You know it has been 1 year since Frank was so very sick.....seems like just yesterday, but I am glad I am home tonight and not hanging out at the hospital.

Frank is doing so well....it really is a miracle!!

:thumbsup2 My dad was in ICU and then rehab altogether for about a year. It has been two years now and we still feel like it is a miracle.

Hey everybody. I am leaving tomorrow night for San Diego and board the ship on Friday. So I will be away for a while. I am not sure if I am going to purchase any minutes on the ship. I need to check in on my flight in 9 minutes. LOL.

I have had a pretty bad scare this week. I have a lump in my right breast and had a biopsy last Thursday. The doctor called today and said that it appears to be benign, but still have some additional tests to run. He did say that the chance is slim that it is cancer at this point but if it is, it will be a kind that they can treat very successfully. So I am thankful for this news.

All this talk of what all of you guys do to make Christmas brighter for others is really making me ashamed. I am going to make a change and spend alot more of my time and money helping others in the new year. That will be my new year resolution. (I always say I am going to lose weight but it hasn't worked yet, so I need a new one. LOL)

 I'm so sorry you had to go through the worry of the lump but it sounds like good news. Have fun on your trip and don't worry about making anyone's Christmas brighter but you and your kids.

Baby is here. :cool1:
Sophia Tosha was born this morning. Mother and baby are doing well. I talked to our kids this morning and afternoon. They are both overwhelmed by the miracle of it all--this morning there was a belly, now there is a baby and Friday they get to take her home, they do not have to leave her in the hospital.

Gramma Jan :yay:

Congratulations :goodvibes

Someone posted this on the main cruise board... it's cute... (but I imagine it's RC than Disney...) (insert Mickey slide where necessary...)

Twas The Night Before Christmas....cruise style

'Twas the night before Christmas, and far out at sea
Our vessel was sailing, as smooth as could be

The stockings were hung from the balcony chairs
With hope that St. Nicholas would find them out there

The children were nestled all snug in their uppers
Having just settled down from a Christmas Eve supper

And ma and myself, we were covered in aloe
A bit too much sun, in a pool, warm and shallow

When up in the sky, there arose such a clatter
I leapt from my bed to see what was the matter

To the sliding glass door, I flew like a flash
Well, more like a saunter, and less like a dash

And what to my skeptical eyes should appear
But a great shiny sleigh, and eight flying reindeer

They circled our ship, from starboard to port
As the moon lit the driver, a jolly old sort

Who called to his team, in a happy retort
"Now Dasher, now Dancer," so on and so forth

We raced through our cabin and into the hall
To the very top deck, in time for us all

To be awed by the sight of Old Santa's sleigh
As he lightly touched down, by the midnight buffet

With a bundle of goodies thrown over his back
He rose in the air and dropped down the smokestack

Santa went straight to work, and later we learned
He found every child's cabin, from the bow to the stern

Insides and oceanviews, balconies and suites
Santa filled every stocking, with toys and with treats

Until all his deliveries had been handled with care
Then he noted he still had a minute to spare

So he surfed the wave rider, with nary a fall
While Dasher and Dancer scaled the rock-climbing wall

And Prancer, who had always been fond of the cold
Tried the ice-skating rink, a sight to behold

And then with a whistle, Santa summoned his team
And he bade us farewell, silent nights and sweet dreams

And I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of view
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good cruise.

I would LOOOOOVE that.
Just TELL them Gaylean. That's what I did a few years ago. I told people before Thanksgiving, "Just so you all know, I'm only buying gifts for kids this year because I just can't afford to get for everybody". It took a couple times of telling people on Christmas, "Oh, you shouldn't have gotten a gift for me, I TOLD you I was only buying for kids this year" and they eventually got it. Some still buy for everybody, and that's fine if they're able, but everybody knows I only buy for kids and all are fine with that. :thumbsup2

OK, after looking out my windows and staring in shock for a while, I realize there's NO WAY my car will get down my street, unless a snow plow comes. BUT our street never gets plowed, only main roads, so I have to hope lots of cars clear a path before it's time for us to leave in less than 3 hours. Looks like we got 7 inches, so I'll definitely be shoveling today. I should go do it now, but I'd hate to do it and then find out it's a snow day which would mean we could take our time, sleep in, and shovel later. So, back to sleep for a couple hours because school closings don't get posted until 7am.

And no, I have no idea why I'm up at 5am! :rotfl: Probably because Tyler decided to climb into bed with me and has wrapped himself in all my blankets. :rotfl2:

The school district just a couple miles west of Tyler's school has already posted a 2 hour school delay, so I'm hopeful we'll have the same. :thumbsup2

Pressure is right, for me anyway. I can't believe I have time to sit here right now. I woke up early to work the parking lot at school. I came home and took a shower just to go back to work the book fair. Then I had to work (for money) even though someone was suppose to work for me. I had asked someone earlier to work for me so I could manage the book fair. Then back to the book fair. I also managed to get to Walmart to get a present for my MIL and to Costco to pick up my Christmas cards. I then wrote out my cards, made dinner and now I am baking 50 gingerbread cookies for Brooke's class. I know people everywhere probably do this every day but I'm not one of them. I have to be back at the school at 7:30 for Grandparent's Day, which will take up most of tomorrow. Then my interview is at 2:15 and then we have Jon's company party :scared1: I still don't have an outfit for the interview

Does Betty Crocker hand out mom awards.

And Mazel Tov!

Good Morning Everyone (and I suppose Nan)!

I was out of bed 30 minutes earlier today and have shoveled and salted. Actually, that only took me about 15 minutes.

As I predicted, it was colder than it was yesterday.

I really don't mind winter all that much, but this year, so far, has been the worst I can remember in about 20 years.

I guess I'll have to suit up again to go to work. The one thing I don't like are all the layers of clothing. I have to start getting ready to leave the house 7n minutes earlier, just because of all the clothing.

Yesterday, as I was toddling down the icy street towards the bus stop, I suddenly thought of Randy in "Christmas Story." If I had slipped on the ice, I wonder if I could have gotten up.

Today, I'll have to put on boots.

Now .. wouldn't it had been fun had we gone away in a couple of weeks as originally planned and Cheri was here? With the dogs, the shovels and the salt?

I promise I would have shown her a good spot to make snow angels.

Speaking of which, there are developments in the North-South West Eastwood Canal we dug in the summer.

Sukie has reported that the trench we dug is now filled up with ice. He can verify this because he slipped on it and fell down taking the trash out to the alley yesterday.

Though he also slipped and fell down twice on his way to the supermarket yesterday.

I'm beginning to believe that he just enjoys slipping and falling down, considering how often he does it.

It make me happy that after all these years, he's finally found something he's really good at.

Wow, ours has been mild so far. Only a couple days in the teens for temps. I remember last year we had quite a few snow days and that almost never happens. And a couple years ago we had a few days with temps in the single digits. So this year is easy so far here. :thumbsup2

Well, no snowday today for us, so off to wake up and shovel! Have a great day all! :goodvibes

We are home. Great flight, and off the plane quickly and on our way. Unpacked 2 suitcases, one still to do plus my carry on. Need to keep awake till at least 9pm though.

Tammy, so sorry you have had this scare. It is sounding good news, so please try and put it to the back of your mind and really enjoy your cruise.

Lovely name, but I haven't heard Tosha before.
