Holly...

You need a hobby... like taking all the rubber bands and making one big ball out of them... :lmao:

:rotfl: Or, taking apart a golf ball!!! Oh, you probably don't have a golf ball at work though.

Hey Marilyn...

Getting better but this was a tough one...

We figured out that I actually had 2 stones... I got rid of the last one between Wed. night and Friday... BUT... after that I have been very weak. I almost feel like I did after I had one of my neck surgeries...(without the scars....) This was the worst attack I've had since the first one 3 years ago and they took me out in an ambulance for that one...

Semi funny story... with the first one... mom called 911 - by then I had already taken one of my pain meds so by the time the EMT's got there, I was almost one very happy camper... well, I couldn't stand to have anything touching me at the time so after she let them in, she ran up the stairs yelling "Cover up... they're here" I, on the other hand hadn't cared if a marching band was coming up the stairs... she grabs what ended up being a baby blanket that I was crocheting and threw that on me at the same time the head EMT came into my bedroom saying... "Ah... that's ok... you're mom's just afraid you're gonna MOON the neighbors!!!" (It's amazing what you remember when you're on pain meds...)

Sounds like you were quite bad there Michelle. Good job you can remember some funnies!!:lmao:

Just when you thought you had gotten rid of me - here I pop back in!

Sorry to hear about the accidents and the problems Angie is having with her house sell.

I got a little busy here at home and haven't had any time to check in at all.

But I am caught up on pt3 now!

We had a busy weekend here with the Billy Barker Days Festival going on. Billy Barker Days is a family festival/fair event that takes place in the middle of July every year to celebrate the Cariboo Gold rush which helped to develop this area in the mid-1800's. It starts on the Thursday evening and goes straight through to Sunday night. For a community of 20,000 (and that's being generous) it's a pretty good little festival.

On Friday I took the kids down to the park for "Kids Day" at the park where they had some little things going on specifically for the kids. My niece joined us as well.

One of the local grocery stores had "decorate a cookie" - a chocolate chip cookie you put icing on and then add your toppings of sprinkles, Smarties (CDN kind), small Kisses, and Jelly beans. Plus they gave away slices of watermelon and balloons.
I wonder how many WW points these cookies are worth?

Here are the kids making pine cone bird feeders:

Decorated Angel wings out of wet coffee filters:

Making Gold purses:

And of course gold panning to put something in those purses:

And can you have a sunny day at the park without bubbles?

And that was just Friday - Kids Day. Saturday is when the event gets into full swing and that's where we were driving the 1963 Cadillac in the parade. But I'll post those pics later.

Now that looked a good weekend. Those coffee filters look clever.

Yeah, I could do that, but we don't really use rubber bands. OH!! I KNOW!!! I can make a chain with my paperclips and see how long it gets!

Still bored then Holly.:rotfl2:

Cotton Candy was available, of course. But my kids didn't have any. It is one of the "treats" that I don't like to get them. Too sticky still - particularly for DD3.

I love it. We call it Candy Floss, and traditionally it was spun round a stick to make eating easier!! Didn't though as your whole face got sticky!!!:lmao:

Marilyn...

If I stopped :rotfl: I'd have given up a long time ago!!!

& Ken...

Next time... just send the cotton candy east... I'll eat her share... ;)

So Ian, do you have any entertaining tales yet today?

None today. Not much happens in our world during a work week.

Extremely busy today, as I am every work day. Just eating my lunch. I always try to take a little break, just 10 minutes when I have lunch and do something not work related.

OK, Michelle, you need to ask your mother something because it is driving me nuts.

What did we used to call cotton, you know the J&J kind that came in a roll with paper? Was it cotton wool? Or, is that British? I know we used to call it something that was cotton XXXX but I can't remember the second word.

It is one of those terms that has fallen out of use, like my mother talking about going to the "crockery store," and price signs that used to have the cents symbol instead of a $ and decimals.

Yep it goes by both names here too. There's also the original name: Spun sugar.

Getting it on a stick (actual a paper tube) is the usual method here, but some places do it the bulk style and sell it in a bag. However, in the bag it usually isn't as fresh as the ones on the sticks.

I love it best on a stick too, then you can watch it being wound around and around the stick. And the smell. YUMMY!!!!!!!

Do they still make those cotton rolls??? I used to love to play with that when I was little...

Ohhhh I love it!!! I've got a conversation going about COTTON CANDY!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Personally, I like it fresh also... but in a pinch, I'll get it in the bag... I like the plain sugary flavors... NOT the fancy ones that they come out with sometimes...that's why I cannot get it at WDW... I never know what flavor I'm getting when all I wanted was SUGAR!!! (So I go and find something ELSE at the confectionary to nibble on!!!)

:lmao: :lmao:

Hi Deborah!!! Have you tried heat on your back? We have heat patches that they sell at the drug store "Thermacare" and you can stick it on your back and leave it there for like 8 hours or so... they've been a lifesaver this week for me...

Hope you're feeling better...

I'm so glad tomorrow is our final evaluation appointment with the psychiatrist about Tyler. I hope he gives us a prescription tomorrow. This morning Tyler was crying hysterically and told me he wishes he was dead. How awful for a 6-year old to feel that way. Just heartbreaking. Later, when I managed to get him calmed down, I asked him what the heck was that all about, because it just came out of nowhere. He told me he doesn't know. Poor kid. :sad1:

Ian...

Sterile cotton????

She's coming up with new ones, me thinks...

We have cotton wool that is soft fluffy cotton used for taking face cream off, dabbing wounds etc. Sold in a variety of ways.

Spun sugar is much posher - that melted sugar they fling about and make shapes with or decorate desserts.
