Kaylee - that is so tragic - its amazing how far-reaching the effects of those types of tragedies are. I can't imagine having to explain anything like that to my girls. I read through the posts last night. After hearing that tale of loss, I had to go give my girls a kiss (they were already sleeping in bed), luckily they were sleeping deeply enough that I didn't wake them.

ALL the women in my family have gone white... I told my niece that before they put me in the ground... they are to DYE MY HAIR!!! To which she replied... WHAT COLOR!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Brown... with some highlights thank you very much... :)

Maybe because I will not go white, I think it looks so great.
Can you trust your niece to not dye it blue? :rotfl:

.....Or you could tackle them with pictures... but then again the guys in the white coats will come to pay you a visit... :scared: (Maybe my padded room can come with a verandah and room service...):rolleyes1

Oh yah, right...........:lmao:

Count on blank walls and no view, no ocean breeze and no sun.:confused3

I guess I will avoid that behavior so I can still access the ocean and view.

I talked to him about it before we even left school. I told him we don't need to talk about the morning events, but I reinforced just what you mentioned Jan, and told him that's exactly what we're looking for from him. He needs to be reminded what to expect so he'll know how to adapt his behavior. I told him the medicine won't do it by itself, but needs his help. I told him the medicine will just give him time to think before lashing out. :thumbsup2 I told him he should be very proud of his efforts in the afternoon because I sure was. Then when his dad called to say hi to him after karate, I told Tyler to make sure he tells his dad how great he did in the afternoon. Tyler didn't seem to care much, but I'll just keep reinforcing the good. I also e-mailed his dad too this morning, to tell him the benefits the afternoon teacher is starting to see and also the things I told Tyler and what is important for us to reinforce, etc.

Sounds great, (but it was Monica who asked, not me.)

We really didn't see the barbecue either as we had early coffee and pastries on deck, then a late breakfast in the buffet. We didn't need any barbie food.

I think I wandered past a few times, but didn't take much notice.

I'm OK for short outings with a group of kids, but certainly not a whole day at the fair. They need 2 schoolbuses for every weekly fieldtrip, so that's WAY TOO MANY kids for me to want to deal with. I'm amazed by the people who do that job.

When my boys were little, they took parent volunteers and divided the kids up into small groups with one adult per group of 4-6. I can do 4 with no trouble, my friend who had 4 kids could do 8 so my theory is that we can double our count of how many kids we can keep track of without too much trouble.

Hopefully they do that for Tyler's class.

Well, we did eat every chance they gave us. :sad2: We had the early coffee and pastries, breakfast, then a nap and barbie food. Then over to Cove Cafe for some yummy afternoon pasteries. We did not take photos of the barbque though.

Dawn in PV on the WB PC cruise

Hey... that was before that "other" big ugly cruise ship got there!!! ;)

Michelle's photo from later and her comment about her request to have the other ship moved for her photo op.

You know... I asked too, but they wouldn't budge... :rolleyes1 How Rude!!! :lmao:

Oh, I just ate sooooo much!!! They force it on us don't they!!:lmao: :lmao:

I must have had something mid afternoon though - probably ice cream, though might have popped to the buffet lunch late for some desserts. I could never just pick one dessert, usually had to have three. Well it was forced on me you know.

For those who asked about Deb, she's just having a hard time right now. It's the anniversary of when she lost her mom last year, and her favorite uncle (her mom's brother) was sick, but last I heard, he's improving. I PM'd her some more hugs the other day but haven't heard back. I think she's just trying to deal with all of that and taking some time to herself. I'm sure John's taking good care of her because he always does! :goodvibes

A quick check in.

Thanks Holly for the update on Deb. I fully understand what Deb is going through right now. I'm feeling the same. Tomorrow is the day, 1 year ago that I got the most awful call of my life. I will also send her a PM full of hugs too. One can never have to may hugs.

I knew you lost your mom last year Venetia, but I didn't realise she died the same day as Deb's mom. to you.

:dance3: We got the word last night that the buyer is ready to move forward!!! :yay: :woohoo: We sign the paperwork tomorrow and close on Aug 5! :thumbsup2 My last day of work will be THIS THURSDAY! Wow, 2 more days!:dance3:  :woohoo: Dennis is working his last day today!! :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay:

Actually she passed on Aug 1st. But last year that fell on Wed. and the first Wed of Aug here is our anual Fiesta Celebration. So the start of Fiesta will always be the reminder of that day.

Ian, when will you find out if Shalisa won?

I don't think she finds out until the end of August or the beginning of September. They take a LONG time to announce the results.

I'm pretty anxious to hear if she won.

Congratulations, Angie.

Just bought annual passes. Rumour has it that prices will rise on all tickets on August 3rd and we would have been buying them in December anyway.

With present plans the passes cover us for 6 weeks or so over the year!!
