Marilyn this my check in for the day I'm not sure about DL. I didn't even see it on the news but maybe Kelly has a local station.

DL is testing for safety. Yea, my cell is down. My dis friend from San Diego said they felt it hard down there too. I think this may be bigger than 5.8 I wouldn't be surprised if it was 6.2. Thank God it was a short one. It's the long ones that do the most damage. This was a rolling earthquake, the jolts do real damage.

How many of us were in the '71 quake? Now that was a quake.

On the internet. CBS have 2 helicopters up looking around, but no damage. They are just telling you all to get your earthquake kit together and not jam up the phone system!!

How is that possible when I've gotten ten calls since it happened? My cell seems to be down but the house is fine. Which is strange because we have been having problems with the house phone going out for a month now.

You guys are ok. Bubba just called me to let me know he had gotten ahold of you. I felt it here in SB. Any reports of damage yet? I saw you have had a few good size aftershocks as well. My cell which is ATT was down right after but is now working ok.

A reporter just said that it seems the first thing that doesn't work are cell phones!!

I am fine but the kids are running around playing earthquake and jumping up and down. Brooke told Ethan that he caused the earthquake from jumping and to knock it off because we were all going to die.

We are OK and the kids are settling down now. I stopped watching the news so I could let the kids watch TV so they would settle. My cell is out too and the house phone is ringing off the hook, literally!

Glad you're all OK! Seems like it would be a bit exciting to be in one, but not if all your stuff gets broken. So I guess I'd only like to be in one if I were visiting, not if I lived there.

It's not even that hot here today. It seems like it is usually on the hotter side when we have a quake. I can see the cell going out first but it seems like they would be up by now. I'm not an expert though.
