo long to wake him. But every day this week, he's hopped right out of bed when his alarm goes off, all smiles! And that's even after the whole day in the hot sun at the fair yesterday! AND he stayed up an hour later than usual last night! :yay: It's truly amazing!

WAY TO GO HOLLY!!!! (and Tyler, of course..) :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I bet Tyler is going to start to realize the changes too...

Don't forget to let the Dr. know all about it!!!

Oh I loved Acapulco... I think it all depended on what you did there...

We were among the did not like Acapulco crowd. We just did not like the "feel" of it. :confused3 Automatic weapon armed private security guards at the store fronts kind of made us uneasy and it just seemed very crowded and not clean. We did not see that at the other Mexican ports.

Absolutely. I'm assuming it must be related to the meds, and not just coincidence. I e-mailed the same info to his dad, that way it's easier for me to print all the info and take it to the Dr. appt. :thumbsup2

I thought it was interesting with all the VW bugs there... it was sort of "Where the Bugs went to die!!!"

I didn't pay attention this trip, but I remember when I was a kid and my mom would take me to Mexico every year a couple weeks before spring break, and all the taxis were VW bugs.

What's the name of the waiter in Palo from Croatia that everybody loves? I'm finally putting captions on my cruise pictures so I can share them with family & friends and need to know his name. I know somebody will know. Thanks!

And Tammy, if you're out there reading, do you remember what your meal and dessert were? I took pictures of it but have no idea what it was! ;)

Nevermind on the waiter, it's Sasha. I asked my fellow DISer co-worker. I knew she'd know. :thumbsup2

You are my most promising student. "Grasshopper, take the pebble from my hand."

Woody

I had to look this reference up too. We never watched that program and the Google search did not yield enough references for me to figure out the significance of the statement except that the grandfather said it to the child he was training. Context was missing. Want to share more insight?

Jan :confused3
