:grouphug: Racing out the door to go give Kaylee a HUG! :grouphug:

I'll give her one for each of you too! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm so glad you guys are going to see each other. Please make sure you give her one really big extra one from me. :goodvibes

I'm recording tonight's Olympics and BB After Dark.

Tonight we'll find out if Michael Phelps can go for the gold again and tie Mark Spitz from 30+ years ago of getting 7 gold medals in one Olympics. He already broke the record of the most career gold medals with 12 right now. He's amazing to watch swim.

HI IAN!!!!!!! I MISSED YOU and Everyone Else too!!!

I've been reading so I know about the party with the worker boys.....did you go?

I would not have.

I like the two mickeys on the wedding cake too. Since you already ordered a cake topper, why don't you use it as a table theme or center piece.....JMHO!

I didn't go to the party with my pups. They left a space out in front for me too.

I'm glad I didn't. I just don't think it would have been appropriate for the boss to be partying with a bunch of 20 year olds. I don't think I would have felt very comfortable either.

yes, except I have a lovely one from our cruise with me holding a bottle of beer which is so much more me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kelly are you getting excited about school starting?

Will Z have to wear a uniform, or street clothes?

Molly is in uniform. We are doing our shopping tomorrow. Wilson just street clothes and fortunately he just doesn't care about clothes so nothing to buy for him :thumbsup2

You should be getting excited about MY wedding.

Well I didn't think that I would make you mad. Let's see what some of the guys have to say! And there is always a few women that don't want to be treated differently :confused3 I'm still confused to what my mom and others her age were fighting for. I have a great guy though and my sister and mother say that's why I feel the way I do. Maybe it would be different if I had a bad marriage or I was a single mom.
Gaylean, what you described in the earlier post is just the kind of man I'm looking for, so you're not alone! :goodvibes

Does the swearing not bother you?

Nope, the occasional word doesn't bother me. I even use foul language myself occasionally - because its occasional it can be very effective to get my point across to a predominantly male work force.

Your guidelines make sense. I think that he would veto shorts shorter than you describe also. Shorts, however, are shorts. A skort LOOKS like a skirt.

And, it was not my rule or thought process or the Grandma's it was the DAD's, and it's his daughter who lives in his house and he works with young men who treat him like a young man and don't apologize for bad language or disrespectful comments when they make them (not unlike your boss not apologizing to the guys about swearing) so he is well aware of what they think when they see young girls as well as women.

I understood it was Dad's veto - I was just curious about the age because there are different guidelines for 3-6yr olds vs 13yr olds vs 17yr old. Minii-skirts/skorts are hugely practical summer clothes for 3-6 yr olds because they are climbing on playsets, and longer stuff gets in the way. I also find some things are okay for a 17yr old, butt look trashy on a 13yr old. IT should be interesting to see how Ken handles the girls clothes as they hit the teens - he still remembers what he thought like as a teenage boy!

PS: Back when you said they laughed when you fell out of the chair and remembered when you did that before: I am glad they did not catch it on film and put it on TV.

I'm just amazed they remember it from 2 yrs ago! I take it as a compliment that I am unforgetable! :lmao: :lmao:

Are you bragging? I think my electric bill was only 200.00 last month. That is really good for July.
Well, I didn't think I was bragging, but after hearing what your bill was, I guess I could have been! ;) But seriously, it's rare to use the a/c so little. There's usually a solid month or month and a half of using it. It's been VERY nice this year! It's been cold at night (in the 50s), so if I leave a couple windows open in the living room overnight, we don't freeze in our bedrooms, and then I close those windows and the blinds when we leave in the morning and that cold air stays in and keeps the house from getting hot during the day. Very nice!

Welcome back Deborah! That sure sounds like hard work, but I'm glad Olivia had a good time! :goodvibes

Hmmm ... I don't know quite how to broker this topic, but as I am not a parent it has been something I have thought about from time to time, usually when I am in WDW.

When I was a kid, children were dressed like children and not miniature adults.

Something that has sort of bothered me is the trend towards dressing children (especially little girls) like miniature adults. There is something that seems a bit to me like the sexualization of children, what with the heels and make-up and such I've seen. This would be on what I would judge as little girls of 8, 9, 10, 11 etc.

I find this all a bit disturbing, because it just somehow, to me seems wrong.

I'm not saying that I see it ALL the time, but have seen it enough that Sukie and I have discussed it.

Again, I apologize if I offend anyone. Not having children ourselves, or knowing anyone (in Chicago) with children, there's not really anyone I can ask.

In some ways we live a very sheltered existence in our own little world.

It is probable that I am out of touch with what goes on today.

There are some creepy clothes for young girls - I like little girls to look like little girls :yay: I find some of the girls bathing suits creepy. I find it creepy when little girls when itsy bitsy bikinis :scared1:

I can speak for us both and say yes, it is worse than normal and very fed up making!!! We have had a couple of nice weeks recently, but of course now it is backendish as we say, so less and less chance of long hot summer days.
Sounds like you've had more rainy days than nice days this summer. No fun. I hope the rain soon goes away and stays away for the rest of the summer! It's been the opposite in my area. Not much rain at all. Just a bit to the south of me in Michigan, and to the north of me, has had quite a bit of rain, but here in my city, the grass is brown all over town. The good part about that is that I can go 2 weeks without mowing!

Holly and Gaylean, that's the best kind of man. I think everyone would agree. Never settle for anything less! He's your Prince!

This is me trying to be photo artsy when we had the beautiful ocean setting behind us in San Simeon.

I could so easily never come home from the beach...I wish it were an option.

I want to be there!

Congratulations on the birth of your New Cousin! I think one of Duchess Fergie's daughters was born on 8-8-88 and I can't remembember why '8' is lucky :confused3

Ian, I feel the same as you. I was disgusted last summer when I saw Tyler's then 6-year old girl cousin come to my dad's house wearing high heel sandals, makeup, and way too short mini-skirt with a tank top that was cut above her belly to show more skin. And here's what almost made me throw up: She said, "Don't I look sexy?" There's a country song called something like "I'm here for the party" and it has a part that goes something like "I wear my jeans a little tight just to watch the little boys come undone" and she seems to know exactly what that means. It's horrible. But her parents encourage this by how they treat her while preparing for beauty pagents. I caused a stir in the family when I asked her parents, "Um.....do you want her to be pregnant as a teenager or to be abducted by a pedafile?" Yeah, I should have kept my thoughts to myself, but I just couldn't because that would say I'm OK with a 6year old parading around like a sexy adult woman. It's very sad. :sad2:

... But women have many other perks - for example, our hearing is generally better for noticing small changes in sounds.

Ok I come back and boy am I glad I did!!

This phrase made me LOL!!!

Obviously it doesn't pertain to MY wife .... Case in point - I bet she says she didn't hear me actually LOL when she is in the same room as me as I read this!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When my SIL was here a few years ago she told me that in her area of NC the kids were already (at 5 yrs) telling the other kids that Disney characters and princesses were for babies and they didn't believe in them. It was sad.

:sad1:
That's very sad. Tyler honestly believes that Mickey is bringing surprises to him every Saturday! :lmao: One time he got a Pirates of the Caribbean puzzle and just a couple days ago he saw that puzzle at Dollar Tree :rolleyes1 . He said, very excitedly, "Mom! You're NOT going to believe this!" Runs over, pulling me by the hand, to show me the puzzle that he got. "This is the puzzle I got from Mickey! Mickey must have gone shopping here!" :rotfl2: I told him, "Wow, that's cool!" ;)
