Oh forgot tell you the house seem quieter without kids. Miss them already.

Scottishwee35
Awww, I'm sure you miss them, but try to enjoy your free time while you can! They'll be back before you know it.

Yes, I'm really happy with this doctor. Tyler's dad is still trying to be in denial, I think. He asked me the other day that he's concerned about this drug being addictive. I assure him it's not. He then told me he's going to do some research about it over the next couple of days, so I suspect when I see him on Saturday, he'll have a bunch of stuff printed out for me to take him and read. Like I said before, that man is going to give me gray hair.

About being pulled out of class, one teacher at school told me so many kids get pulled out for many different types of classes, the other kids actually envy those who get to leave class. :thumbsup2

This is totally true with my daughter. She is jealous of the kids that get to go to resource or speech. Go Figure!

I'm sure Ian there are just as many nice teacher back then as there are now, what had changed from my view is how the kids are mean. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't see this kind of stuff from my peers when I was young. It started for Molly in 2nd grade. For me it was junior high, maybe 6th grade. Also the bullies of today are tricky, lots of the mean girls can cut ya down with a mere look.

I think bullies have gotten sneakier over the years, but the old style bullying was recognized as bad, so they had to find other ways to do it. I don't think bullying will every disapper, it will continually change.

The play was great      I give it 5 dancing bananas :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wilson did really well, and didn't smile at us in the front row too much (ok he did) and he blew me a kiss too :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He did in my opinion upstage the lead little kid Winthrop just a little bit. I have the feeling we have just opened a wide door for Wilson to enjoy a new activity.

Molly had a blast and is flying very high on a sugar 11 year old rush....

I'm not even thinking that they will go to bed tonight. Glad our bedroom is at the opposite end of the house to where the crazy girls are sleeping.

Sounds like it was a fantastic night!

Hello Everybody

Wow, that is good.

I was watching the dvd of film called 'The Devil Wears Prada' by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and it based in New York, Oh I cannot wait to go back there next year:yay: . It was okay film, lots of talking, my husband fell asleep:rolleyes1

Lovely weather today and think will have bad weather this weekend.:sad2:

Anyway, I am off now and watch tv which I taped today Deal, no deals!!

Goodnight

Scottishwee35:happytv:

I recommend reading the book "devil wears prada" it was much better than the movie. Way more storyline. The movie completely eliminated the whole storyline between Anne Hathaway's character and her best friend.
Thanks for the comment that Mamma Mia reminded you of Grease, now I really have to watch it. It think my girls will be okay - may have to bribe them with candy if Kaleigh gets bored.

Hellllloooooo everyone!

Back from another stressful day at work, though it seems like everyday is stressful.

So ... I take commuter rail home in the evenings. Usually there are the same people on the train every evening.

Today, I decided to not listen to my iPod. Instead, I got to hear the conversation of the "regulars" around me.

One guy was telling a group of people about how ugly his baby grandson is. He wasn't kidding at either. I was rather shocked. I have never been a parent, but don't babies and kids pick up on those kinds of feelings?

Marilyn ... I almost forgot, the term "marketing" was used in England to mean grocery shopping.

Last night Sukie and I were watching a BBC series on DVD that was set in Suffolk in 1930. And a character who was gossiping on the High Street said she needed to get on with her "marketing."

:rotfl2: I don't know Ian! I used to talk about how ugly my cousin was when he was a baby. I'll never forget how he looked like a baby bird, all scrawny and wrinkly and squinty eyed. He was finally cute around age one and a half. Now he's 22 and looks like Ty Pennington (who I think is a cutie).

I just ran down to the store for a bag of Belly Flops and they've put their Halloween decorations out already. :sad2:

You know... we used to use the term Market also...

Up on Martha's Vineyard there are two stores... they are called Our Market and Your Market... quite famous with the locals and tourists alike... I go to Our Market....

Hey Lisa, what is Gretchen doing today for her bday?

Please send her our happiest wishes for a great year at 12             (count the bananas)

Sounds like Molly had a GREAT birthday!!

We got the whole family up (that would be mom (me), dad, Annie Gretchen, Daniel, Grandma and Grandpa and Annie's Friend Megan) off to Starbucks (where else is there??) We had breakfast/coffee and Gretchen opened her presents. I ended up getting everything she needs for competition dancing. I know I would have had to get most of the stuff anyway, but Gretchen was happy to get all this neat stuff all at once....

Then she made cupcakes for her dance classes tonight. Then we went to the pool and had a wonderful afternoon (Yes, it stopped raining and it was cool...like 82 degrees and sunny). Gretchen danced from 4:30 to 7:30.

A group of 47 teenagers are leaving tonight in the middle of the night of Costa Rica for mission work. NOBODY in my household is going, but our youth leaders daughter is going to stay with us. So we went an picked her up...

Gretchen's party will be the last weekende in August. I am taking 10 "tweens" to the beach house....and YES! I am certifiable CRAZY!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What the heck are those?

You know.. the ones that come in black and orange :rotfl2:

Did you buy him and Amtrak ticket or did he go Greyhound and leave the driving to them?

If he went Amtrak....he'd be sittin in Florida...

YOU HAD A COUGAR??? I HAD A T-BIRD!!! What year??? Did it end up leaving parts along the side of the road like mine did??? Oh how I miss my car...:sad1:

I had a '99 Cougar. A far cry from a T-bird. Slipped a rod and blew the engine. Still sitting in my driveway in fact. Not sure if I want to sell it or blow the savings fund and put a new engine in it. I'm sure Shannon is just wanting me to "get rid of the damned thing".

Hi everyone,

I've been reading and had a lot of things quoted to respond to but so much time has gone by and I'm tired so I just deleted all of them!

Happy Birthday to Molly and I enjoyed the pics from the play.

I've read all the discussion of school, learning disabilities, teachers, bullying, medication, testing, etc. with great interest.

Glad to hear that Tyler has a treatment plan and send prayers that he will have an easier time and a good school year.

Ian and Michelle, you guys are so funny! So is Woody, when he pops in...

I'm going to be getting a 2008 Civic hybrid as my new car. I might be able to pick it up tomorrow. I test drove it yesterday and I really like it. I think I got a good enough deal for a car that's in demand and short supply. Today I was on the phone most of the day taking care of things to do with the accident; everything seems to be working out OK.

I was having so much discomfort I went in to an urgent care center yesterday to have my ribs checked. They took 3 more x-rays and nothing is broken so it's just a matter of healing. My burn is looking pretty good; the small area that was a 2nd degree burn is getting smaller each day. I'm still feeling very tired so I'm trying to take it as easy as I can, but really didn't get to rest much at all today.

It's great to come on our thread and read the chit-chat, even if I'm not able to actively participate.

I'm going to try to get to sleep now--good night all & hello Marilyn and Deborah!

Ah, the 30's, can't quite remember those days!!

Up on Martha's Vineyard there are two stores... they are called Our Market and Your Market... quite famous with the locals and tourists alike... I go to Our Market....

We had weekly markets in the market square, and ther are various shops that use the term market(other from super and hyper!!) but 'marketing' is these days used as the term for showcasing firms or ideas etc.

I checked on Bobby since he has not arrived at his next destination yet and I got a little worried that he might have gotten into some mischief on the way......
